4 out of 5 eggsGreat Great Deal

Pros: Very reasonable and good speed, this was a great deal on some very good memory. No Problems to speak of and it works great on my Canon 40D. I am able to set my capture to Raw+Large Jpeg and still had enough memory to film my entire week fishing trip. Bought two so I had a backup but really only need one for a week of mega picture taking

Cons: None that I can think of there are some cards which are a bit faster but it is faster than my camera the only use for faster would be transferring to my computer.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy this card!

Pros: none-since it doesn't work and there is poor customer service.

Cons: Corrupted files and several card readers will not read the data.Several other manufacturers cards are read properly by these readers.

Sent the card to Ritek and they sent it back "fixed".....It wasn't.Now they ignore my emails.Horrible service.

Other Thoughts: Do you your self a favor and don't take the bait of cheap price.

2 out of 5 eggsSubstandard CF card for SLR.

Pros: High capacity. That's about it.

Cons: Slow read / write times. Camera buffer write sequences overwhelm the card.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this card as a backup for my Lexars for my trip to Italy. I used this in my Nikon D300. I haven't had any corruption issues yet. However, I am disappointed with the read/write speeds. At 6 fps, the D300 w Lexars doesn't lag. However, the Ridata card slows to a crawl when reading from the camera buffer so you end up at 1-2 fps after you've filled up the camera's buffer. For single shots, it's okay. but for action photos, you'll find better cards out there.

2 out of 5 eggsCard NOT compatible with Digital SLR

Pros: It is priced well, and I have used other RiDATA cards that worked very well!

Cons: If you check RiDATA's website, you will learn that this card is NOT compatible with many digital SLR cameras (such as Nikon and Cannon). They state in a consumer notice, "For Digital SLR camera users (such as Nikon, Canon SLR DSCs etc.) we recommend using the Ridata Single Layer cell (SLC) based CF cards for these high performance cameras. We suggest using the Ridata 150x or 266x CF SLC cards for maximum performance. It has come to our attention that while using the “continuous shot” mode and Multi Layer Cell (MLC) cards such as the Ridata 233X CF Card, problems may occur due to the slower data writing limitations of the Multi Layer Cell (MLC) specifications and users may experience an image corrupt problem."

Other Thoughts: You need to purchase the single layer cell cards that are formated for 150X or 266X. This card is no good when used in the continuous shooting mode on a digital SLR.

FINAL THOUGHT:
I have contacted Ridata about an exchange but have yet to receive an answer. I think that Newegg should go to bat for it's customers who have purchased this card & work out an exchange program with the manufacturer.

1 out of 5 eggsCard #3 and still no luck

Pros: None

Cons: I now have my 3rd card from my returns. Corrupts about 2%-5% of the photos. Better than the original 30%, but sheesh. These things don't deserve to be on the market.

Other Thoughts: After getting my second return, I took around 300 shots on the card. This one is better than the previous cards with only a 2-5% corruption rate, but if I can't trust the card, I can't use it. Not sure what to do anymore but get my money back. All the other cards I had on the shoot were fine. This one is the only failure, as was the case with the with the previous Ridata cards. I saw the statement below from the company, but this isn't a situation where one falls through the cracks in Quality Control. Three cards, all defective, is just unacceptable on any level. Maybe Ridata needs to make another statement about how they plan to address Quality Control if they hope people will purchase these cards.

1 out of 5 eggsReplacement card still corrupts files

Pros: At this point - none.

Cons: The previous card had a corruption rate of around 30% of my photos. I RMA'ed it and received a prompt replacement from Newegg. The problem is that while it doesn't corrupt the photos at 30%, I am still seeing a loss of around 15% from an average shoot where I take 150-200 shots. Of course, as luck would have it, the corrupted ones were some of the best from the days shooting. RMA#2 coming up.

Other Thoughts: I really do think Ridata has some quality control issues with these cards on the manufacturing side. Forget the speed issue as my camera buffer can handle it (a Nikon D300), but you just can't have corrupted photos, no matter what. I have purchased their DVD's in the past and they worked great, but I am very disappointed in these memory cards. All they are doing is hurting their reputation.

2 out of 5 eggsSomething is wrong with it

Pros: 15.1 GB of memory.
It did work in my UMPC as a hard drive

Cons: I am very sure RiDATA are saying the truth when they say 233X but that doesn't Guarantee 35MB/s that will depend on the control and the bandwidth the card can provide most likely UP to 35 Mb/s which for it to happen it has to be under certain conditions,

otherwise very slow it feels like it hang as if it is waiting for something or very very slow transfer.

4 out of 5 eggsDo not fret

Pros: Fast read 233x

Cons: Slow write 100x

Other Thoughts: This is a great card works well on Canon xti. But the write speed is not recommended for burst shooting in raw.

5 out of 5 eggsValue. Fast.

Pros: Fast. UDMA4. I also have a 150x 4gb card which has been to 3 continents without a hiccup over the past two years.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: RiData's website lacks info, but they have always been fast to respond to technical questions.

5 out of 5 eggsRidata 16GB Lightning 16GB CF card

Pros: 233x is true; Fast, dependable, inexpensive. Loaded 15 sequential 14 MP photos before buffer. I have found that Ridata is the best value, and very dependable. I am a professional photograher, and just don't want to pay high$ any more Lexar (that have given me problems), for example.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I've used Ridata (Ritek)for years; only the GREEN cards sometimes require re-insertion, etc., after error message, so EVER buy one of those.
