5 out of 5 eggsWorked in Dell PowerEdge 2950 & IBM x3650

Pros: Worked great on both a Dell PowerEge 2950 and an IBM x3650. Brought them both to 32GB total.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks in Dell Precision T5400

Pros: Works as advertised: DDR2 667 (PC2 5300), Fully Buffered ECC memory.
MemTest86 shows CAS 5-5-5-15.
Speed tested at 2998 MB/s @ 332 MHz

lm-sensors (linux) shows this ram 10°C cooler than the Dell ram that came with the workstation! (Runs around 65°C for me.)

Cons: Slightly slower than 1GB sticks... I had 4 1GB stock Dell sticks in my T5400, they ran at 3078 MB/s. When I added the two 4GB Crucial sticks, I tested at 2998 MB/s (via memtest86) for all 12 GB. (Same CAS and MHz.) I'm not entirely sure if the slight speed difference is due to the ram or the motherboard or the overall temperature increase in my case from adding more ram.

Other Thoughts: I have a total of 8 slots; for dual channel, I must install in pairs. My original 4 1GB sticks had head spreaders, but were spaced one slot apart. I added these two 4GB sticks (also with heat spreaders) in between the 1GB sticks. This made the heat rise for the three 1GB sticks they were next to, but these 4GB Crucial sticks remain relatively cool.

Meaning: this ram runs cooler than stock Dell ram.

I also run linux and have had no problems addressing 100% of the memory.

I have also purchased multiple Crucial products in the past and have been satisfied with their performance and reliability. It is worth it to me for the peace-of-mind to pay a few extra dollars over the cheapest generic brand. I've heard from first-person (US employee) accounts that Micron (Crucial) does a great job of testing their memory before it hits the market.

5 out of 5 eggsCrucial verifies it works with HP ml350 G5

Pros: As a whole very reliable memory, when I have overclocked with crucial it is always conservative with its marketing. This is in a server environment and is rock solid.

Cons: None other that the thermal issues with large sticks of ram, but that is inherent to the technology not crucial, make sure you have some air movement around these sticks

Other Thoughts: When you grow tired of chasing the lowest price sticks of memory, an figure out that your time was truly wasted, you will eventually only deal with the best, I believe that is crucial for what I do with servers and workstations.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast server memory. Great for virtualization and high-throughput workloads.

Cons: FB-DIMMs in general runs rather hot, and they will need to have adequate airflow.

Other Thoughts: Out of the 52 sticks we purchased only 1 has failed in the 4 months we have been using them.

Make sure they have proper cooling, ours generally report idling around 61~73C and can get up into the low 80C's under a heavy load.
