Is the refurbished in original packaging?

mine came in original packaging, but you can tell the keyboard was returned because of the finger print on it from previous user. Otherwise it works fine and seems to be no issue.

Can you just keep it plugged in to keep it charged or use it wired instead of over wireless?

Eric M: First, this is a fantastic keyboard/trackpad - especially for living room usage with your various home theater components. To answer your questions: (a) Sure you could keep it plugged in all the time, but the battery life is great. I charge mine about once a week even though I use it almost every day with my Blu-ray player, laptop, and tablet. (b) The unit is wireless only, there is no option to connect a USB cable like a traditional keyboard. I have really enjoyed this purchase and have discovered that the K830 is immediately recognized by a wide variety of electronics without a driver install (note that on a PC, the driver will add some nice features to the keyboard and trackpad). Not to my knowledge. The Bluetooth version does not have a mouse pad.

is this keyboard compatible with chromebox?

I doubt that it will work, give Logitech support a call before buying one.  I use mine on my HTPC running Windows 7.  ChromeOS is a Linux kernel with the Chrome browser style of UI running on top.  I am not sure if the Linux kernel supports this type of rf keyboard.  Your best bet if Logitech says it will not work would be to look for the same features in a Bluetooth keyboard.  If you cannot find one here then expand your search via Google.

1) yes, the only thing the computer needs is an available USB Port and at least Windows XP.

2) I can't answer fully however Logitech does have drivers for Mac OSs
