Remember the light pens that let you draw right on your screen? Take a look at Wacom's updated digitizing pad version.

Digitizing pads are wonderful things, but we're at our best when we can look at what we're drawing as we draw it. Looking down at your pad and then up at your monitor to see what the computer "saw" may be a great way to strengthen your neck muscles, but it's a tiring way to draw. Designed to work in a multi-monitor environment or to be your only monitor, this tablet's display screen shows you what you're drawing as you draw it. The 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity let you simulate a pencil with a feather's touch, or look like you mashed down on it.

For anyone who draws, really, but I think professionals will be particularly impressed with how much faster they can work. Decide for yourself, but I want one!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: great packaging, fast delivery, pressure sensitivty rocks, lives up the hype. Crisp, clean display. Very responsive. This is a must any digital artist.

Cons: not very portable. There are more cables than would think

Other Thoughts: I spent years debating getting one because of the high cost. I additionally looked around at alternatives... none of them compared. After finally getting the chance to try one out at a convention, I was sold. Didn't take very long at all to get used to.

3 out of 5 eggsThe Cintiq 12WX

Pros: Nice large drawing surface
Pretty Light Weight tablet
Easy to use
Works well with Photoshop

Cons: Screen began to fail after 2 years, getting lots of bad pixels and color artifacts.
Power cord comes out of the top of the tablet is a poor design, it bends and starts to crack

Other Thoughts: For the price you pay for this good tablet, it should last longer. Very disappointed in this Cintiq.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic

Pros: This is a fantastic piece of technology. I mean, think about it. You can draw on the screen! It makes life so much easier when drawing pictures that require multiple mediums. If you can figure out how to navigate photo editing programs, then your life is about to get quite a lot simpler. It works very well.

It's a freakin' drawing tablet with a freakin' screen. It's amazing.
Great calibration
Really good text drawing, as in, it can recognize your written words better than your own mother
Programmable buttons

Cons: Around the outer edges, as many other reviews have pointed out, you lose a little sensitivity. That's pretty average though.

Other Thoughts: Buy this if you like being able to make mistakes and erase them quickly without wasting ink, or having to buy bristol board all over again because you messed up your drawing trying to color it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product but The Price Sucks

Pros: 10 button that u can bind, radial menu which one can customize to do many other things. its better and more easier to work with than the other none graphical tablets Wacom makes. its very precise you wont have any lag between the cursor and pen.

Cons: THE PRICE SUCKS. and i know the product wasn't that difficult to build. I my self can build one from a WACOM Intuos tablet and a laptop screen.

4 out of 5 eggsNice and all that

Pros: Write on display, can take it to work, small compared to my 21ux

Cons: not fond of all the wires involved for the setup

Other Thoughts: Have to say that I am happy with this. I wish I would have bought this instead of the 21ux first; it would have saved me about $1500.00 in the long run.

5 out of 5 eggsBreathing at last!!!

Pros: Light to carry, easy to set up. and has a very smooth surface. My drawings look great on the 12in. monitor!

Cons: So many wires!! you can get it situated and then it's no real worries!

Other Thoughts: I've wanted this for years and finally have it!! It fits in my work space and is so much more efficient than drawing on a Graphire or Intuos. I draw faster and more now that I draw directly on the the surface and see my work while my pen is moving. I hated drawing on the other pads and having to look up at my desktop monitor. I can barely go back to sketching on paper!

3 out of 5 eggsGreat concept, mediocre execution

Pros: Nice size, nice screen. You really can't find something like this from anybody else. A tablet with a color LCD is insanely useful.

Cons: Unless your PC's screen resolution EXACTLY matches that of the tablet, you can't "mirror" the displays. The image on the Cintiq becomes distorted in one direction or another, so you have to extend your desktop instead, which is not as useful.

Sensitivity is not nearly as precise as an Intuos tablet.

The connector cables/box appear to have been designed so as to be the most clunky, frustrating, stupid connection method possible. There's no excuse for a device like this to have a connection snarl like that in this day and age.

Price. As others have mentioned, this tablet's been out for years. What the heck, Wacom?

Other Thoughts: Between the resolution-matching issue and the sensitivity thing, I find myself using the Intuos a lot more. It's more convenient, more sensitive, and less hassle.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Wacom brand, it actually works

Cons: Price, thick cable, not portable

Other Thoughts: I think that WACOM is losing that market. My next tablet will be compact and portable.

5 out of 5 eggsBest thing ever

Pros: Direct, on-screen work
Pressure sensitive
Very versatile
Hotkey buttons are both readily available and out of the way

Cons: Very costly
Screen can be a bit dim
So many chords...!

Other Thoughts: Bought this tablet a few years ago after I decided that A) I love wacom tablets and B) the Intuos 2 I had was a pain to use based on its size (which would be around the size of a small table). My only concern about this tablet? Setting the thing up is a wee bit of a chore at first. Once you have it set up? Don't move it. Need a portable? Get a Bamboo or look for an older generation of Intuos.
Really, this thing is pricey, but it is so worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Tablet

Pros: The tablet itself is very Well made. It's light and pretty durable. Also it looks and functions great. It is really a good investment if your someone who prefers to look and draw.

Cons: I haven't seen anything about this tablet that was bad.

Other Thoughts: Is an investment but if you use it it is a great one.
