Power House
- Pros: This is a power house of a PS, This thing has enough power to run everything I have plus have room for upgrades. I want to upgrade to two 8800 GTX vid cards. The cables are long, so it should fit even the biggest cases. I like the case that comes with it so you can keep all the unused cable in one spot. Comes with separate PCI-E 6Pin cables (4-each) so you can upgrade to two 8800 vid cards. Each had a dedicated connection on the PS. The SATA to Molex connection adaptors is also a nice touch - Keeps you from running extra cables for just one connection. Also comes with a rubber gasket to stop vibration. I did not use the gasket because it was a tight fit in my case and did not have room for it. But, I do not have any vibration.
- Cons: This thing sucks the power, I have a small UPS and it could not handle the power consumption. Drained the battery and started beeping because of low battery. But thats a problem with me and my UPS. There are a few built in cable that I did not use. i.e the 4pin CPU cable and the two 6-pin. Wish I had the option to disconnect them. I just tied them off and tucked them away out of sight.
- Other Thoughts: Over all, the best PS I ever got. System specs; Case – Antech 800, CPU – Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor, Memory - OCZ Reaper HPC Edition 4 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory, Motherboard – BFG 680i, Video Card – EVGA GeForce 8800GTX Superclocked 768MB
One of the best
- Pros: This is a single rail PSU. No user should buy into the multi rail marketing hype. Single rail systems are by default higher quality, because of the design considerations. All any multi-rail PSU's can do is have an overload on any given rail because the power is split up among a few lower power rails. You don't get the benefit of having all your available power, available when or where, you may need it. This unit has enough capacity, and cables, to handle a Tri-SLI with the new nVidia 280's. A full 80 Amps on the main 12 volt rail will handle anything and everything you may want.
This unit is well made and quite stable. The design has been well thought out. The fit and finish of the unit is excellent. I am quite pleased with this product and would recommend this product to anyone.
The 1300 Watt version of this unit has 92 Amps available on the main single rail.
- Cons: I found it disappointing that Tagan would find it necessary to bend to marketing hype, and try to infer it is a multi-rail that switches to single rail when needed. I very nearly missed this excellent product because of that. Multi-rail PSU's do not "help you distribute the load". It is marketing hype for "we combined a few cheaper rails with lower capacity" to be able to sell cheaper designs. Thats why they typically cost less.
I wish ABS would fix their product registration page on their web site.
- Other Thoughts: It should be obvious to any reader of these reviews as to why the single rail PSU's are typically more expensive. They are forced to use higher quality parts to handle the higher loads on the single rail.
This unit has it all. 80+ rating, modular design that is free of the interconnect problems, a bit of flash in the lighting design, and a single rail to deliver any and all power where ever it may be needed, and long leeds to reach anywhere inside of any possible case. I found the color coding of the connectors and sockets helps keep track of where each wire is going within the system. It's especially nice if you like to tuck and bundle the wires in the system. You will always know where the other end of the wires are. I'm using this in a Silverstone TJ-06 case, and I haven't seen any other case that has a need for any longer leeds. I do not have a single extention on any of the leeds in the system.

Great Quiet Power Supply
- Pros: I bought this power supply a little unsure of it was necessary and if it would live up to my expectations. I have been very impressed with it. It is quiet, not too hot and powers my overclocked i7 and overclocked GTX 285 just fine. It comes with all the cables you will ever need and the lights are not annoying... yet they look good. Unlike the BZ900, which unless there has been a fix doesn't work with the EVGA X58 SLI motherboard, the BZ 1100 works perfectly fine, although all the lights light up regardless of cables connected. (not sure what causes that)
And you can't beat the price I got it for... $250, it has the nicest packaging of anything... sure I have my own tools but that screwdriver was handy :)
- Cons: None!
- Other Thoughts: The cables are a little stiff, but I was still able to work them around with no problem. It is a little larger than a standard power supply, but by taking off the power supply metal cage for my P182, the power supply fit fine. Just check your case to make sure it will fit with this power supply.
Not Happy!
- Pros: Product seems well built, cables are plenty full, as great eye appeal through my side window in my case. Modular connections are great.
- Cons: After a little over a year of use with a maximum of 4 to 5 hours a day it just up and quit. I figured with a quality power supply that cost me nearly $300.00 that it had to be my mother board, cpu, or ram. After spending all the time checking the other things i finally checked the PSU and it was dead. NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS AT ALL!!!! A $300.00 power supply should last longer than a year.
- Other Thoughts: I have the 900 watt version of this. Funny how new egg no longer carries it. My system consist of: Asus maximus formula MB, q6600, 4 gb crucial balistix ddr2 800, western digital 150gb raptor x, asus dvd burner combo, 2 ati radeon 4850's in xfire. case is antec 900. Just ran the system stock, no need to over clock. I will probably RMA this product but it is past the 1 year labor warranty so it will probably cost me something. I don't have time to wait for the process. I will be buying a new PSU from a different company. Perhaps, PC power and cooling, corsair, or enermax for example.
- Pros: Great PSU, I bought it to power everything I'll ever want to put inside my computer. So far so good, constant stream of power that keeps my overclocks nice and stable. Cables are long, even for my giant COSMOS, with TONS of extra accessories.
- Cons: None so far
- Other Thoughts: System Specs- CPU Core i7 920, Video- HiS ATI 4870 1GB, HDD- 1TB WD Caviar, Motherboard- ASROCK x58 Supercomputer, RAM-Kingston HyperX DDR3 2000, Heatsink/fan- Cooler Master V8, Case- Cooler Master Cosmos 1000.
I plan on putting another 4870 (minimum) 3 more WD Caviars for RAID5 for movies, music, and general storage, and two 300GB Velociraptors in RAID 0 for my OS and games, along with other goodies to get the most out of this PSU.
