5 out of 5 eggsNice Little Device

Pros: This thing does what it's designed to do. It has been working in a build I made for my mom for about 10 months now.

Cons: The only con I can think of is that the USB 3.0 pin connector for the case'a USB 3.0 cable doesn't seem quite deep enough. It seems as if it's just barely inserted enough to work, but this is probably more of a problem with the USB 3.0 spec, not this specific device.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for a build for my mom. I had overlooked the fact that the case I got has only USB 3.0 ports on the front but the motherboard does not have a USB 3.0 pin connector. This item allowed me to hook up the case's USB 3.0 ports to the PCIe slot. It works perfectly.

4 out of 5 eggsUSB 3.0 Add on

Pros: Quick way to add 2 external and 2 internal USB 3.0 connections to a desktop.
Quick transfer speeds.

Cons: You Have to be careful choosing the correct driver.
Does not always reconize a docking station.

Other Thoughts: I paired this with a Sabrent EC-HDD2 USB 3.0 to SATA Dual Bay External Hard Drive Docking Station for 2.5 or 3.5in HDD, SSD with Hard Drive Duplicator/Cloner.
You have to plug it into the first port to get it to be recognized.
You have to sometimes turn off and on the docking station to get it to be recognized.

5 out of 5 eggsThe best USB 3.0 chipset

Pros: Don't be scared away by this card's Renesas/NEC controller. It is superb and in some cases works better than Intel's.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My experience with USB 3.0 compatibility issues involves BlackMagic video devices. They do not work well with Intel USB controllers, but work brilliantly with this.

5 out of 5 eggsSuper simple

Pros: Easy peasy installation

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I needed this to upgrade my system to USB 3.0. I added an AFT Pro-77u hub/reader and everything's up-to-speed again.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes The Job...

Pros: USB 3.0
Internal & External

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Normally I wouldn't buy and addon card for something like USB 3.0 but I just purchased a "Cooler Master HAF Stacker 935" and on the front it has 2 USB 3 and 2 USB 2 ports. I'm moved my File Server into this case and it really seemed like a waste to not have the case fully functional, the problem being my motherboard didn't have any USB 3.0 connecters and for what it does buying a brand new motherboard would have been pointless. So Vantec to the rescue.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy as pie

Pros: It works as advertised

Cons: None that I've discovered

Other Thoughts: The card install is simple and straight forward. I know this may be painful to so many people, but you need to read the instructions! The driver disk does not auto install. Pick the folder of the model card you have (UGT-PC345) and install those drivers, Reboot and enjoy. I chose this card because the internal header matched what my new case provided. The motherboard is an older Asus P5N7A-VM running Windows Vista. So far, no compatibility issues.

5 out of 5 eggsFast, Small, Easy

Pros: After looking over the other companies products they all had a review of burning up connected drives, I've recommended this USB 3.0 PCIE too two other friends and neither of us have had a drive go bad. Gives you faster speeds, what could be better.

Cons: Make sure to keep the box long enough to install the drivers. Has the ID somewhere on the bus but easier to look at the box.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Upgrade

Pros: - Easy and hassle free installation. Installed driver, plugged the card in to a pci-e slot, and it was good to go.
- A lot faster than USB 2.0. I ran a test copy for a 3GB movie. USB 2.0 took 2:20. USB 3.0 took 0:40.
- For only $25, i upgraded my USB 2.0 motherboard to USB 3.0! Huge performance gain for so little money.

Cons: None.

1 out of 5 eggsGot issues after 2 months

Pros: It got additional USB 3.0 port via the Internal 20-pin connector Ports for a total of 4 USB 3.0 ports

Cons: -Have to install drivers from CD because online drivers don't work
-Broken after 2 months

Other Thoughts: Since I rebooted my computer it doesn't work anymore.

-Tried unplugging re-plugging my devices
-Tried re-installing the drivers/software from the CD

It does provide power, I can charge my phone but it can't detect my usb drives

no dice
