1 out of 5 eggsLipstick on a pig

Pros: Snappy looking and rugged case

Cons: Pretty much junk. Quit working after about 6 weeks of light use. Drive was always stopped for removal. Became unreadable and would not format. Would not fit all USB jacks.

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't Fit

Pros: Good capacity and works ok.

Cons: Doesn't fit in some USB drives especially on the front of my computer. The length of the blade is too short.

Other Thoughts: It was inexpensive.

4 out of 5 eggsIts small!

Pros: This is a great thumb drive to put on your keyring or to toss around in you bag its nice and small made of metal and has a hard rubber grip on each side. The metal is very nice and i feel like i could do a lot to this drive to break it.

Cons: This drive is slower than i would have thought. if you move files larger than 500mb often look into a faster drive.
The little slider to get the contacts out can be hard if u dont use your finger nail.

3 out of 5 eggsNice but SLOW

Pros: Short and flat which makes it easy to carry on my keychain.

Cons: Very Slow, still usable for me but very annoying. Also becuase the chassis is so wide and the USB slides out it wont fir in the side USB slots on a Dell Latitude D530. However they will fit in the slots on the back!

Other Thoughts: I just wish it was faster, I really like the size and feel of it though!

Cons: As you can see from the 5 tests that I ran, the checksums differed in the first test with no errors reported to stderr or to the system logs (FC9). Perhaps it was some unreported self healing by the flash device?

Other Thoughts: I dd'd the image to a hard disk so that I could md5sum compare afterwards. (looked good)

The HD has read/write performance of over 110 MiB/s, so it is unlikely that writing the image file there, rather than dev null had any effect on the benchmark.

Nice product for twenty one ninety nine (10/10/08 Newegg px)

4 out of 5 eggsOdd connector

Pros: Tiny and compact. Definantly one of the smallest I have ever seen! Good rubber grips and solid overall feel.

Cons: Like someone else mentioned, the "connector" is only a single piece of plastic with the gold leads on them. There is no shroud or guide! Nothing like a normal USB male connector would have. Think of a normal USB stick or cable, and strip off the shoud. Now, strip off the plastic guide, leaving only the single piece with the connectors on it. THAT is what pops out. And yes, you can easily install it upside down with no guide. Doesn't hurt anything, just you notice nothing is found.

Also, the side slider/lock is very hard to move. Ok for my girlfriend who has fingernails, pretty tough for someone who doesn't.

Other Thoughts: The 3" strap is useless, like someone else's comment.

She thought it was cute though. It gets a 4-star because there is no pictures of the device "open", showing you the cheap connector.

2 out of 5 eggsDurable but speed a real problem

Pros: Very small, Metal construction is extremely durable. has a solid attachment to keychain.

Cons: Sloooow, I purchased this product for more space on my portable apps installation, it's access and transfer speed is terrible. A 2 gb transfer took roughly 15 minutes.

Other Thoughts: This is advertised as a vista readyboost product but I cannot imagine that it would work well for that purpose. The drive is too slow. Also, Devices larger than 4 GB will have only 4 GB used for ReadyBoost, leaving you with half the drive space wasted. Get a 4 gb drive of a different brand if you're planning to use this for readyboost.

4 out of 5 eggsGood but slow

Pros: It works. It's small. It has no cap to lose. It's cheap, so i wasn't expecting much more.

Cons: It's slow. Did a test comparison with a Sandisk Cruzer Micro. To copy a 900MB folder it took two minutes 10 seconds on the Sandisk and three minutes 25 seconds on the A-data. No metal housing for the USB prong. Specifically ordered the darker one on Newegg and got an annoying bright white one.

Other Thoughts: The USB prong has no metal housing like you would assume a USB drive would. So, you can insert the wrong way and often will. Also since it has no housing once inserted it tilts to an angle and is a very "soft" connection. One would guess it would be very easy to snap off, so be careful.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Unit was unacceptable.

Cons: Unit has extremely cheap USB connector, had to hold it at an angle to get it to connect at all. I considered this to be a fatal flaw and returned the item.
