1 out of 5 eggsSlowly loosing ports

Pros: 6 ports and memory card readers.

Cons: Flimsy case. All memory card readers stopped working. I am slowly loosing USB ports. They are going one at a time. When one port stops working, I move it to one that is working. After it breaks, I move it to another. I am down to 3 working USB ports. Its a slow and painful death for this USB hub. Dont waste your money on it.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Works Great! I was unsure if it would work with my MacBook Pro, but it does and extremely well. I have programmed several CF cards with it, read/written to many SD cards, and I have two external hard drives, and printer connected to it with no problems.

Cons: None (see Other Thoughts)

Other Thoughts: I don't want to say it is a CON because it could be something up with my system for some reason, but my ipod stopped charging/syncing through the USB HUB all of a sudden, but I haven't had any other problems with any other devices.

4 out of 5 eggsCard readers work only at USB 1 speeds, not USB 2.0

Pros: Enough weight so desk "creep" is reduced. I use a patch of velco underneath to lock it in position. 6 USB connectors.

Cons: Card readers data transfer work at USB 1 speeds only. Example: SD card plugged into hub and attached to laptop takes about 8 minutes to transfer data. Same SD card plugged into built card reader on same laptop transfer in under 45 seconds. Iogear indicates card reader works at USB 1 specs but does not make that info apparent in its description.

Other Thoughts: If you prefer not to have the additional drive letters for your card readers slots appear in your windows explorer you may disable the individual drives that you do not have memory cards for in Device Manager.

1 out of 5 eggsCannot read SD under Ubuntu

Pros: - Looks great
- Horizontal/vertical standing
- External P.Supply

Cons: The device can be identified by the Ubuntu host controller and read SD/MMC cards _sometimes_.
In most cases reading writing will fail, making the card unusable (required reformatting), and mess up the host usb device drivers pretty bad, which will require system restart.
USB hub somewhat works, but most of the times will not.
I tried connecting:
- Gyration wireless usb dongle for keyboard+mouse
- Logitech USB headset
- External hard-drive USB adapter
- Digital camera (Olympus S3-IS)
- 802.11G WiFi adapters
None of those devices worked as well as they did connected directly to the USB ports. At some point I just gave up on it, since stability did not seem to improve. The hub/ard-reader I have is either defective or has serious compatibility issues.

Other Thoughts: If mine is not a uniquely defective device, I recommend to stay away if you paln connecting it to Ubuntu. Have no idea about windows... could be working working just fine with Micro$oft products...

2 out of 5 eggsCheap quality, expensive cost

Pros: Multifunction

Cons: Drivers are required for the memory card readers. Drive letters are always assigned for all four unused readers - quite annoying and cluttered for the OS.

Other Thoughts: Overall cheap build quality. I don't recommend the product.

4 out of 5 eggsActually pretty great

Pros: 1. 6 port USB 2.0 Hub
2. Card reader reads everything I've thrown at it

Cons: Like everyone else says, the stand is less then desirable. My solution was putting a little poster putty on the bottom and now i have no problems at all.

Other Thoughts: The device works great. The 6 port hub is great, I have a dvd burner and external hard drive hooked up on it and the dvd burns fine from the ahrd drive with no problem. It is true it doesn't start up till Windows does, so no your keyboard won't work till then, but your not suppost to have a USB plugged into a hub anyway as anybody who works on computers know. Most bioses check the built in usb ports, so plug the keyboard into the board and your fine. Honestly this is a well made product, minus the stand, but with a little poster putty you are set.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: The card reader. This is the only card reader I have that can read 4GB A-Data SD card.

Cons: When fully plugged in with USB cable, it falls backwards. Vertical stand is useless. I cannot plug in a dvd burner and ext. drive to it at the same time and have the burner buring files from the ext. drive.

2 out of 5 eggsGood idea, but mediocre execution

Pros: Having a combined USB hub and card reader is a neat idea, in principle. There's 6 USB ports, which is fairly generous compared to the 4 ports you get in most hubs. The vertical stand is also useful -- again, in principle.

Cons: None of the USB ports work until the operating system has booted, so you can't access the BIOS or any boot menus if your keyboard is attached to the hub. The hub will periodically just stop working and require me to reseat the power connector. The vertical stand is so flimsy that it can barely keep the hub upright when it's completely unplugged, much less when 4 or 5 devices are plugged into it.

Other Thoughts: Next time around, I'll just buy a seperate USB hub and card reader. I suggest that you do the same.

2 out of 5 eggsVery poor quality

Pros: USB hub function works; and the idea is great.

Cons: The card readers show up in windows but don't work. Their driver/utility also doesn't recognize the device. I bought it with the intention to save desk space, but this really poorly build flaky.

Other Thoughts: It would be worth it if it actually worked. Do yourself a favor and buy something else.
