Can the low profile bracket be removed?

Mine was held on with two Phillips-head screws.  I removed it but had to search my junk drawer for a full-height bracket that fit: the screw-hole spacing is not uniform across all full-height brackets or circuit boards.

Will this card support RAID 1 with Western Digital WD30EFRX 3TB drives in Windows 7?

I don't know... I purchased this item back in Sept. 2013, as well as a bunch of similar low-cost adapters...

in the end the only adapter I could get to work with installing a 1T Seagate SATA3 HDD into my PATA main-board, was an adapter called PATA2SATA3 from Startech dot com.. this bi-directional adapter simply plugged one end into my female mobo parallel port(rather than a PCI slot connection), after I set the jumper switch on this adapter according to its/the online pdf additional documentation from startech dot com... the part, at 24 is a bit pricey.. and/but ships from the U.K.

I don't understand RAID hardly at all.. so what i've shared above, may not help you much... since you ask about it(RAID), I guess, you would want to purchase a -card/PCI card- adapter rather than what i only needed due to my one drive now, and that was a -mobo- adapter
