1 out of 5 eggsDied during first use

Pros: Brand Name, USB3

Cons: I bought it for the brand name and USB3. Stopped working during first copy and is not event recognized by multiple computers. It gets got when inserted so I think its fried inside.
Light wont even come on.
Attempting to RMA back through San Disk website which is not a fun thing.

5 out of 5 eggsHappy

Pros: Speed baby!

Cons: Could not make this particular drive into a bootable drive for ISO. I had to purchase a separate drive for this. This doesn't take away the fact that this drive is a wonderful choice.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding USB 3.0 flash drive.

Pros: Excellent transfer speeds. Saving large amounts of time compared to my former USB 2.0 drive.

Cons: Bootability issues abound with USB 3.0 drives - but it's no fault of this particular drive or manufacturer. As UEFI becomes more commonplace, this should be less of a hassle.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: The drive arrived quickly - within two days (not the 5+ days indicated)! I tested the drive and the speeds were at least as advertised. It is fast and moves the required files as I wished. It is thin enough that I can use it while using it with my other ports without interference.

Cons: None thus far.

Other Thoughts: The company shipped the drive to me fast. The mechanism for extruding the USB connector seems okay although I am not a fan of these types of mechanisms. It does positively lock. I am using the drive to move three large (15 GB total) Outlook PST files from desk to laptop for travel.

4 out of 5 eggsGood device, until it dies

Pros: This drive does the job very well, has been detected by computers virtually every single time without hiccups, and transfers speeds was fantastic (under the host's capabilities)

Cons: It finally died after one month and a half of daily usage, see the other thoughts section. This might NOT be the drive's fault. An RMA is currently underway with SanDisk.

Other Thoughts: I'm an IT guy, and I have used this drive on customers PC on a daily basis to diagnose, clean or otherwise service PCs in a computer shop. Basically every PC I have to touch has used my USB key, and I use this drive in a write once, read *ALOT* of times, where I have ISO's and Live OSes being booted off this USB key.

Considering the (ab)use above (read: INTENSIVE usage), this might have shortened the drive's lifespan dramatically, even if this is basically "read only", albeit alot of reads. Just to be on the safe side, I always safely eject the drive off PCs, even though this might just alter the partition and not the physical drive.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Flash

Pros: Awesome ... best flash drive I have ever owned.
I have seen read speeds up to 225mb/s
write speeds of 130mb/s
Nice king ring space
Snappy usb header
good looking
your geek friends will envy its speed
capless ... so you wont crush the usb head

Cons: I wish the plastic did not scratch so easily.
Someone should make a flash drive out of gorilla glass like the iPhone 3/4. It would be indestructible and the best looking drive ever made.
even though it is capless, they should still provide a cover to protect it from water, crud, etc.

Other Thoughts: The speeds are highly dependent on your source/destination drive. My Samsung 840 can copy from this drive at nearly 1gb/s. 1gb files move instantaneously.
My 10k raptor raid setup can transfer at over 220mb/s
My Toshiba 2tb can transfer at 170mb/s
USB chipsets make a difference too.
I tested on 2 different etron usb 3.0 chipsets. one integrated and one pci-e, the speeds were roughly the same.
USB 2.0 speeds top at around 80mb/s.

5 out of 5 eggsSo Tight!

Pros: 11 out of 10. 180/110MB read/write with ATTO Disk Benchmark. SanDisk states up to 190MB/s read and 110MB/s write and my scores are right in line with that! I installed a Windows 7 .iso to the drive to boot from and I'm about to test an install to an SSD. I am about to be amazed. Also, I booted a live Linux .iso in 45ish seconds, as if it were installed on a HDD. The work it performs in USB 2.0 slots is great too! Caps everything at 35/35MB read/write. The USB lever switch is solid feeling and feels "the 4-letter word for risque" when I use it. I. Love. This. Drive.

Cons: Why it didn't come with a lanyard is beyond me. Really, just throw one in haha. I have a lanyard for it though. The drive is too awesome to drop an Egg. It deserves every Egg. Sandisk did very well.

Other Thoughts: I don't use the 2GB of Cloud storage that comes with the purchase of the drive. Seriously SanDisk should just include a lanyard instead if you ask me. :) Also I have not used the encryption feature and probably won't. But seems like a good feature nevertheless.

Shipping from Newegg this time took a while but I patiently waited for this gem. Please don't hesitate, just buy the drive!

The formatted capacity is 29.7GB.

1 out of 5 eggsTill death do us part - which happened

Pros: When it worked, it stored a lot, and it moved it quickly.

Cons: Bricked. For the month preceding it's demise, it would occasionally lock up computers when it was plugged in. Last week though, it finally became unreadable. While some computers won't even recognize it now, others will say that it needs to be reformatted to be usable. If you attempted a reformat, it will fail.

I'm now out around $50 (luckily, most of my data is backed up). I got some benefit from it, but < 6 months is not worth it for the money. Very disappointed. I paid extra money for the name "SanDisk" because I thought I was getting a quality product. Lesson learned.

Other Thoughts: Don't waste your money. If you're thinking this drive will somehow be magically better because it's a brand name, you might end up sadly mistaken. I would recommend another brand.

5 out of 5 eggsFast FAST F A S T ! ! ! !

Pros: Plug and play operation, absolutely flawless integration. It is faster than some older hard drives!!

Cons: Sensitive push button mechanism requires a bit of getting use to. If any pressure is applied the usb interface will retreat backward.

Other Thoughts: Extreme is a fitting name for this device. I tested my old sandisk 2.0 with a 450 MB file... and compared the two, 2.0 was 27 seconds while the extreme 3.0 was instantaneous with zero loading screen... I was amazed.
