1 out of 5 eggsPainfully Slow

Pros: It did perform its intended function.

Cons: Painfully slow to actually switch over, like on the order of 20s. The screen switched over in maybe ~10s and then it took another ~10s for the mouse to start working. The button to activate the switch only worked about two out of three times. Every one out of five times or so the keyboard didn't switch over.

Other Thoughts: I couldn't take it any more so I bought an isogear kvm switch and it switches in about 4s, the button always works, and I've never had issues with the keyboard switching over.

1 out of 5 eggsMonitor backwards from mouse and keyboard

Pros: In theory a good design except for the lag when switching.

Cons: Computer 1 gets the keyboard and mouse from keyboard 2 and vice versa. I have to unscrew the two thumb screws from the back of the unit and reboot the unit to get it to work right every morning.

Other Thoughts: I would say the wiring is crossed up somewhere but the VGA and USB connections are molded into the same cable and doing a hard reset on the unit makes it work correctly.

1 out of 5 eggsSimply awful....

Pros: Looks good

Cons: Using kb/mouse you cannot switch away from PC that is shutting down or is down but CAN switch to it and get stuck there (INSANE) - this screwup alone should keep you from getting stuck with this white albatross; And, why is there a button? How does that save desk space? I don't need no stinkin' buttons!

2 out of 5 eggsForm over Function

Pros: Looks nice, great idea to have the flip and not the entire component sitting on the desk.

Cons: Functionally inferior. Shutdown both computers and restarted both with neither getting mouse/kybrd. Had to disconnect flipper and USB connections before mouse/kybrd would work.

Other Thoughts: Once everything is working, all is fine. Flip delay is tolerable. However, shutting down both systems seems to hose the USB connection on the unit requiring everything to be reseated. This was my second unit.

2 out of 5 eggsAlmost works

Pros: Attractive design.

Cons: The device fails to maintain emulation on one device while connected to the other. This just doesn't work well. On a linux box, RH/KDE, the device is assigned a new device name when you switch back to it - so it is no longer attached to your X-windows session. This connect/disconnect on the USB is just a very bad idea.

2 out of 5 eggsNeat design, bad product

Pros: Neat design... somewhat resembles the Apple designs.

Cons: Just doesn't work well. I bought two from a local computer store at $50 each, and neither worked (the flip "button" was broken). After exchanging it, I did not experience the 5 sec delay that other reviews talk about, but I do find myself in situations where I can't flip to a machine that's powered off (so that I can see it boot up from the beginning).

Other Thoughts: Not worth the price! I can not recommend this product.

3 out of 5 eggsnot perfect but far from horrible

Pros: quick and easy switching via the remote - and keyboard hotkeys (once you install the software on BOTH computers.)

Cons: approx 5 sec delay on switching due to the OS having to find and install the USB keyboard and mouse each time. I spent about 6 hours trying to figure out why the KVM wouldn't allow but 2 resolutions coming from the laptop. I had to swap the cables to get all the resolutions to show up from the laptop. Long cable to the laptop, short cable to the desktop. If you have to do alot of switching - think twice - the 5 second delay is agonizing as you can see the desktop but can't do anything.

Other Thoughts: Honestly - it's not horrible, but there are flaws. If you can deal with them - the switch lag, funky resolution glitch, etc - then it's quite usable.

2 out of 5 eggsAlmost Great

Pros: Nice Design, Integrated Cables with audio support.

Cons: I do not use the same two PCs all the time. One is always the same, but the other is always different (I am a technician).

Like the previous review, I have to at least once every couple days "reset" (unplug all cables from PCs) the KVM to get it working again. No native hot key support (must use "button" or install software).

Overpriced for the functionality

Other Thoughts: I have used KVMs for at least 4 years (and about 5 different ones), and this is the first one I have to reset every so often.

Not really a con per say, but one set of the integrated cables is only like two feet long, and the other like six feet.

2 out of 5 eggsHas to redetect every switch!

Pros: Belkin is a good brand. This KVM looks nice and the button is straightforward to use.

Cons: I love KVM's, and thought that this thing would be perfect. I have a desktop/laptop+docking station. The button is neat and great for users who don't understand the hot keys BUT everytime I switch, the computer has to redetect the USB devices. Often it does not detect them and I have to unplug and replug the keyboard and mouse to get them to work again.

Other Thoughts: I thought that some simple emulation would keep the computers from having to redetect every time..
