3 out of 5 eggsFollow up: Better than expected

Pros: At the beginning it was working really nice, but later not so good :(

Cons: For whatever reason, the 1st week I had it, I was able to get good reception up to 30ft from base computer, however, now the mouse clicks are difficult to work and the keyboard keeps missing keystrokes (even after replacing batteries).

Other Thoughts: It responds better at no more than 10ft.
Having to click the "connect" button at the base every time windows starts is still a pain in the neck.
Maybe the wireless router is interfering? (2.4ghz router).
I called Logitech customer support and the rep was not able to tell me if keyboard worked in the 2.4Ghz band...

2 out of 5 eggsNot satisfied

Pros: The mouse

Cons: The keyboard is terribly finicky. It needs to have a direct line of sight and has problems when even 8 feet away from the base. When reinstalling new batteries the keyboard no longer want to work. Have literally now thrown this across the room and am on newegg getting something new. Don't waste your money, go with RF.

4 out of 5 eggsBetter than expected

Pros: good distance; I have the computer in one room and the Big TV is in Living room at approx 30-40ft away, and keyboard/mouse work without a glitch.

Cons: when PC re-starts, I have to click the button to find the keyboard everytime (at the computer side).

Other Thoughts: Having to find a pad for the mouse is kind of pain in the living room; next time I'll purchase a keyboard with a built-in touch pad or something.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Good Overall

Pros: Clean/Unclutterred Design
Very Lightweight
Wireless (RF wireless is better than bluetooth)
Extra/ Custom keys are actually useful
Simple Designed Mouse with Programmable Scroller (scroller rolls and clicks left/ right)

Cons: This problem has happened a few times, Basically the cursor is on a permanent backspace hold. Basically whatever you type it deletes it (as if you are holding down the backspace key) This issue forces me to powerdown physically as opposed to a normal shutdown since nothing else can be done.

This problem was fixed with the recent software updates. (if not I would have returned it)

Since all the updates have been completed, I have not noticed this problem again.

The Standby (Moon shaped button on the far left of the keyboard) no longer functions. I believe this is a software issue again, but something I can deal with. Not enough of a problem to remove an egg.

Other Thoughts: If keyboard would illuminate it would be incredible. I searched hard for a keyboard with a sleek, elegant and intuitive design free from any clutter that normally plague keyboards.

For the first time in my 10+ years in IT, I have used most (if not all) of the shortcuts that have been equipped with this keyboard.

Very simple and does what it was designed to do. That is a winner, good luck on yours!!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard

Pros: Ive owned this keyboard/mouse combo for well over 3 years now.

+ Great Response from keyboard/mouse
+ Slim and sleek design.
+ Wireless
+ Simple drivers that actually work

Cons: The only compaint I have is that the wireless range on it is terrible. The keyboard and mouse literally have to be right next to the receiver or else it wont work properly. Dock one egg for poop range on the RF.

Other Thoughts: This keyboard is great. Its quiet, and it lasts forever. After three years of use, the mouse is finally starting to lose a little bit of its color from wear and tear which is to be expected.

5 out of 5 eggsgood combo

Pros: I really enjoy the feel of this keyboard. It's soft and responsive, and has a great range. I'm using this keyboard to type this right now and I'm about 15 feet away from the transmitter. Also gamed for a bit with it and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.

Cons: Once the mouse goes to sleep after a few minutes there's about a .5-1 second wake-up period. Not at all obstructive in my opinion.

Other Thoughts: Solid purchase for the money if you're looking to get a wireless keyboard/mouse.

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING KEYBOARD AND MOUSE!!!

Pros: Very well made and DURABLE, extremely responsive, batteries last a LOOOOOONG time, Great-looking design, superb range, very comfortable to type with, works terrific with all kinds of games, from shooters to MMORPGs.

Cons: I can't think of a single con after more than a year of ownership.

Other Thoughts: Wanna know how AMAZING this keyboard and mouse are? My keyboard has been dropped many times and functions as good as the day I bought it. And my mouse -- I've spilled water on it, and even dropped it into a FULL glass of milk by accident and it STILL works perfectly! The mouse wheel was only sticky for a day, but even that returned to normal which surprised the heck out of me. This is a MUST buy!

5 out of 5 eggsBullet proof? Possibly.

Pros: For the price this is probably the best wireless general use keyboard I have found. Looks great, installs on XP, Vista, Win 7 no problem. Keys are not the quietest but feel smooth when depressed. Full num pad and media controls are a bonus.

Cons: Operational distance leaves something to be desired. I would not recommend using this for a media center.

Other Thoughts: So in my first review I raved about the fact that I spilled coffee on my keyboard and how it functioned flawlessly AFTER I rinsed it off under the faucet. Fast forward roughly 8mos and repeat. This time it took a day or two to completely dry out but violas, I am typing on the same keyboard that was just 48 hours ago covered in coffee and nearly drowned in H2O. Great product IMO.

4 out of 5 eggsHappy with purchase

Pros: Lightweight, media keys, tilt wheel on mouse.

Cons: Keyboard doesn't work outside of my office without direct line-of-sight signal.

Other Thoughts: I love the tilt wheel on the mouse, after only a week I'm trying to go back/forward with the mouse at home (use the set in the office). It works in Explorer too, for folder navigation. The mouse is light and precise, feels comfortable in my hand.

The keys on the keyboard aren't as clicky as my Thinkpad keyboard (which are known for their quick response) but still better than a full-size keyboard. I love the extra keys, you can use the zoom in many programs and the media keys work with MediaMonkey very well.

2 out of 5 eggsDo Not Buy

Pros: Cheap as hell, plug and play

Cons: First off I'm confused as to why they still make non-bluetooth wireless keyboards, part of that, the receiver is huge compared to any bluetooth device, I'm contemplating cutting the entirely superfluous clear plastic leg to make it fit better. Second off I've never even had want to use any of the ill-placed media buttons that probably raised the price by ten or twenty bucks.

Thirdly, the thing is entirely unstable 15% of the time, and this is not reliably cured by pushing the connect button or takin the batteries out. The symptoms can be described as one third of the time none of the buttons do anything, one third of the time a random assortment of buttons don't do anything, and the remaining one third of the time a button jams, most often the backspace key. As I said this is relatively uncommon, at 15% of the time, but it tends to happen in a series of closely occuring episodes, between four and eight times in a number of hours then nothing for a three days.

Other Thoughts: Given it's failings this keyboard isn't worth half of what newegg is selling it for, which is less than I payed for it, and it's reliability is completely unacceptable for a keyboard of any quality.

About the mouse:
I used it twice and then threw it out, I needed a keyboard, if I had bought only a keyboard it would have cost at least 20$ more. From what I could tell it was not a very nice mouse, and like the media buttons, probably added an amount us customers would prefer not to pay. Likely if they cut out the unnecessary features they could sell this keyboard for 29.99-35.99, and still make a profit.

But as I said to begin with, Do Not Buy, you will regret it.
