1 out of 5 eggsDied After Two Months

This review is from: Kingston DataTraveler Micro 8GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Model DTMCK/8GB

Pros: Cheap and small.

Cons: It died after two months. Its stuck in write-protect mode. Tried using diskpart to clear this attribute, but it won't clear. There is no physical switch on the disk either.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked nicely for VMWare ESXi 5.5 installation

This review is from: Kingston DataTraveler Micro 8GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Model DTMCK/8GB

Pros: I used this USB stick as an inconspicuous was of installing VMWare ESXi 5.5 onto a USB. Recognized and worked perfectly.

It has as little hole in the side where you could put a charm tassle or feed a string through to hang it somewhere or to put it on your keychain.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: It's a standard USB 2.0 usb stick... not much to say here. Write speeds are on the slow side, read speeds are decent. It's just like every other USB 2.0 stick in the world.

5 out of 5 eggsKingston DataTraveler Micro 8GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Model DTMCK/8GB

This review is from: Kingston DataTraveler Micro 8GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Model DTMCK/8GB

Pros: Very compact. Protrudes about 1/2" from USB port.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The usb ports on my car radio are in a storage box between the front seats. The typical usb "thumb drive" sticks out about 2" and although it didn't happen I was constantly worried a book, camera, etc., would get tossed in the box and break off or damage the thumb drive. Chances of that happening with this device are greatly reduced since it only protrudes about 1/2 inch. Copying files to the device may be slightly faster than what I used previously, but I bought it for its size advantage not speed.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for NAS boot drive

This review is from: Kingston DataTraveler Micro 8GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Model DTMCK/8GB

Pros: Small size. For those of you wondering where you were going to get a usb stick to fit in your 1U supermicro mini-server, look no further. I'm using mine as a boot drive on a NAS4Free Atom server. Perfect fit.
Low cost!

Cons: Not as fast as I would like, but gets the job done. Its all about the size and not as much about the speed when you get something like this.
