5 out of 5 eggsAK

Pros: This thing has been in and out of my wallet or on my keychain since 2008. It is now 2014. Still going strong.

Small, light, fast. A real hard to beat USB Drive 8gb seems to be the most stable size USB Thumb-drive I've owned.

Cons: Only the size, hard not to lose. Or forget you have it plugged into the back of a PC if you have to use Rear USB ports.

3 out of 5 eggsNot for the long haul

Pros: The reason I bought this a year and a half ago was that it was fast. Not the--move normal files in a big bunch--fast but fast access. I run chess engines and they can use files called endgame tablebases, but those have to be rapidly accessible or they are useless because engines are looking at millions of positions per second and can't wait around twitting their thumbs waiting for a response about just one, even if it is important and the answer is the absolute truth. The read part is very small but there are billions of places to read and only a few that mater. It worked great for this. It was several times faster than a harddisk; I did a calculation once but I don't recall the result. Anyway, it was about twice as fast in file access than the other USB flash drives.
That was a year and a half ago, so I don't know if things have gotten any better for other drives. I suspect some ssds are probably a better choice now. They were far from reasonable then and still somewhat now.

Cons: It fits tight, which made a friend too nervous to force it in his computer so I did not get some files once. It can be hard to pull out if you have something in an adjacent port. Even the chain is hard to get a hold of to pull it out. Perhaps if there was an extendable handle in the back.

I think even at this size there is room for an activity light.

It needs some indicator what way is up so I don't try putting it in up-side-down. Perhaps a big dot on the top side.

Oh and why I am here writing a review...It just died!!! I treated it with care. No viruses on my machine, never went through the wash. Only went through an airport scanner twice (about 4 months ago), and I don't toss it around. But die it did.

Other Thoughts: Maybe a Super Talent person will see the review and make it easy for me to replace the little guy.

I did not buy it for it but I found it just fine for moving files from a computer with a scanner to another computer...why bother with a network?

It failed right after a big cut and paste to another drive. You might want to keep these to a minimum.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for car stereo

Pros: I use this in a car stereo that has a front panel USB jack. It is perfect for that application as it does not stick out enough to worry about hitting it. These tend to be a bit of a tight fit into the jack which is perfect for a car. In almost a year of use performance has been flawless.

Cons: It is so small it would be easy to loose.

Other Thoughts: I outfitted a second car with a USB equipped stereo so I am back for another Pico_C.

5 out of 5 eggsPICO

Pros: I accidentally spilled water on this drive the day I got it. I've dropped it on hard surfaces several times and I keep it on my keyring. I have had no problems with it.

Cons: It scratches easily.

Other Thoughts: 203 MB file:
Read speed:20-25 MBps
Write speed:9-10 MBps

261 MB Folder (1,200 items):
Read speed:6-9 MBps
Write speed:1-3 MBps

5 out of 5 eggsTiny, Awesome

Pros: Small, durable, water resistant. Just bought my second one, both work fine, its been on my keychain abused in my pocket its entire life and still kick'n.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I have had it disconnect before while plugged in when I moved my keys, parhaps the connector style has it coming loose in computers while people are transfering data and it causes them to fail, just dont wiggle it while your using it.. I still haven't ever had a problem. Friend has the 16gig and also no problems ever..

5 out of 5 eggsInconspicuous and fast

Pros: Tiny, tiny, tiny.
Decent speed for the size. Check reviews, it stands on the higher end of the spectrum in spite of its size.
Robust (so far)

Cons: Fits a little bit too snuggly in most USB ports. You have to ram it in. It could afford to lose a millimeter in thickness near the connector. Gets warm.

Other Thoughts: I use it as a data repository/ Ubuntu Live disc. The size alone does it for me. I bought a quick release key chain to keep it attached with my keys and to avoid having my whole keyset dangle from the side of my computer during use.

1 out of 5 eggsProne to frying

Pros: Fast, fast, FAST--i was actually able to achieve their advertised speeds when transfering big files. It's well built--too small to break.

Cons: large bunches of small files take a long time to transfer

2 of them died, and i don't know whether i want to buy stamps to send this thing in again.

Other Thoughts: The customer service was nearly nonexistent--I was only able to contact them via email. Their reply was something along the lines of "package in ESD bag, include receipt and RMA#" After that, I didn't hear a word for 3 weeks and then a flash drive appeared in the mail...which lasted 3 months.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable and Tiny

Pros: VERY small, takes up virtually no room on my keyring, durable, has been completely reliable for me. I have never experienced any write failures and have never had any compatibility issues.

Cons: Not as fast as other drives, but there is going to be a trade off for its compact size.

Other Thoughts: After a year of use, a minimal amount of metal deformation is present around the eyelet, eventually it will wear too thin and come loose from the key ring. However, it should still have many months (or years) of service before this becomes an issue. If you use a non-metal keyring, this should not be a problem for you.
