1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: Kinda works, sometimes.

Cons: I had two of these, both crapped out. The first had terrible color rendition and had to be power-cycled all the time, it was replaced. Now the replacement is dead after a power flip. My systems were on a UPS but not the KVM.

Also the video box showing which monitor was on did not timeout and the system would not respond until there was a mouse click or a key was pressed. All in all I expected more as tis isn't the cheapest KVM around.

I will be buying a new KVM but definitely not a Belkin.

1 out of 5 eggsterrible product

Pros: newegg is great and has great customer service.

Cons: Product is terrible, bought one and in a few hours stopped working returned to newegg for a refund.
bought a second and it stopped working after a few hours currently returning item to newegg for a refund.

belkin tech support was no help and have nothing listed as far as defects on their site.

Other Thoughts: i have other belkin switches and they have lasted me years. i may have just had a string of bad luck and like belkin products in general. either way NE is the best.

1 out of 5 eggsStay away!

Pros: Works well when the planets are in alignment. The previous units (PRO2) work well.

Cons: Requires special cables. I have repeatedly received units that don't work or require re-flashing the firmware in order to work. Unit stopped working a few months later. Basically, it's garbage. Stay away! Get something cheaper that works, or get a used PRO2 switch and some USB to PS/2 converters for the console mouse and keyboard.

Other Thoughts: The first switch I ordered didn't work. It would switch the video, but the USB connections didn't work, and my computers couldn't detect what resolution to use on half the ports (normally this is supplied through the video cable as serial data, probably some of the pins were non-functional). I sent it back. When I received a replacement, that one didn't work either. I tried flashing the firmware, and then it started working normally. I was finally happy with the thing. Now, a few months later, it decided to stop working again, with the same symptoms as the first KVM switch had (USB no longer works). I tried re-flashing the firmware (which you can only do from a PC), but that didn't fix it.

5 out of 5 eggsHelluva switcher.

Pros: Easy to use, hotkeys are great, can be put in series for more switchers, hasnt failed me yet. Still going strong.

Cons: It says it can be powered by the mobo power, but I havent tried to trust that yet. And it gets glitchy if the power goes out, but can resume to normal operation when reset like anything else.

Other Thoughts: Ive had the predecessor to this unit for 2 years, Im happy with it. I havent even explored everything it can do.
