2 out of 5 eggsWindows 7 will not boot

Pros: Works fine when Windows in already running.

Cons: Windows will not boot when this device is plugged in.

Other Thoughts: Says on box. "Requirements: Pentium Processor-Based Computer" So I guess my AMD Processor is the problem. They should have mentioned that on the Web Site specs.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I tried 2 other hubs that I bought from a local store and they were not compatible with Windows 7 so I returned them to the store, but this Koutech 13 port hub works just fine with Windows 7 (64). . Overall it is a great hub and maybe the best value considering that it has 13 ports.

Cons: Like other reviewers mentioned, the LED light is too bright.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat hub

Pros: Works perfect, tons of ports! Couldn't ask for anything more from this. Now I have enough ports within reach.

Cons: Bright LED, but a strip of electrical tape works great.

5 out of 5 eggsRealized I didn't need so many ports :P

Pros: Works well. Shiny

Cons: Fingerprint magnet

Other Thoughts: The blue led status light on the top is very bright, I recommend covering it up with something if this device will be in your bedroom.

4 out of 5 eggsSpiffy

Pros: It's as nice as it looks. The shiny surface doesn't show pick up too many smears, fingerprints. 13 ports is hard to beat. It's great.

Cons: Not sure where the hangup is, but the hard drives I've connected to it transfer at half the speed of the ones connected directly to my computer. Potentially could be the enclosures, the OS, or just the HUB indeed, but I don't know. Still, it knocked it from a 5 star to a 4 for me.

Other Thoughts: The port on top is a little gimmicky in my opinion, but it's a solid design. When laid down, it's fairly flush and difficult to open (unless you have long nails, I suppose). When in use, it's sturdy and doesn't feel susceptible to breaking.

5 out of 5 eggsTech support is fantastic

Pros: I sent in a question prior to purchase wanting to know about Win7 support and total available power for the hub. They went out of their way to connect all the devices I would be using in order to determine if the 4 amp transformer would be able to power everything....it does. This is way beyond what I expected or have experienced. The unit is on the way and I am comfortable that it will perform as described.

Cons: Nothing.

Other Thoughts: Be aware the Microsoft changed the PnP design in Win 7 and it effects USB devices. I have found a number of USB hubs that will not work with Win 7 though they work great with XP. MS is being mum on the subject saying only that it is not their problem if the unit has not been tested. Koutech has tested their devices with both 32bit and 64bit versions of Win7. The other vendors have not.
