5 out of 5 eggsThe Mac likes it

Pros: It works with my Mac Mini. The power cable is long compared to some other hubs.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Macs can be very finicky with USB peripherals & hubs, exhibiting odd behavior with some. I went through two others which the Mac didn't like, then found this one., which works perfectly.

5 out of 5 eggsAbove and Beyond

Pros: This USB has been doing a great job, and i throw this thing through the ringer. It identifies drives quickly, and the speed is the same as the actual port on the computer. The stainless accents make it really pleasing to look at on your desk.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: none

3 out of 5 eggsWorked fine until it didn't

Pros: Did its job with little fuss...for a little while.

Cons: Do not use this device with flash memory!

This hub worked fine for a bit less than a year. When it died, it did so in a rapid on/off manner, like a short of some sort, destroying the data on the USB drive connected to it and rendering it useless until I hunted down a manufacturer's repair tool.

I'm lucky my cell or PSP wasn't connected to it when it started to die. As it was, I did lose some valuable documents that I was foolish enough to trust on a USB thumb drive connected through a cheap hub.

Other Thoughts: Note that the USB devices plug into the hub on one side, the AC adapter on another, and the device connects to the computer on yet a third side. This makes it impossible to mount this in a way that there won't be wires sprawling visibly. Maybe you care, or maybe you don't, but it's a pretty careless design regardless.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Small Hub

Pros: Have not had any problems with this hub. It's small and is able to power everything I connect to it. Works with my Mac Pro just fine.

1 out of 5 eggsAluminum means its made of aluminum, not that there is a strip of aluminum on the outside

Pros: While it worked, well... it worked.

Cons: Would not power my 2.5" external drive while using it's power source. Also, it died a few months after I bought it.

Other Thoughts: The power supply works with my 2.5" external drive (strangely), so at least I'm getting some use out of it.

5 out of 5 eggsWell made, works well

Pros: 4 ports, USB 2.0, ac adapter, metal case, LED

Cons: a tad expensive.. but worth it.

Other Thoughts: I bought the red one, same model a few years ago and I've never had a problem with it... it works and it works well. The fact that it has 4 ports and could be used powered or un-powered was a big point for me. I use 3 ports and keep the last open for USB thumb drive. I used it unpowered for the first couple of years and then powered it when I got a Wacom Bamboo tablet. The case is metal and tough enough and the LED is a nice touch as it lights when a USB device is active.
