Pros: -Nice sleek finish on it.
-Beautiful LEDS
-Slim keycap structure (more of a preference)
-Keys pop up easily for cleaning if you put something under them to pry off. Was made for it.
-Full custom keys.

When i first got the keyboard I was extremely excited to open it up and plug it in. Everything was running smoothly for the first hour or so and it was very responsive. Fit my hands very well. If you use the software it came with you can turn every key into a macro, and even disable keys *cough* windows key *cough* which comes in handy.

After two hours....that's when the very short lived moment of happiness died.

Cons: -The special audio player keys malfunction constantly
-They keys will stick constantly
-The nice sleek finish.

Now first off if you're wondering why I had the sleek finish as a pro and con....it's because it's a nice feature that makes it look sleek, but when its bright inside during the day. It's almost impossible to read the keyboard without the leds and a challenge with.

If you read around you'll find that the audio selectors in the upper right hand part of the board break. Razer says it's only certain serial numbers, but they're obviously still doing it as mine is one that's only 6 months old. What happens is you'll be listening to music then it randomly select the next or previous song and continue to do it so nothing plays. This is a slightly easy fix as putting a quarter or bottle cap right where the glowing logo is fixes it for the time being.

The keys sticking are horrible....It does it at least 2-3 times a day where i have to actually unplug the keyboard and plug it back in. With my set up thats a bit of a challenge as i have to crawl behind a 54 inch TV where my computer is. Nothing is worse than playing a game then having a key stick on an FPS or typing to a friend only to have ," Hey how is freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" Happen until you unplug the board....

I want to like this board soooo much, but the shoddy internals in the end make me want to throw it out the window.

Other Thoughts: After about half a year of ownership, I'm glad to say I'm finally getting rid of this board. I usually like Razor products, and after a few years of having these issues exist with other people you think they would fix it as it's a huge scratch in there name on quality, and a board that's this price should not have wiring on the inside worse than a standard keyboard.

I recently spilled Calpis on the board yesterday (I live in japan, lets just say its a very sticky drink) and have tried cleaning it three times very thoroughly and the keys are still sticking...the arrow keys aren't even working anymore. I just built a new computer with a black and red theme, so this gives me the opportunity to nab a better board. I will never buy this product again and makes me question if Razer should just stick to gaming mice if this is the quality of their boards.

1 out of 5 eggsDell Stock keyboard is better. AVOID!

Pros: Like Rtopete's review my experience with this product is similar. Stops responding when typing an e-mail. Keys getting stuck in the middle of a raid with four other people DOES SUCK.

Rtopete stated: "Other Thoughts: WHen I bought this keyboard I thought it was fantastic looking and I was very excited to add it to my gaming machine. Turns out that on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit, no matter what drivers you use, the keys stick mid-gaming and it is very frustrating to get the keyboard working back again. I play a lot of BF3 and this definitely annoys the living human waste matter out of me."

Cons: Sticks,Unresponsive, BSODs MS WIN 7x64. [Driver issue]. After following limited information via Razer's support page, multiple re-boots, driver removal re-installation, setting changes, I have HAD IT. I've owned this less than 3 days, and have had MORE problems than I can count.

Other Thoughts: I'm surprised by Razer. Usually their products are good stuff. Now Newegg is going to beat me up for a re-stocking fee, and I have to pay return shipping. Great. JUST great. No offense Newegg, but I'll buy my next one locally

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed in Razer...

Pros: Exceptionally beautiful, the backlit keys are great for late night gaming

Cons: Several of the keys randomly decided to not work. After only THREE days, the keyboard decided to start completely cutting out until being plugged out and plugged back in. My computer is fully up to date, and had the proper drivers installed too. Also, some of the keys would randomly become very difficult to push down.

Other Thoughts: I ignored the warnings from the reviews here, thinking that most of it was just people not installing it right. Do not buy this keyboard, you WILL regret it. If you really want to stick with Razer, I suggest the Arctosa instead. I know I will be.

5 out of 5 eggsNever had a problem

Pros: I love this keyboard. I am not sure why some people are having issues with it. I have never had a problem, and I am using it with Windows 7 Professional. I am a graphics artist and in school for programming. The backlight is nice, not bright and distracting like the ones that light the entire keyboard, including between keys. I am able to work at night in dim to no lighting, a definite plus!

Cons: The keys are a bit noisy after a lot of use, and the keys I use the most now have big dots instead of actual letters.

Other Thoughts: I have had a lot of issues with Windows drivers overwriting proprietary drivers and conflicting with everything from wireless N usb sticks, to a brand new high end video card. To those having trouble, make sure Windows is not set to overwrite your Razor drivers.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Keyboard Ever!

Pros: This keyboard is beautiful. The backlit illumination is amazing and definitely helps with horror gaming at night. It matches perfectly with my razer abyssus mirror edition. the option to disable the windows key for fullscreen gaming is also a plus.

Cons: none

i agree with those who say the glossy finish makes this kb look dirty faster than other coatings but it also makes it that much easier to clean. just use a couple lysol wipes and its done (same concept as having wood or tile flooring vs carpet) try doing that on a matte finish kb for a year and see what happens lol. also i find that i tend to clean my mouse and kb more often due to the glossy finish hence keeping my workspace looking tidier in general. If you are going to spend 5+ hours a day (or 8+ like me) on your computer you might as well be cleaning it every couple days anyway you lazy drandins

Other Thoughts: don't know why people seem to be having so many issues with this keyboard. I have been using it for over 2 years now and it has served me well. i got angry a few times while gaming and bashed this kb as hard as i could a few times and it was able to withstand my fury. I swear this keyboard looks the same today as it did when i bought it 2 years ago.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: This keyboard is everything you need for gaming, without going over the edge with useless features. It makes typing a breeze and the keys react very well to the slightest touch, instead of having to slam the keys down to get the stroke to be recognized.
Also has a very long cable.
Lightweight but durable.

Cons: The only real con I can see is that if you do not turn the lights on it is hard to see the keys(even in broad daylight) if you are a person who needs to look at the keys to type(I am not one of those) so it is simple for me.

Other Thoughts: I have always want a back lit keyboard! The WASD lighting option is quite useless as the rest of the keyboard becomes dark and I would say 99% of games will used more then just those 4 keys, see above why that can be a problem.

For those of you that are having problems where it randomly opens Windows Media Player or is making your other media players skip around as if you were telling them to, DO NOT INSTALL the drivers that the keyboard comes with. I made the mistake of that, then the keyboard started to make iTunes go crazy, then I uninstalled them and never had the problem again.

1 out of 5 eggsRazer Lycosta Back-Lit KB

Pros: The keyboard looks nice and the back-lit keys allow easy typing and game play at night.

Cons: This keyboard has some VERY annoying ISSUES. I'm on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine. I've used driver sweeper to remove previous drivers and install all current drivers required. Problem is = this keyboard is by far the WORST I've ever used - in my life. It randomly has a mind of its own. I'm unable to play ANY games without the KB locking up, or just randomly causing my player to just walk forward with no chance of stopping it. Even disconnecting the KB and reconnecting is proves useless. PLUS, Windows Media Player randomly switches to a loop where the track goes ON AND ON to the NEXT TRACK with no chance of stopping it. EVEN when I disconnect the KB and reconnect, WMP opens up and goes in a mindless loop. In Microsoft word, which I use A LOT for school and work, the KB relentlessly and continuously mashes down the last key pressed. Many times, have I disconnected the KB because it types "jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj, etc."

I have yet to use this keyboard for more than 45 minutes at a time without any problems - at all.

I've owned this keyboard since 2010 and I'm now so fed up with it, I'm reverting back to my $20 MS Comfort Curve.

Other Thoughts: I love my Razer mouse that I own, but at this time I'm unable to condone anyone--even my worst enemy--to waste their time and money with this $79 wasted investment. Since I've owned this keyboard long past the warranty, there is no use of trying to get a replacement or my money back.

Take care. I truly hope this review helps someone from having a massive headache.

1 out of 5 eggsSorry I bought this

Pros: It's beautiful. I like the back-lit keyboard and the USB plug on the keyboard. It has a nice tactile feel as well. It's beautiful. Did I mention that?

Cons: In spite of it's beauty, it's just not mechanically functional. It causes Windows Media Player to spontaneously pop up on my computer. That wouldn't be an issue except that even if you close it, it pops back up immediately basically keeping your other windows in the back ground. It's like the button is stuck or something but visibly it is not. It doesn't do this all the time either. It's completely unpredictable in that sometimes it can go hours and be OK and sometimes happens as soon as the computer is booted. I'm sorry I was lured in by the good looks. I should have paid more attention to Razer's spotty history of quality issues.

Other Thoughts: Not worth the money. I'm ordering a new keyboard today. I've had enough of the frustration and nonsense.
