1 out of 5 eggsWorked fine for a while

Pros: Great when working

Cons: Terrible when things go wrong

Other Thoughts: Backlight went out after about a year. Sometimes it lights back up on its own and stays lit for a few seconds, sometimes for a few hours. Always ends up dimming back to nothing.

Keep having similar experiences with all Razer products and I'm just fed up with it.

4 out of 5 eggsVery nice keyboard

Pros: Very nice board, seems to be indestructible and comes nicely packaged.
Love that I can hook my headset or mouse right into the keyboard. Backlight is nice, multiple settings adjust light intensity. Allows me to type faster and be more agile in online games. Gaming mode is great considering I often accidentally hit the windows key while playing games and this setting disables that key. Overall a good board.

Cons: A little bit pricey, was able to pick it up at my local computer store for the same price. Not all keys are backlit as mentioned by several other people. The backlight has 5 settings: 1-off 2-low light 3-medium light 4-high light 5-pulse
If I use my headset through the keyboard, I will hear a buzzing noise in the headset unless the backlight setting is either 0 or 4. All minor problems and really shouldn't influence the choice of buying this product.

3 out of 5 eggsNot for me

Pros: Looks cool.
Is what it says it is.
Easy macros/nice software.

Cons: Ok.... my only MAJOR con... is that not ALL the keys are backlit...TECHNICALLY all the keys are backlit... but really, an character that is an "alternate" character is not backlit... meaning, any character that requires me to hold SHIFT and press to use is not backlit. This was a REALLY horrible decision on Razer's part and I think just a design flaw they refuse to fix.

My other con is just that I didn't like the type of switches. I think these have MX Blue switches?? I'm not sure... but they're the one with tactile And audible feedback... Very Very clickity... at first I thought that would be fine, but after a year I find myself searching for a new keyboard and pawning this one. I think brown switches are where it's at (though clearly maybe I'll change my mind in another year haha)

Other Thoughts: Bit pricey for what it is.... but that's just Razer being Razer.

5 out of 5 eggsRazer Blackwidow Ultimate BF 3

Pros: The Cherry blue mechanical keys are my favorite for
touch and feedback. Improves my typing..
The orange lighting is terrific, not too bright, easiest to read at a glance.
Battlefield 3 graphics are minimal and attractive..IMO

Cons: Light the secondary numerals under the numbers, and it would be perfect.

Other Thoughts: Sound of these Cherry blue keys would only be a concern for someone sharing space with others.
Great keyboard choice for typing and gaming.
I would never have thought of orange lighting, a bit
of genius I think.

5 out of 5 eggsStill clacking away!

Pros: Indestructible!?!
Side USB port
Great Software
Macro Keys
Mechanical... blues.. would have preferred browns
Long Heavy braided cable
Orange Back-lit keys

Cons: Didn't care for the battlefield 3 paint-job... no biggie though just painted over it.

Other Thoughts: Ok... So this thing has been through hell... I have a 2 year old that loves to climb up on my desk when I'm not looking... It would seem that he has some sort of vendetta with my keyboard, so far he has smashed a whole banana into the keys, spit water onto it, spilt water on it, steps on it as hard as he can, smashes it with his hands, smashes his behind on it lol, and just recently... Pee'd on it... yup pee'd on my keyboard, but with a handful of Q-tips rubbing alcohol and my handy blow dryer this thing is still clacking away.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome quality board

Pros: Good mechanical switches
good, physical feel to the keyboard
BF3 paint job looks great
Orange LEDs match my BF3 mousepad and orange/black case.
long braided cable
Fast, no lag response

Cons: LEDs dimmed after ~7 months of usually being set to full brightness. Sometimes they'll go back up to full but even on highest setting they're dim.

LOUD, but that's to be expected of a mechanical keyboard.

Bad drivers

Other Thoughts: Razer has good keyboards, and their sponsored game products for BF3, ME3, Starcraft, etc are nice...
but please, for the love of all things Newegg, skip the Imperator 2012. I got this keyboard, the BF3 imperator and the Scarab BF3 Edition mousepad. They advertise them to go together but the 4G sensor in the Imperator does not work correctly with mousepads that are multicolored or have designs on them, like the BF3 one. I complained to razer support about it but they said it's not their problem since I'm not using a supported mousepad. THEN WHY ARE YOU ADVERTISING THEM TOGETHER YOU DOLTS?!? Anyways, I switched to a RAT7 and the Imperator is being used with my laptop setup, so I guess I'm fine. Great keyboard though.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Responsive. Does as advertized. Sturdy built.
Back lighting is awesome

usb headphone & mic passthrough is awesome to reduce the rats nest behind the desk.

Cons: The two reasons for the less egg.

even though this can be a pro at times but mostly it is a con.
The clicky clack of keystrokes gets annoying. When playing a game the music/sounds drone out the sound of the KB, but if you're typing a paper or what ever else it is rather a constant drone that gets annoying rather quickly. how ever it does let you know that you have pressed and depressed a key if you're typing in sequences that need to be 100% like coding in c++

Other Thoughts: I wish you could change the color of the back lighting. Orange gets old after a while.

Not a con nor a pro. This thing weighs a ton. Upon receipt of my newegg box my first thoughts was they sent me the wrong stuff before opening the box. To my shock and awe the thing has major heft!
