Stupid question, does the cap fit on the back?

I was able to fit the cap on the back, but it is a rather snug fit. It does seem to get a little easier after doing it a couple times.

Is this drive backwards compatible with USB 2.0?

Yup! It will work fine on a USB 2.0 slot. The only diference is that it will mot achieve full USB 3.0 speeds, just those of USB 2.0. I recently picked it up at Newegg and it works fine!

Does this drive have an activity light?

No it doesn't but its a great drive very fast 3.0 works great and even as a 2.0 it is super speedy

What would be a good place to keep an expensive flash drive like this when you're not using it? I have a bunch of cheap usbs scattered all over the place downstairs.

This is NOT an "expensive flash drive"! Prices for high-capacity flash drives have plummeted in recent months. If you keep your other "cheap" USBs in one place, then put this one with them. Just put all your USB thumb drives in a small box and keep it next to your computer(s). That way, you'll always know where ALL of them are, including your 128 GB drive!
