Corsair's FlashVoyager GT USB flash drives are designed to stand up to anything the Delta Quadrant can throw at it. Okay, maybe they aren't that rugged but they are designed to stand up to more than the average level of abuse. The all rubber housing increases durability and water resistance. No, we don't recommend taking it swimming but the casing may help protect it if you leave it in your pocket to get washed.

Once you plug it into your system you really see the benefits. It's ReadyBoost compatible so you can boost the performance of your Vista machine without even opening the cover. There's also the pre-loaded True Crypt 4.3 encryption software that uses an AES-256 bit encryption algorithm to keep your data safe.

  • newegg 4GB Storage Capacity The CORSAIR Flash Voyager GT flash drive features a stunning 4GB storage capacity, perfect for transporting music, digital images, presentations and more.
  • newegg Excellent Compatibility The CORSAIR Flash Voyager GT USB 2.0 flash drive provides full plug-and-play functionality in Windows Vista, XP, 2000, ME, Linux 2.4 and later as well as Mac OS 9, X and later operating systems.

4 out of 5 eggsSo, so

Pros: - It's not as big and bulky as it looked in the picture.
- Security on this is awsome
- Did notice speed changes with the Speed boost used on Vista (only works with Vista)
- The help site for useing TrueCrypt was easy to understand
-Write and copy speeds are really close to what they advertise, which is pretty fast and close to true.
-Switching between Windows and Dabien (Linux based) is a cool feature but does take some work when it comes to my distrobution of Dabien.

Cons: - TrueCrypt is a good security tool to use but it is a free download and can be put on any device that dosen't come with it already.
-I did see when SpeedBoost was being used that the speed was higher by looking at one of my "Gadgets" in the "Sidebar" with my Vista laptop however, couldn't tell the difference.
-To use SpeedBoost, you need to leave some space available on the thumb drive, takeing away from storage capacity.
-If your a Linux user then useing TrueCrypt is some what similar with mounting and creating partictions "Drives or Containers"(how it's refered to by them)
-Useing TrueCrypt did take some looking into on how to set it up and a few reformats before getting it right. It may or may not take you this much effort.
-When it comes to "Safely removeing" with windows Vista gets a little tricky since SpeedBoost is always being used, Windows dosen't want to stop it even when you stop the process that is useing it.
-Little hard to use on well protected networks

Other Thoughts: -This product is good if your carying around secrets regarding Area 51 or National Security documents. Which I'm not.
-TrueCrypt is a free download from there website.
-Some knowleged and termanology regarding encryption would be helpful before useing. If your not real familiar with these words or protocols then you can easily read about them or google anything you don't understand.
-Takes time to Mount created partitions.
-Over all a good product I don't know if I can justify the price since there "Security" software is a free download from TrueCrypt.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have owned this product for about 6 or 7 months, and I love it. I mostly use it in my car, I most of my music on it and then plug it into my stereo witha USB cable. I have had no problems and I read from it daily while I drive. None of the files on it have ever been corrupted that I can tell. It is durable. I dropped it in a puddle once and it still work.

Cons: None that I can think of. I guess something to connect the cap to the drive may be nice.

Other Thoughts: This has a 10 year warrantee. If you lose the cap, they will give you a new one. It's fast. It's reliable. It gets detected quickly. Go google it and read some in-depth reviews. You will not be dissapointed.

4 out of 5 eggsGenerally very satisfied

Pros: Fast, fast, fast - this was one of my primary criteria. Very good price for size and performance. Easy to find in my briefcase. Rubber outer case may protect it from bumps.

Cons: Kind of large. I'm a little concerned that rubber loop at end will tear.

Other Thoughts: Comes with TrueCrypt... but that is a free download.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: i'm using it for Vista ReadyBoost, and it exceeds all recommended specifications for ReadyBoost. has worked great so far.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: if you have Vista, use ReadyBoost, and get something like this that has the throughput necessary to take full advantage of ReadyBoost technology.

2 out of 5 eggsGood while it lasts

Pros: Fast speed

Cons: The cap was lost after only a month, it easily pops off of the drive. The drive failed after 5 months. Could not be detected at all on multiple systems. Had to RMA with Corsair.

Other Thoughts: The cap needs to be attached somehow so that it can't be lost. Can't back a product that fails after only 5 months, but we'll see how long the replacement lasts.

2 out of 5 eggscorrupt!!!

Pros: waterproof. fast.

Cons: first of, it feels like you could bend it in half, only thing protecting this is some rubber. didnt give me a good feeling. the loop is just rubber as well, so it IS going to break if you have it on your keychain..

2nd, this started corrupting my files out fo the box. what gives? RMA into corsair now. definaly returning it for a refund.

Other Thoughts: its not worth it. buy a $20 drive. you will be happier.

2 out of 5 eggsWorst Drive I have had

Pros: Fast, Very Fast. When it works. 10 year warranty luckily cause you'll need it. RMA turn around time is quick.

Cons: I am on my second RMA with this item. The first one lasted 7 months , the second only 3 weeks. I have never had this many problems with any other flash drive. Worst one ever. Had to fight with the RMA techs to have them replace the second one.

Other Thoughts: Even though im getting ANOTHER replacement im going to get the next fastest one at least I wont lose my data with that one.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat drive!!

Pros: I was slightly weary about spending so much on a flash drive, but I use portableapps so I needed something much faster than the Transcend drives that I have. Let me tell you, this drive, is FAST! I can consistently see ~30MB/s read speeds and between 20-25MB/s write speeds so this drive works WONDERFULLY!! I would HIGHLY recommend anyone who wants a FAST drive consider this!

Cons: I am still giving this 5 eggs, but my drive just recently died. I am unable to access anything on it unless I'm plugged into a Linux distro and then it's read-only. I'm not sure if this is something caused by a computer issue or a drive failure, hence why I'm not knocking down the rating.

Other Thoughts: I talked to Corsair, where they have GREAT service by the way, and they have already approved and RMA to get this replaced free of charge. Let me just say, I can't WAIT to have it back!

Don't think twice, Just GET IT!

1 out of 5 eggs2 drives have failed in under a month

Pros: Very fast

Cons: What good does speed do without reliability? My first drive failed before I could complete my first backup to it. My replacement drive worked for about a month with intermittent I/O errors. Now it's deader than a door nail and cannot even be formatted.

Other Thoughts: It amazes me that this has such a high rating by users. I can't believe this is an isolated occurence.
