The Koutech 3-in-1 card reader is just like a thumb drive, only your get to choose its memory media! This reader is ultra-slim, so it fits in your pocket, and it's rugged enough to handle life in your backpack. This all-in-one reader handles FAT16, FAT32, and NTFS files on Secure Digital, Multi-Media Card, Memory Stick, and Memory Stick Pro media without an adapter.
With optional adapter, it can also read miniSD, microSD, T-Flash, RS-MMC, MS Duo, MS Pro Duo media. Reader supports Windows 98SE, 2000, ME, Server 2003 or later, and XP; Linux; and Mac OS 9 and higher. This little green powerhouse makes it quick and painless to transfer, store, and transport your data!
Cons: No protection for memory card. Also, though it doesn't really matter, I find it to be somewhat ugly looking.
Other Thoughts: This works just fine and I'm happy with it. However I do prefer other models which provide a protective cover over both the memory card and the USB connector. This does come with a slide-over protector for the USB connector, but it's a tiny clear plastic sleeve which can be easily lost. If you're planning to throw this in your backpack, I'd choose a different model with better protection, but if you are more careful with it you'll be fine.

Decent card reader

Pros: Pretty compact unit that you can take with you. It works!
Cons: It is kinda bulkier than it could have been. Might take 2 USB spaces as you can deduce by the pictures. There are no little pretty pictures to show you how the SD/MS card should be inserted. That said, you can't put a SD card upside down.
Other Thoughts: I have not tried it with a memory stick since I don't have one. I have been testing the speed and for some reason I only achieve 3.5 MB/s using either normal or 50X SD cards. I tried plugging it in directly (USB 2.0) or though USB hub and it gives me the same result. It measures 3" x 1 3/8" x 1/2".

Cons: worthless....won't read SDHC 4gb card
Other Thoughts: Sure, I should have read closer. Why do they sell this garbage anymore. I didn't think to check to see if it read SDHC any more than I checked to see if it existed in our space time.

Pros: Compact
Cons: Sloppy workmanship causes loose hold on cards inserted CONSTANTLY drops connection - conx & read lights go out Fits USB slots poorly - lots of wiggle room
Other Thoughts: Many buyers have issues with these small USB readers. While some work the problems are real. Koutech, the most expensive of these budget models, seems to suffer more than most. The manufacturer never returned my emails describing the problems. I'm rethinking these pocket readers as a breed of tech.
