3 out of 5 eggsLinks Key

Pros: Nicely Priced & thoughtful layout.

Cons: Wishing, Linkskey would offer more..

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great idea

Cons: Poor execution. Had three of my portable hard drives plugged in and it began ejecting them. Now have to reformat one of my drives. Garbage.

4 out of 5 eggsEvery item does not need an LED

Pros: The USB Hub does what it was meant to do. Works with flash dives and Wireless Keyboard.

Cons: It would be nice if the ports were farther apart, a little trouble inserting some flash drives side by side.

The LED needs to go, Why do companies think we need an LED on every item we use. I would have given 5 eggs except for the RED LED shining in my eyes.

4 out of 5 eggsdoes the job, no problems for me

Pros: I bought this to be able to plug in flash sticks on the desk while keeping the PC under another desk nearby. It does that well enough thanks to the cable length. I selected this over other models partly because this wouldn't need an extender.

I like the braided cable in clear plastic.

Cons: * The case appeared transparent in the photos on the Newegg page, and I liked that, but the one I received was actually very dark and only a little transparent.

* The LED is useless! It glows red *all the time*, even when the PC is off. If it lit up when a readable device was inserted and detected, that would at least be some logical functionality.

Other Thoughts: I have not found any of the problems that others noted. Can't say about the long run but it has been fine so far.

4 out of 5 eggsdoes what it is intended to do

Pros: thick aluminum-braided USB cable connecting the hub to the PC

Straight-forward plug-n-play setup

Easy to use, small shape, high portability

Cons: Docked 1 egg because the outer shell (where the USB connections are plugged in) is a mm or two too small, making some larger plugs hard-to-fit. Can be easily remedied by shaving away parts of it with a box cutter, since this isn't exactly a high-dollar peripheral device anyway.

- Does not provide "power" to certain high-voltage demanding USB devices, but it never really claimed that it did anyway. Go with a HUB with external power for that, if you need it.

Other Thoughts: Overall a good buy for someone who does not use high-end USB gadgets such as a mini-fridge or USB fans. If you use those types of devices, then you may wish to opt for a hub which provides external usb power via an AC Adapter. If you are like me, and are only going to be using this for an extra keyboard/mouse, then it is a great deal for the cost and does exactly what it is supposed to

5 out of 5 eggsUSB 4-Port HUB

Pros: Great 4 port USB Hub. I've had one of these for over a year and needed another, so I bought two! Works without problems on Linux, Fedora Core 16.

Cons: None. I wish they would make an 8 or 10 port USB hub.

3 out of 5 eggsWould not buy again

Pros: Works.

Cons: Cable is kinda short (3-4 feet). Shoddy construction. Doubt it'll last long.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for. Were I to do it again, I'd spend a bit more and get something else.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Sits between the end of my KVM switch and my laptop to extend the USB cords and give me a few open ports when it's docked. It works perfectly on bus power and gave me no issues whatsoever. Cable is a bit longer than it looks like on the picture, and should give plenty of room to position it nicely.

Cons: I wish it was black and opaque.

Other Thoughts: At first my laptop sat for a long while at the BIOS screen, but that issue went away. I'm not at all convinced it's the hub's fault, but time will tell.

5 out of 5 eggsThese work good

Pros: I've purchased several of these over the past few years and they work very nicely.

Cons: They have a port for a DC power source, but it doesn't come with any kind of power supply. Personally I very much prefer to not have to provide external power to a hub, but some devices draw enough power from the USB that they need it. So this hub should only be used for low power devices (either that or go buy an AC adapter to go with it).
