5 out of 5 eggsA fine choice

Pros: A good little card reader. My old one couldn't read any SD cards over 2GB so I'm happy.

It's nice that this paired with Win7 does not assign a drive until I plug in a card.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsHad lotsa trouble installing in Antec Twelve Hundred case

Pros: It gets the job done, Win7 doesn't assign drive letters in My Computer unless a card is inserted, so keeps My Computer less cluttered. It works and simply plugs into a USB port inside your PC.

Cons: I had serious issues with installing it in the 3.5" adapter in the Antec Twelve Hundred case. This was mainly due to the fact that the holes on the card reader are too small. I had to force a screw to screw in, as the plastic cover that you screw into is not threaded. This turned this installation into a third of the time it took me to build my gaming rig. The frustration I had with the installation causes the reduction in one egg. Otherwise, this is a great product. If you have a dedicated external 3.5" bay, then you should have less trouble with the installation.

Other Thoughts: Gaming rig:
CPU: i7-870 (1156, 2.93ghz quad core)
Cooler: Xigmatek Dark Knight with 1156 bracket set.
Case: Antec Twelve Hundred
RAM: 2x4GB DDR3 G.SKILL Ripjaws 9 Cas
GPU: Gigabyte 1GB GTX 460
HDD: 640GB WD Caviar Black SATA 3.0 GB/s
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3
PSU: Kingwin Lazer 1000W
OS: Win7 Home Premium

1 out of 5 eggsGreat when it worked

Pros: Read all the cards I needed it to. Easy to install. No annoying leds blinding you. Looks great. Good feel to inserted cards.

Cons: Died after 2 months of usage. Tried different usb headers, and just nothing.

Other Thoughts: I'm trying to rma it now, guess we'll see how that goes.

4 out of 5 eggsSo far, so good

Pros: Looks good, feels solid. Have tested it with new SD HC and an old Smartmedia card with no problems. Activity light in panel. Easy install, USB connector long enough to reach header. Vista recognized and installed the drivers without problems.

Cons: Vista assigns four driver letters on startup.

Other Thoughts: I wanted 5.25", but this fit like a glove into the Bytecc adapter (Item#: N82E16817994080).

5 out of 5 eggsInstall after the OS, otherwise easy

Pros: Easy USB plug-n-play install.
Will handle the latest SDHC cards which is what I needed.

Cons: I installed in two new PCs, one XP and one Win7. Learn from my mistake... do not install until after installing the OS. XP assigned drive letters to this before my HDD and DVDs; I reinstalled XP so my HDD being at G: wouldn't bug me forevermore. Not sure what Win7 would do as I simply waited to install the reader.
Have to use Eject and not Remove Safely to avoid disabling the reader until you reboot (but this is a common flaw of media readers) (at least in XP, didn't think to test it in Win7).

Other Thoughts: XP assigns 4 drive letters to the reader and they are permanently shown in "My Computer" even when no media is in the slot (making "My Computer" a bit cluttered). Win7 however seems to be "smarter" and only shows the drive letter when that slot has media in it.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Does exactly what I need it to do.

Cons: Installation was a PITA, but that was my cases fault, not the product.

Other Thoughts: Would recommend to anyone needing an effective way to view camera memory cards with a simple plug in.
