5 out of 5 eggsWooHoo!

Pros: Eveything

Cons: Nothing!

Other Thoughts: I honestly never write reviews about products but I had all my schoolwork in here. I lost my flash drive and had my resume, schoolwork, etc on it and assumed I lost all 8gigs worth of work. My roommate checked the washer and it survived after 3 cycles of wash!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat read speed, Disappointing write

Pros: Price, space, read speed, style, feel, light
$15 isn't a bad price for what you get. It is small enough to be out of the way, but large enough to not wonder where it ran off to. Aluminum casing feels rubbery (in a good way). Blue light is a little bright, but not nearly as bad as many I have seen.

Cons: Write speed, and as others have noted there is no place to put the cap.
This is a con about people, not the device: There are many forums claiming that if you go in the device settings and tell the device to run in 'performance' mode then you will get better throughput. This is true for external HDDs, but not for flash drives. What this mode does is allow windows to write cashe the drive, and perform maintenance such as defragmenting which will keep external HDDs fast, but will show no benefit for flash drives, and may even lower the lifespan of the device! Not to mention you have to use the silly 'safely remove device' icon, where as by the default setting you can just pull it and run (so long as you are not actively writing to the drive). I just wanted to throw that out there.

Other Thoughts: I got this to replace a $5 4 year old 2GB store branded flash drive. Not surprisingly this blows that out of the water! For read speeds I am getting a fairly consistent 25-30MB/s which is as fast as USB2 can go, so no complaint there. However, I am annoyed at the write speed. I am only getting 2-6MB/s. Granted this is about double the speed of my old drive (ya... that is sad), but I had been expecting somewhere in the range of 10-14MB/s which this falls far short of. I may try to align the cells at some point to get a little more speed out of it, but I doubt it will improve much.
At any rate it will suit my needs very well as this is mostly for sneaker-net between church and home, and it is much larger and faster than the old drive. And while I am feeling a little poor at the moment I am not going to cry over $15 when I really wont be writing to it all that often.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive

Pros: Love this jump drive, very sturdy, decent speeds and nice and smallish.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Love that it comes with a lanyard that isn't crazy stupid looking (grey with ocz website on it). Cap is nice, no place to store it but that is hardly a con for me as I rarely remember to put the cap on the back anyways.

For the price, I could not have chosen a better jumpdrive.

1 out of 5 eggsVery disappointed

Pros: -8GB
-Decent read speed(20MB/s)

Cons: -Horrible read speed(3MB/s)

Other Thoughts: I bought one of these with the orange LED last year and it had great R/W speeds, but I just received one of the blue LED models and the performance is absolutely horrible.

If you can get one of the older models, go for it, but don't waste your money on the blue LED ones.

3 out of 5 eggsDeclining Quality

Pros: I have a mix of 8GB and 16GB models. The units I bought about two years ago are great. Very well made and very fast.

Cons: The more recent units now 6 months old that I bought at a local store because NewEgg was not carrying them for some time have all been slower and have are coming apart inside. The quality of the internals is definitely in doubt and I won't be buying them any more.

Other Thoughts: It's a shame they have gone cheap and ruined a good product. They were worth the premium at 2 to 3x the price of a standard comparable capacity flash drive for their durability and performance.

3 out of 5 eggsSlow

Pros: -Got it for free with a Radeon 6950.
-8GB is plenty of storage.
-Read speeds of around 20MB/s.

Cons: Absolutely terrible write speed. Averages around 2MB/s, sometimes going as high as 5MB/s and other times dropping to 1MB/s. Compared to the Sandisk 8GB which writes at 19MB/s and Kingston 2GB that writes at 28MB/s, the performance is pathetic.

Other Thoughts: It does what it says it does and is small. Just don't expect it to write quickly.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor performance...

Pros: They were on sale when I bought them (2).

Cons: Slow write speeds, mediocre read speeds... tried both FAT32 and NTFS. Could not partition the drives either. Received no response from a post for help increasing performance and partitioning them in the OCZ forums.

Other Thoughts: Returned to Newegg, planning to get either Mushkin Mulholland Enhanced drives. Also returned an unopened 4gb drive. If only they hadn't changed anything on these. Should have stayed with the orange indicator specs... mine were blue.
