The 16GB Flash Voyager GT features Corsair's proprietary all-rubber housing, which offers previously unheard-of durability! In true geek fashion, several third-party reviewers have subjected the Flash Voyager GT to laundering, baking, freezing, boiling, substantial drops, even run it over with an SUV, and it continues to work! We obviously do not recommend that you subject your Voyager GT to such abuse, but it's good to know that it can easily withstand the rigors of living at the bottom of your briefcase, purse, or desk drawer!

The Flash Voyager USB 2.0 drive is stylish, compact, and reliable, so you know you can trust it with your MP3s, digital images, presentations and other critical data. This GT model is optimized for speed in up- and downloading. The included TrueCrypt security software enables AES-256-bit encryption, and hidden and password protected partitions. When you need to know your data is safe, no matter what, the Flash Voyager GT offers you security and peace of mind!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome flash drive!!

Pros: speed is incredible, 6gb in 6 mins. my other flash drives take easily twice that time. I have owned this model since '08 and have never had a problem with the documents and videos I have transferred to and from this flash drive. I use it all the time.

Cons: The only one I have is that I keep losing the cap.

3 out of 5 eggscorsair flash drive

Pros: rubber proetcted , key chain , very fast.

Cons: somethimes it works , somethimes it doesn't . what i mean is that somethimes i plug it in and immediately get's reconize , and somethimes just keeps flashing ...fora few minutes until you lose your pacience

Other Thoughts: you might test it , and format it to ntfs or
fat 32 , play with it , i've used it with win 7 on a vaio laptop.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Flash Drive, but not perfect.

Pros: Great fast flash drive. I've had mine for nearly a year now and no issues. I bought this flash drive to copy large ISO's to so I can take them with me, its very fast compared to my other non-GT 16GB model. I am quite happy with it, and will not hesitate to purchase the 64GB GT model once the price drops.

Cons: Cap is easily lost. The rubber casing enable the cap to be pulled of easily when removing it from your pocket. 99% of all flash drives have unattached caps so this is an issue with near all drives.

5 out of 5 eggsConsider the dates on the previous reviews

Pros: 30MB/s read
18MB/s write
Was a lot smaller than I expected, this is a plus for me. :)

Cons: A little expensive vs similar performing drives, keep in mind you get a USB extension cable + lanyard and Corsair will replace caps on request. (I know everyone is paranoid about loosing their caps these days)

Other Thoughts: Solid product, if the previous reviews are putting you down, make sure you check the date...My box had a 2008 copyright date.

5 out of 5 eggsI like it.

Pros: It has red highlights instead of blue. this means it's faster........
any way, I do like this.

Is pretty much the same as the cheaper blue highlighted version. same speeds I mean.
also comes with a black lanyard with white writing instead of blue lanyard with white writing. this also means it's faster......I just like the color combos better

Cons: I cannot think of any cons or good jokes.

Other Thoughts: I have two of the blue ones,,, they came out of the casing, the glue failed. I sent it back, they put it in a new rubber casing and the glue failed again not too long after.
So far, the red one,,, this one, has no glue failure.

at work, the people who have the blue one and don't know about the red one, they think the red one means it's better and faster.! HA!
16 GB seems to be the best bet for the money. 32 GB is waaaaaay to steep to justify when I can bring my external hard drives to back things up.

4 out of 5 eggsMine's quick

Pros: I'm surprised at the range of performance statements in these reviews. Perhaps their dates are important. I have one of these drives and it is the quickest of my thumb drives. HDTune measures about 30MB/s read rate. CrystalDiskMark gives the same read rate and a write rate of 11MB/s. Those numbers are very different than the 0.5MB/s numbers reported below, but then blanket statements that Corsair drives fail after a few weeks makes one question the whole review.

Cons: It's not USB3

1 out of 5 eggsMLC Mediocrity ... if it lasts!

Pros: - It's red, like vampire blood!
- It's rubberized, so your extremely likely RMA will be more in your favor because the OEM cannot claim you dropped their rubbery drive and broke it intentionally.
- Newegg, as always, a quality merchant who offers the integrity of unbiased consumer reviews.

Cons: - Typical mediocre at best MLC drive, marketed fraudulently as high-performance product.
- Rubbery exterior is bulbous and impossible to fit into a USB slot next to another USB device.
- Cap is not attached in any way, and easily lost.
- Rubberize your products to protect child-like butterfingers consumers.
- Corsair flash drives fail after a few weeks at best.
- Drives benchmark poorly in comparison to others in same category, especially when drive is dead.
- Would never, ever buy Corsair flash drives again, based on exceedingly poor performance.

Other Thoughts: Corsair, can we say cl@ss-@ction? I have lost most of my important text files (resumes, etc.) because of the failure rate of your flash products. I did have extra backups, but no other flash products have failed me quicker and more often than Corsair products. Shameful!

On another note, I would still recommend and buy your system memory, however, because quality is different.

2 out of 5 eggsAn embarassment to the GT name

Pros: 16GB of space is nothing to sneeze at. Corsair has excellent tech support/customer service and they almost encourage RMAs. 10 year warranty is awesome and they stand behind their product.

Cons: SLOW SLOW SLOW! Did I mention slow? This drive should have NEVER had the GT moniker attached to it, because it is NOT in the same class as the 1,2,4 & 8GB Voyager GT drives. It took me over 2.5 hours to move 5.6GB of data to this drive on a Windows XP machine. I did it on an 8GB Voyager GT in about 10 minutes.

Other Thoughts: I originally purchased an 8GB Flash Voyager GT from Newegg on 12/07. Drive was fast as hell and rugged--no complaints at all. However, after nine months it died and since it is out of production, Corsair RMA'd it and sent me a 16GB GT as a replacement. It is horrendously slow compared to the 8GB model. Like others have pointed out, the flash chips on the 16GB version are different and that is why there is such a speed difference. You can't even use this drive to run Portable Apps off of it--too slow for Thunderbird or Firefox. I'm going to have to go back to a U3 drive now. I spoke with a supervisor who said they do have a very limited supply of 8GB GTs and he was going to try and score one for me to swap out for my 16GB. My fingers are crossed!

2 out of 5 eggsSLOW SLOW SLOW

Pros: high capacity

Cons: This thing is terribly slow. I got it as an RMA replacement from Corsair when my 8GB Voyager GT bit the dust. This 16GB version is twice as slow as the 8GB version. Don't even consider running PortableApps on it. Like the previous poster, running Firefox off it us unbearable and it takes forever to copy files to and from it.

My wifes 2GB Sandisk Cruzer Mini that I bought from Walmart blows this thing away.

I'm selling it on E*b*a*y and going back to Walmart for a Sandisk.

1 out of 5 eggsReally amazingly slow

Pros: It holds 16gb

Cons: Vista will not use it for ReadyBoost because it is too slow. Exceptionally slow in fact. When I copied my data onto the freshly formatted drive it took 45 minutes for 3.9gb of data. This same data copied onto my old 8gb flash voyager gt in under 2 minutes.

Other Thoughts: I contacted tech support, assuming I had a defective unit, and they said that it is only expected to perform half as fast as the older 8gb version due to a change in technology. Also, when I mentioned that it takes over 5 minutes to open PortableFirefox the technician said, "That's normal, you shouldn't expect to be able to run programs from a flash drive." Same copy of PortableFirefox took 2 seconds on my old 8gb drive.
