Pros: works as it should

Cons: speed is OK but not great

Pros: Nice capacity. Great value for the price.
It didn't give me any problems from the first time I used it, until now. If 8GB is what you're looking for, you don't need to look any further.

Cons: None really.
It's not intended for transferring huge capacities of data.

Pros: Protective hardware design. I didn't have to pay cash for one.

Cons: Literally topping out at 2.4MB/sec write speed. Took me 25 minutes to transfer 1.85 GB. No better way to top off a frustrating day of digital studies than to sit and watch your homework transfer for the last half hour of the day.

Other Thoughts: Luckily I got this essentially free through the resources department at my school, else I would definitely be returning this and getting my money back. Good lord are these write speeds unbearable in a 2013 Professional setting.
Get a different drive. Not this one.

Pros: Kingston is one fo the best in flash drives. Never an issue.

Cons: only 8gb... :(

Pros: Did it's job on small files before it died.

Cons: Bought this from Newegg on 9/18/2011. A little over of year of slight use and it fried.

Other Thoughts: Was trying to transfer a 4 gig file to the unit. After about 20 minutes a message popped up saying something like "the device is not plugged in" blah, blah. Since this thing only cost $10 and after hours of trying to get the drive to work I decided to take it apart and have a look. Pulled out my trusty 14x magnifying glass and noticed small burn marks on the surface of the Toshiba chip. Obviously this unit cannot handle large files without overheating. Don't think I'll be buying a Kingston thumb drive again.

Pros: Fairly fast and responsive when it worked.

Cons: Drive lasted only 4 months with very little use. Trying to get an RMA from Kingston is a nightmare. They want me to "Please provide the revision numbers of the part that resembles 9912345-123.A00LF, this is to confirm the drives authenticity. The revision is located directly on the drive." (which I can't find these numbers located anywhere on the drive) AND "Because your product carries a Limited time warranty, we need you to provide a copy of the purchase receipt in order to validate and transfer the remaining warranty to your replacement." (which I can't find)

Other Thoughts: Kingston's 5 year warranty is worthless. Their RMA process is terrible. While requesting an RMA, their system doesn't recognize part number DT101G2/8GB as valid. You MUST keep the receipt. I guess you need a microshop to find the revision numbers they want. I'll never buy a Kingston product again !!

Other Thoughts: After taking a very close look I was finally able to see where the ID stamp was placed on the female part of the flash drive. You need a microscopy to be able to read them. The part # or ID # are really worn out from being placed in the USB drive and then pulled out. So the drives are NOT conterfeit! But I am still working with Kingston as to why it takes these two drives about 40 sec. to load and my older Kingston flash drive takes 2 sec. to load. I have read almost all of the reviews and no one else seems to have this problem.

Other Thoughts: I bought two drives back in June 2012. Both drivers were slow to load at or around 40+ sec. I wrote to Kingston 3 days ago asking why such a slow start up. They came back and asked what the part # was. I looked over the drives and couldn't find any numbers located on the drives. I wrote back to Kingston telling them about no ID numbers on drives. They wrote back to me today and told me these MAY, remember I said MAY be counterfeit drives. Again I have no idea if they are or are not, just what Kingston told me in their email. I did send the invoice number to Kingstons counterfeit team. I also sent a email to Newegg letting them know about this problem with my order. This is the first time I have run across a problem like this with Newegg. I feel they are a trusted company. And I have done bussiness with them for many years, and will in the future. FYI: I do have one other Kingston flash drive and it does have a product ID # and loads in under 2 sec.

Pros: Purchased two over a year ago, both are still working well and the price was cheap (at the time).

Cons: Slow write speeds at around 2-3 mb/s. Even slower when working with multiple small files like images. These speeds mean that it takes almost an hour to write 8gb of data onto the flash drive
