Cons: not as fast as i would think it would be. Using the free version of Terracopy 2.27 on a USB 2.0 port i get 13 MB/s (read) 4 MB/s (write) on a USB 3.0 port i get 28MB/s (read) 5.1 MB/s (write). where as my old 250 gig external Seagate drive on USB 2.0 usually does right at a solid 22MB/s (read) dont remember the write speed and i let someone use the drive so cant test right now. (this is a mix of files from 1k text file to a almost 400 meg video file, a total of 3618 files, 937 folders and a total of 649 megs) Other Thoughts: the USB 3.0 performance may be slower due to my mobo being older and one of the first that supported USB 3.0 and it not really part of the chipset, i think would be the way to describe it, the way it works it gets initialized during the BIOS portion of boot and actually makes the BIOS portion of booting take longer than actually loading Win7x64 thanks to the SSD i installed a while back. Perfect for installing operating systems off of, or transferring large files between computers. Cons: None. Other Thoughts: I use this as a recovery boot stick with WinPE. Very clean. It doesn't try to install drivers or "management software". Also very solid feeling with a decent design. Cons: None yet.
