LSI LSI00161 MegaRAID LSIiBBU07 Battery Backup Unit for 8880EM2, 9260-xx and 9280-xx--Avago Technologies

For use with LSI 8880EM2, 9260-xx, 9261-xx, 9280-xx and 9750-xx high performance RAID controller, the LSI MegaRAID LSIiBBU07 is an add-on module that protects the integrity of cached data by providing emergency power to cache memory during extended power failure or brief power outage. When power is restored, the data not yet written to the hard drives can be retrieved from cache memory.

The LSI battery backup units (BBU) can be used as an inexpensive alternative to uninterrupted power supplies (UPS), or provide a second level of protection when used in combination with UPSs. Plus, this model is an intelligent battery back unit (iBBU), which, in addition to standard features of BBU, can also automatically charges the battery pack and communicates with the host system the battery status, such as voltage, temperature and capacity.
