5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: What a piece of cake to install even for me. Windows 7 sensed it as soon as I plugged it in. 5 to 10 minutes tops. Super fast delivery from Newegg. Ordered Monday got it on Wednesday.

Cons: None so far.

4 out of 5 eggsCard very thin otherwise good!

Pros: Power connector, PCIE, 2 ports. Inexpensive.

Cons: Seems like a thinner pcb card than other ones I have used in the past. This card stays in the slot but barely. If not for the bracket screw it might fall out of the slot completely I fear. There are little contactor springs in the PCIE slot that do look like they make complete contact (I looked very closely to confirm this) but the card is somewhat loose nonetheless. Why have they done this? Other than that the card installed perfectly 1st try and windows 7 64 bit downloaded the driver and installed it right away.

4 out of 5 eggsFlimsy but otherwise seems okay

Pros: Firewire

Cons: Flimsy, have to mess around a bunch to get the card slot lined up just right to allow cables to plug in.

5 out of 5 eggsCHECK YOUR NEEDS

Pros: It does what it is supposed to do.

Cons: You have to make sure the internal plug matches the cable that you case has. In my case, the Corsair case had a 1394 female plug. It needs a 1394 header on the card. THIS card has a firewire port on the card (internal). I guess I took it for granted that the internal firewaire was a header, not a port. So rather than returning and ordering something else, I found a 12" adapter cord from a different website. Expensive. I should have just returned and exchanged for a card with a header instead. But I like Rosewill, so, oh well.

Other Thoughts: When trying to decide on which card to get, you have to look real close at the photos, because the descriptions don't always make it clear if the internal is a port or a header.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Works perfectly with the FlexRadio 3000
and FireWire cable. I have it in a older Intel
Core 2 Quad 6600 running XP Pro and also in an
Intel I7 3770 build running Windows 8.
Runs cool and size is small. It's a good value

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Does the job, didn't have to install any drivers. Dedicated power connector is a nice touch

Cons: The internal port seems a bit fatuous, an internal header in its place would be more useful in most applications.

5 out of 5 eggsIdeal product

Pros: I installed the card in 5 min. after I opened the side panel of the computer. Upon powering the computer, Windows 7 immediately found the card and installed its driver. I have used one port to backup an external drive that I purchased years ago and that has only a Firewire port - for this I used a 6/6 pins' cable that I had had. The 2nd port Has been used to copy camcorder's tapes with an 6/4 cable that had come with the card. I have already copied about 50 hrs of tapes with no slightest problem.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: A word of caution. I first purchased a PCI card( VANTEC 4-Port FireWire 400 PCI Host Card Model UGT-FW050) that is 50% cheaper and that, according to the reviews, is quite good for the job. I did not know that it has a completely different connector and that my new Dell computer has 3 PCI-E slots but none for PCI. Therefore, I sent that card back. So please know what you are buying - if your computer has a proper slot. The customer service of Newegg is excellent.

I have no idea who may need an internal port in the card, especially taking into the account that it cannot work simultaneously with one of the external ports.
