Supermicro lets you deploy the energy-saving and performance advantages of the 2.5" SAS drives with the SYS-1016I-M6F 1U server barebone system. This system is based on the new Super X8SI6-F motherboard with an integrated 6Gb/s SAS controller. 6Gb/s SAS technology doubles the data transfer rates of its 3Gb/s predecessor and easily integrates with existing 3Gb/s SATA and SAS infrastructures for improved performance and scalability.
The SYS-1016I-M6F supports the latest Intel Xeon X3400/L3400 Series processor, providing over 50% more performance as compared to the previous generation single-processor server platforms. To support all the processing power you can install up to 48GB of ECC registered memory or up to 16GB DDR3 ECC unbuffered memory.
Advanced RAID 0, 1 and 10 protection takes high availability to HDD efficiency. There is also a slim DVD drive installed into the server for program and data loads. The whole thing is powered by an 80 Plus Silver-certified power supply so the system will get all the power that it needs.
