ALSO ITS SUPER QUIET YOU CAN BARELY HEAR IT.
Cons: nothing really, wish it comes in black to match my case. but still the blue glossy finish make it look really nice in the case.
Other Thoughts: running intel quad core and 6 hard drives, two 8800 ultra in sli and two dvd RW, two water cooling system , and much much more and still can handle much more. very powerful stable PS i recommend it to every gamer out there. it works great with EVGA 680I SLI MB.

Enterprise Class Power
Reviewed By: Juan on 4/29/2008
Tech Level: average - Ownership: less than 1 day
Pros: As far as power supply units go, the ABS Tagan 1300W is an impressive piece of machinery. From its blue chrome finish, to its meshed cords, this device screams high quality and is truly suitable for an enterprise server or extremely serious enthusiast who builds gaming rigs. Personally, I had never installed a power supply all by myself before (I built my machine with a more experienced friend by my side), and I found this PSU generally intuitive to use.
Cons: That said, the dimensions of this PSU are a bit off -- it is longer than most PSU's in its class, and will have a hard time fitting into a Thermaltake Armor (though it can be done -- I had to remove my top fan, and do without the PSU brace, because it was so large, those two things could not fit). Also, the wiring is incredibly thick and extremely heavy, but ABS provides you with a good assortment of velcro bands that are somewhat effective. Finally, some of the instructions are archaic - like the rubber anti-vibration "glove" that you are advised to put on the PSU before locking it in, or the vague instructions just to "attach the ground wire to the motherboard" without really telling you where or how.
Other Thoughts: All in all, if you have a serious gaming rig that demands around 800-900 watts of power, you should be looking at PSU's in the 1300 watt range to ensure efficiency and peak performance. ABS does the job with a stylish, if somewhat heavy and awkward PSU, that will fit in most gaming mid-to-high towers.

Cons: This power supply is Incompatible with a lot of new hardware, in my case the EVGA x58 3X SLI Board. This is due to the way it is wired, it was the same case with the old version of the Cooler Master power supplies. Also support is basically gone for this powersupply. Tagan went out of business and ABS canceled their support contract for tagan PSUs. Topower now covers the support for the power supplies but has very little info on them. I talked with one of their agents and they said they could only offer me very basic support and he wasn't sure if they could replace the unit.
Other Thoughts: So basically DO NOT BUY this powersupply, it is outdated and little to no support is available for it.

PCIE connector stopped working after 6 months
Reviewed By: on 4/10/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: *Quiet *Worked well in the first 3 months.
Cons: *PCIE connector became flaky at 3 months. I had GPUS with power LED showing a red light meaning the power is not ready. I had to unplug and plug in another connector in. It may fix the problem. From this point on, the power supply is not stable to POST a 3 way SLI system. *PCIE connector stopped working at 6 months. I cannot POST the system if there is any GPU needing a PCIE power connector. I replaced the power supply with a Turbo Cool 1200W. It worked perfectly. So I end up using this power supply with a motherboard GPU system. *PCIE connector clip does not fit some graphics cards. The clip on the power supply is too wide. I had to modify the graphics cards, so it will fit in. Again Turbo Cool 1200W PCIE connectors does not have this problem.
Other Thoughts: I am using 3 1000W+ power supply for work for multi-GPU in the last year. Tagan is the only one giving me trouble.

Very nice PSU, but quite pricey too

Pros: Enough wires to choke a goat and fry him at the same time. Nice blue mirror finish is hypnotic, and it comes with a little 1300 watt liscence plate for your case should you take it out for a spin.
Cons: Its nearly impossible to route the wires neatly in a mid-tower case. Modular design would have been a welcome addition. Instead, stuffing this gob of wires into my case requires imagination and ingenuity to avoid seriously impeading airflow. Just keep this in mind if your are maxing out air flow or using a normal or smaller sized case [my mid-tower is knee-high and just as long, but fitting the wires nicely below my GPU but away from the front intake of this unit is an ongoing challenge.
Other Thoughts: I haven't pushed this PSU anywhere close to its limit, but I haven't had any indication of dissapointment from it at all.
