1 out of 5 eggsGo elsewhere for a KVM solution

Pros: There are none.

Cons: This is the WORST KVM I have EVER owned, we have 3 of these in our shop and none of them have EVER worked correctly. If the KVM loses power due to a brownout or the likes you NEED to have 2 PC's hooked up to it so it will initialize the Keyboard and mouse correctly even though it has an external power adapter. I have to constantly unplug and plug in the USB cables to get attached items to work, the USB plugs in the back of the unit just fall out as they are not secured. I will take great pleasure in tossing this thing into the dumpster and crushing it.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent KVM

Pros: This has been a superb hub, replaced an old OMNIVEW SE.

Cons: Been glitcing randomly the last week, isn't that old (Dec 2011, this is April 2013).

Other Thoughts: NOTE: newegg is showing the F1DS104J as having a built-in USB hub, that's only on the newer model (the L).

1 out of 5 eggsVery disappointing

Pros: It is equipped with USB as well as PS/2 keyboard and mouse connections. All of the cable connections are on the back of the KVM switch making it easier to keep the cable mess under control. Color coordinated cables help to quickly recognize which port a PC is connected to.

Cons: One of my computers does not recognize the mouse input from any of the 4 KVM ports. Plug the mouse directly into the PC and it works fine. Another PC recognized the mouse connection until today. Nothing has changed it just stopped seeing a mouse. both machines are running Windows 7.

I should have paid closer attention to previous reviews...

This KVM switch is equipped with VERY BRIGHT white LEDs that are tilted upward and extremely blinding. This was a very poor design choice in my opinion.

3 out of 5 eggsArt Deco Modern

Pros: This thing is nicely color coded and worked flawlessly for the first 18 months. The USB ports are handy for switching peripherals

Cons: The USB hub has become unstable and wuit working at 18 months of age.

Other Thoughts: I use this KVMA a lot, switching 75-100 times a day, overall it has been a work horse.

1 out of 5 eggsDosn't reconize mice

Pros: Looks cool! All lights and buttons function. Nice cables & color coded. Recognizes keyboard on USB & PS/2.

Cons: Mice do not work at all, PS/2 or USB. I have tried 4 different mice,3 M$ & 1 Logitech. Defective out of box?

Other Thoughts: I have had great experience with other Belkin kvm switch. I have also experienced this SOHO switch at a client business & it worked great. Guess I got the lucky defective one.

5 out of 5 eggsLOVE IT

Pros: Connected it to my dell server and my dvr, can switch between both of them and keyboard and mouse works like there were directly attached.

I love it!! Bought many and sent back cause they would not work with a usb and ps/2 (both types) correctly.

Belkin has always been good with wire (cables) and I see they have improved on their hardware...

Cons: Thumb screws arn't long enough..... but manageable...

Other Thoughts: It works!!!!

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible

Pros: None

Cons: This is our second unit. The previous one died. This one hangs the workstation on the first boot causing you to boot a second tiime then it works. If you turn on a workstation while the video is set to another device then the video will not switch until you reboot again with the video set to the workstation you are booting. Even doing all of this correctly sometimes the keyboard does not work until you reboot again. This is a terrible product and we will not be ordering any more.

1 out of 5 eggsBroken after 6 months

Pros: When functioning, worked well and transitioned great between my four workstations. Design is appealing to the eye.

Cons: Didn't survive the test of time of only SIX MONTHS. I've bought many Belkin products. Purchasing this product has tarnished my perception that "not everything" they make is top quality. Buyer beware.

Other Thoughts: Now that this product is broken, it isn't totally useless: it makes a stylish surface to prop my laptop next to my additional monitor, so it serves the equivalent purpose as a block of wood.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work

Pros: Easily replaced with a model which works. Fits nicely in standard office waste basket after cables are disconnected.

Cons: Got one of the very first units. It unit fails at the only important thing a KVM must do. When a computer is booting, the KVM must simulate a mouse, keyboard, and monitor even when you're looking at a different computer. This box leaves the computer stuck with no keyboard, video, or mouse. When you switch to a rebooted computer later, you can't wake it up.

Other Thoughts: Have no idea how this design ever made it into production. Tech support tried to tell me I needed to select the right computer before rebooting. Wouldn't send a replacement unit until they received mine and verified some problem.

This product deserves 0 eggs.

2 out of 5 eggsNot so good

Pros: Worked out of the box, big buttons easy to switch and quick switching.

Cons: There are two leds on buttons, one for speakers and one for keyboard, they're too bright and very annoying.

Other Thoughts: Had my boss buy it to use at work and I regret I did it. The keyboard stopped working on second port without any reason on first day. Tried unplugging and replugging, disconnecting power and etc., going to return it, what a waste of time.

Recommend buying N82E16817399062 along with dvi-vga adapters. I use it at home, works great.
