1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Added custom USB ports and wire pass through to my desk build.

Cons: The thing only lasted a little more than a month. Now I am left with a hole in my desk and nothing to show for it.

Other Thoughts: I am passed my 30 day period for a RMA through newegg. Unless I get some kind satisfactory response from the manufacturer I cannot recommend this to anyone.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat USB hub

Pros: It works without flaws. Looks great installed in the desk for a permanent solution. Love the Bottom USB port for my Logitech Unifying receiver!

Cons: I think that it is price. There is also no real mention on the website, and there isn't a USB 3.0 variation. I also wish the power cord was a little longer.

Other Thoughts: This is a very ingenious design that will have a great look installed in your desk. I do think that it will serve better as a $25 product, and there NEEDS to be a USB 3.0 solution of this. All in all, great hub. It does what it suppose to do!

4 out of 5 eggsFits a niche. Mostly.

Pros: Fits in the 2" cable-holes in most desks. Keeps the hub out of the way and tightly fastened to the desk, so its not moving around. USB ports in the top and bottom. I have of these, one at each end of my desk, and connect the farthest from the PC, through the one closest to the PC, keeping all of the wires under the desk, and out of sight. It is sufficiently powerful to charge devices, etc, and otherwise does everything a good hub should do.

Cons: The second of my two hubs, the sleeve that fits into the desk whole (at which point the USB hub slides and locks into the sleeve) didn't fit snuggly. The first one fits both wholes fine, but the second is loose, in either whole. This suggest that the build quality/tolerances of the parts aren't really consistent. Not a big deal by any means, but something worth noting. As others have noted, the price is a bit high. But its the only hub out there that fits this profile.

Other Thoughts: I would love to see this in a USB 3.0 version, so I can plug in my Leap device, and USB 3.0 SSDs.

4 out of 5 eggsLeader in its niche.

Pros: Decent build quality. Long cables for usb and power. Twist lock removal design is great and acknowledges that if you have one of these holes in your desk you need to snake cords in and out of it fairly often. Price is ok since I am only buying one. I would not pay 40 if we had more than a few desks that needed them.

Cons: Ran strong for 2 years in our CEO's desk. It just died. There was a whiff of ozone and plastic. I am not sure which device he was charging caused it but I know he charges his iphone and that's about it.

Other Thoughts: I think I will buy this again. 2 years is not a real long time but I can't be sure it was a failing of the device. Besides, there are not many choices in the desktop "hole hub" market.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Looks awesome. Works good. Twists and lifts out easily.

Cons: High price. Would be even better if the usb cord that hooked in the back had a 90 degree connector or something.

Other Thoughts: If it were half the price like somebody else said, I guarantee everybody in the office would have one.

3 out of 5 eggsReliability issues

Pros: Convenience, design.

Cons: Reliability

Other Thoughts: I installed two in the study I share with my wife. One continues to work without a problem, but the other sometimes fails to connect the peripherals - specifically iPad and iPhone fail to connect.

3 out of 5 eggsExpensive

Pros: Works just like a desk grommet
Grommet fits snug in the 2" hole
Hub latches securely in the grommet
Can be taken in and out without much hassle so you can run new cables past it.

Cons: It's $40 for a little USB Hub

Other Thoughts: I wanted this because I was building a desk, and thought that this would be an awesome clutter-saver for the desk top. It is just that, but it's also way overpriced. You always seem to pay a bit more for "Belkin", but this is ridiculous. $20 would be fair, $40 is crazy...
