1 out of 5 eggsDied after 4 months

Pros: No pros.

Cons: microSD card died after 4 months using it as a fixed drive in a Win 8 tablet (cache operations written in microSD to improve speed).

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We apologize for any inconvenience. It is strange the card abruptly failed after months of use. This microSD card should work extremely well in devices that can support SDXC flash cards. The high capacity and high speed is perfect for the latest devices and tablets that may need large capacity. HD videos, files, and software can take up a good amount of space so 64GB of Ultra High Speed is perfect. If the card is not working properly, send it in for RMA exchange and we can have a new one out to you shortly. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome, as G.Skill usually is

Pros: Good price if you catch a sale, great build quality.

Cons: Hmmm, it won't do the dishes. Also, G.Skill cards don't come with plastic cases. I'd be willing to chip in a few extra cents for a memory card case, so G.Skill, if you're reading this, start giving out cases, will ya?

Other Thoughts: I have been buying G.Skill memory cards for quite some time (this is my 5th) always from The Egg. Never had a problem and I don't expect one.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: It works in my nvidia shield tablet

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Not much else to say. It's a full-sized 64GB (not 64GiB) micro sd card that works. I didn't test the speed. Note: 64GB is 64*1,000^4, and 64 GiB would be 64*1,024^4. Don't complain that windows shows it as a little less than 64,000,000,000 bytes.

It comes preformatted as exfat primary partition, with an ms-dos partition table. If you device doesn't support that, reformat it. My device handled it fine, but I reformatted it anyway.

5 out of 5 eggsThat'll do, SD

Pros: Does what it needs to, which is expand storage. Works great on my Nokia Lumina 521. I got two due to the low price, and the other is going in a camera.

Cons: Nothing, until the day it craps out on me. Even then, its got LIFETIME WARRANTY plastered on the packaging bigger than the card itself.

Other Thoughts: Some devices have 'soft' inputs for microSD, as in you cant really tell if its in the socket fully. As long as you don't strongarm these lil puppies you should be good though.

4 out of 5 eggsG.Skills!

Pros: so, I got this new SD card on monday, put it on my new phone, format and connected to computer to copy some pictures/songs and it's working perfectly.

Cons: none so far.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear this high capacity, high performance card is working perfectly in your smart phone. This SDXC card can perform extremely well with devices that can support it. In some cases, updating the firmware is necessary to improve performance and compatibiilty. With 64GB, you should never have to worry about low capacity. UHS-1 Class 10 will allow you to record live HD video without a problem. For any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

3 out of 5 eggsG.Skill 64GB microSDXC Card - Nothing Special

Pros: - Inexpensive on Sale
- Works in Samsung Galaxy S5 Phone

Cons: - Slow Read/Write Speeds compared to other Class 10 Cards
- Only 58GB of Usable Memory
- Does not come with either a USB card reader, or a microSD to Std SD card converter. I had to use one that came with another micro SD I previously purchased.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this card to use in a Samsung Galaxy S5 cellphone. The phone can take up to 128GB cards but those are very expensive at this time (US$113 - US$143 at Newegg). These G.Skill 64GB cards were on sale for US$27.99 at Newegg so I thought I would try them. The US$ per GB was quite attractive.

These micro SDXC cards are rated as Class 10 cards which means that they should be able to read/write at >10MBps. These cards do that - barely.

When I put the card in a card reader and connect it into a super speed USB 3.0 port on a laptop then try to read/write a large .mp4 file to the card, I am only able to get a little over 11MBps write speed and about 11.8MBps read speed. That was with the card formatted to NTFS with a sector size 8K. I also installed the card in the S5 phone and formatted it (to what ever format the phone does) then checked the read/write speed of the video file with the phone connected to the laptop through a USB 3.0 port. The card read/write speeds are even less that way. The best I could get was a little over 10MBps. This is definitely slower than the Team 32GB card that I had put in the phone originally. With that card I was getting read/write speeds of 22Mbps/19MBps.

I also tried a Sandisk 32GB microSDXC card to compare read/write speeds. The Sandisk UHS card was a little faster than the Team card with read/write speeds of 23MBps/20.1MBps. Both the 32GB cards I tried were much faster than the G.Skill card.

Why should the read/write speed make a difference when the card is in a cell phone; you may ask? The speed is sufficient to use for normal apps without the phone slowing down at all. The answer is that loading videos in the phone takes a LONG time. Loading a 1GB .mp4 video takes about 100 - 120 seconds to load (1.6 - 2.0 minutes). If you want to go on a trip and load up enough videos to last, it takes a while to put them into the card.

Loading music files is much slower. I could not load music (.mp3) files at much faster than about 350KBps.

I experience some slowdown when taking repeated pictures quickly with the camera set at highest resolution (It is a 16Mpixel camera in the S5). There was also some problems taking High Definition 1080p video with the phone. The write speed to the card just isn't sufficient to keep up.

Being able to play games that are loaded from the card is also more subject to choppiness or hangups.

I have not experienced any data corruption issues or memory loss from the card. I have only had the card a week so I cannot speak to the longevity of the card. Card installation was no problem at all.

In conclusion I will say that this card is ok for electronic devices like MP3 players or cellphones with lower performance where speed is not quite so important. If you have a high performance device you should consider spending a little more money and getting a faster microSDXC card.

Dear Customer

Glad to hear you got a good deal on the memory card and it is working well in your smart phone. With regards to capacity, any storage device will have a reserved capacity for compatiblity data so that the actual useable amount is always lower. This particular card is not advertised to come with a adapter/converter which is why one was not included. This is a Class 10 card, so if you use a program like CrystalDiskMark or ATTO Disk Benchmark, the sequential write speeds should be well over 10MB/s. If you feel the card is not up to par, feel free to send it in for RMA exchange to see if a new one works better. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Value and Compatible with Asus T100

Pros: Works with my Asus T100 tablet. Previous card by another brand did not work in the tablet but worked in my phone/computer/Tegra tablet. I would buy again.

Cons: Not a real con but kinda slow compared to my other card.

Other Thoughts: Hope this saves time and frustration of folks with the bay trail based tablets. Intel has an issue with compatibility with UH-1 sd cards. I bought three, they tested out fine but the first card I bought didn't work in my Asus T100. This one works but not as fast as the other.
