The Aerocool internal card reader fits into any open 5.25" drive bay on your Windows computer, and features a color LCD display, a 5-slot card reader, fan controls, and extra USB and eSATA ports (please note that your motherboard must support eSATA for this feature to work).
The digital display hides away inside the case when you're not using it, and pops out and flips up when you need it. You'll know at a glance the status of up to 3 fans and 3 temperature sensors, with graphical alerts for excessive temp or fan failure, and you can set the fans for automatic or manual control.
The 55-in-1 card reader supports the removable memory for all your electronic devices, and its card slots remain accessible whether the display is in or out. The convenient Copy button gives you one-touch uploading from your CF, Micro Drive, Memory Stick, SD, MMC, xD, or Smart Media card. This incredibly cool unit adds a lot of helpful features to your computer at a value price!
They give you three extra temperature monitor cables 'just in case'
Burned out before my 30 day return w/newegg
Cons: I was reluctant in trying this as I have read how many people have had problems with it. But, I figured I have 11 years of IT under my belt, I wanted to give it a shot.
It took 6 hours for an attempted 'clean' install. Which didn't look very clean if you ask me, it still looked a bit sloppy with wires here and there when you have a total of 4 feet a wire to hide. My purpose of a clean install was to prevent disruption of airflow in my antec 900.
Unit only controls fan speed of 3 pin fans (Red Black and White wires, *don't get confused with the single Yellow wire, that is for MONITORING fan speed, not controlling it*). If your fan has a molex power cable, this unit will not control the fan speed.
Card reader works using windows built in software, but the 'copy' button did not work for me on Vista 64, nor Win 7 64 even after installing their software.
This may be getting a BIT picky, but it really does feel flimsy and kind of cheap, but at 60 bucks, why not get picky?
Other Thoughts: Under pros, I really tried hard to think of other pros about this unit. But really, this thing is mainly eye candy for what it does.
I really recommend to people not to listen to other 'review' sites that install it and say its fantastic right then and there. There is an important factor with computer components, and its called reliability. The fact that mine died, and countless others- this unit simply does not have it.
I highly HIGHLY do NOT recommend this unit. Yes, it looks cool, but for this price tag, its a 60 dollar paper weight.

Pros: Sharp looking and (mostly) well thought out. Configuring and setup is a breeze. Display not quite as bright as pictured (not surprising) A great way to monitor system temp Pump and water flow w/o having system POST(ed) or booted!
Cons: Annoying non-toolless-case-friendly
Other Thoughts: Cannot figure out why it comes with 5 tempeture sensors.

Pros: APPEARANCE - Very sleek appearance. Has a nice glossy finsh. Nice LCD screen. FEATURES - Functional card readers, USB, eSata, and fan controllers. PERFORMANCE - Functionally, all of the electronics work flawlessly.
Cons: QUALITY - Made from very cheap and flimsy plastic. You can tell by the look and feel that the device is cheaply assembled. The FLIP-UP LCD SCREEN promptly stopped locking into the closed position only a few months after use (an average of opening and closing once per day) so now the only option is to keep the screen extended fully in the open position, as it will no longer close. The slots for memory cards, USB, and eSata do not perfectly line up with the shell- yet another design flaw due to the chinsy outer shell. INSTALLATION - Will not fit properly into a case that has a "screwless design" because the clips and holes do not line up properly (i.e. - Thermaltake Xaser series).
Other Thoughts: Overall it just isn't worth the price. I would pay half of the asking price for the product's quality. For what you get, it is overpriced. All that would be needed for this product to be worth it, is for the manufacturer to use a decent quality material to make and assemble the outer casing. If not for the super thin plastic, this device would be extremely solid. Newegg shipping was ahead of time, as usual, and of course, none of this is the fault of newegg, rather the manufacturer. Newegg packing was perfect and it arrived in perfect condition in a more than timely fashion.

Too dim
Reviewed By: on 5/9/2009
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: e-sata, looks nice
Cons: The display looks really nice from above the unit, but on a straight line of sight it is pretty dim, and it is unreadable if you have to look up at it. I am using this reader on an HTPC that is positioned a few inches higher than my recliner and it doesn't even look like it is on when I sit down. In addition, it is stuck in my bay so I can't even get it out to replace it.
Other Thoughts: If you are running Vista you will need to download the driver.
