Question 1

For those of you who've had the G710 keyboard for a while, how are the leds holding up? Any of them burn out yet?

I've had mine for about 2 years now and all of the LEDs are functioning as well as they did on the day that it arrived. They are very bright on the highest setting, though I personally keep them turned down a bit and leave them at that setting. I've had my keyboard lit for weeks at a time with no issues. I am very satisfied with my G710.

Question 2

Will this keyboard work with windows 10?

Yes,  i upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7,  Logitech  already released a update for Windows 10 so everything will work as always.

Question 3

Do I need to use the 2 USB cords for it to work, or is one for the USB jack on the keyboard and the other the actual power supply?

Accepted Answer

Yes need two USB ports open. One USB gives power to the back light  and the other is for the keyboard use. You can just plug in one and it will work with no lights.

What do the G keys do by default, if you don't program them?  Do they send keycodes to the application, or are they just completely dead?

Some programs defaulted them to some functions randomly. I wouldn't recommend board my keys came off really easy and really didn't gave the feel I was looking for.

Question 5

Is it true that the keycaps are thin and brittle as some reviewers claim?  Is there a reason for that, other than for Logitech to save money on keycaps?  Has anyone had any luck replacing them with higher quality keycaps?

I would buy this keyboard today if not for the keycaps issue.  But thin brittle keycaps that tend to break are the last thing I need.  But I might buy it anyway, if I can replace the keycaps with higher quality ones.

I havent had any issues with the keys and i consider myself a pretty agressive keyboard user. I dont know anything about replacing them, but if you dont beat it with a closed fist it will probably be fine.

Are the keycaps replaceable? I really want to use keycaps with korean characters on them but it's pretty hard to find one.

I personally love the keyboard, but it sounds like the key caps break and replacements don't work perfectly with the Logitech's key spacing.

Search for 'G710 replacement keys' on Google.

Should I get the corsair k70 or the Logitech g710+? If you have a better keyboard for about $130, tell me and tell me what keyboard is better. Thanks.

I don't know about the corsair but the Logitech has been a great buy for me. I prefer the mechanical keys and the layout works well for me. I play several online game including Marvel Heroes and WoW and the keyboard has worked well for me.

Question 8

I currently have a Logitech G15 and I type very fast how ever when I do type fast my keys some times press in the wrong order like The ends up being hte or something.

I need something for gaming + where I can type with out epic fails and random button sticking.

What color cherry is this keyboard?

Also I need something where I feel like it does not take a lot of pressure to push the buttons down thus more fatigue in my fingers

This keyboard has Cherry MX brown switches. As for typing super fast, I haven't had that issue before but I don't think I type relatively fast. The only issue I had with typing fast was that there's no space between the a key and the caps lock. On my previous keyboard there was a space and it took me a good week or so to get used to it and I would always turn caps lock on. I haven't had any issues with sticking, but I have had my ALT key pop off a couple of times because it's my push-to-talk key on voip programs, but it's not really an issue. Going from an old non-mech keyboard to this I can notice there's a little bit of more force needed to push down the keys, but honestly it's not really not that much of a difference.

Is the 26 key rollover enough to detect every key that you hit when you smash your face into the keyboard? I need to know.

Not only will it register every key that your face hits, it will go as far and get the 12 additional keys from your first hitting keys.

If you have a bit of forethought you could also program some of the G keys to  emulate the face smash so you won't have to hurt your delicate features.

Question 10

is this keyboard the same one as the Logitech G710 Plus on the Logitech web site with the orange keys above the number keys on the upper left side?  Part number 920-0013887?  The pic on your web sites does not look like the one on the Logitech web site.

It's the same. Those keys you're talking about are mode selectors for the GKeys. In reality, only the the mode (M1, M2, M3) that is in use is lit orange, as the color is from an LED.
