5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It is the most cost effective way to allow Vista 64 bit to communicate with a printer port. My mother board did not have a LPT and my printer did not have a USB port. This saved me the expense of adding a PCI Express Printer port to my system.

Cons: It was not until I used the "F8" disable signed drivers option that I was able to get the driver to load correctly. The CD was not helpful. Had to download the 64 bit driver off the Syba website.

5 out of 5 eggsIT works fine

Pros: Worked fine after I read the directions. One needs to id which port it wants to id to the usb adaptor. Plugs easily into a normal 25pin centronics cable and extensions

Cons: At this point none

4 out of 5 eggsI found a installation manual.

Pros: Easy to extend the peripherals. No need to open the case.

Cons: I got the same installation problem before until I found the quick installation guide on SYBA's website, and now it works fine.

1 out of 5 eggsBad design

Pros: Long cable

Cons: I never did get this thing to work with my printer. Also, like another reviewer said, you have to trim the housing to get a solid connection.

2 out of 5 eggsI'm stuck!

Pros: Very inexpensive and quick to arrive. Easy for me to install to printer cable and cpu.

Cons: Driver is not Window XP compatible?!? Once driver was installed I still had no USB ports avaiable! Only LPT ports...yet I have NO parallel ports on my computer!

Other Thoughts: If anyone can advise please do advise.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: New Egg's Delivery
Ordered Monday Afternoon in PA and had from CA by Wednesday morning with standard delivery.

Cons: XP recognizes the divice and it installs. Then its own testing software says it does not exist. Tried to get new drivers from manufacturer and they were the same as ones provided. Same results on 2 Lenovo Laptops.

Other Thoughts: I'll eat it. Too cheap to return.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Buy It !!

Pros: none

Cons: First of all, the cable adapter housing has to be trimmed with a razor in order for it to fit and screw in. Second, Windows XP could not communitcate with the printer. It sees it in Windows, but doesn't print. Third, if a manufacturer sells a product, it should work and be very easy to use; this is not the case.

Other Thoughts: Don't even second guess this adapter; you'll waste your time and money!

4 out of 5 eggs

Comments: I just finished the install. Not too bad and it works. The biggest issue is you have trim the plastic around the parallel port so bring a razor knife.
