2 out of 5 eggsUpdate to previous review

Pros: Update to my previous 4 star review

Cons: Typing on this keyboard quickly went from relative joy to irritation. I have about 5-6 keys that make a metallic pinging noise when I type (without bottoming out) including the space bar. The best way to describe it would be tapping a teaspoon inside of a tin can. Installing O-Rings have not fixed it and even removing the keycaps and testing the switches themselves proved to be unsuccessful. The sound seems to happen on release of the keys after they actuate. Not sure if this is common with all mechanical keyboards but it certainly takes the joy out of typing on it and I'm planning to send it back.

4 out of 5 eggsBuilt like a tank

Pros: Extremely well built, nice even backlighting, pleasing actuation with keystrokes, thick braided USB cable, love the font choice for the keys.

Cons: Not sure whether it's a fault in mine or just the way it was designed, but the F12 key doesn't light up the same as the others, might be because it's the Windows lock key so they wanted to differentiate it but I'd rather have the option to do that myself and have consistency across all the keys.

Another minor con is that the keystrokes are a lot louder than I expected for brown switches, sound more like blues to me. Nothing major overall though!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: got it for $99 on sale a wile back and no complanits. after buying 3 outher keyboards over a 2 month time span i went with this and it seems to be a solid worth it product. i feel like i got my moneys worth .[brown key]

Cons: neweggs review removeal

Other Thoughts: well it looks like the egg been removing reviews . why is that? as i rember the reviews for this item were all 4-5 egg [???] wwhats the point of having reviews of items if your not going to leave them for folks to read?? looking over items that i had bought from the egg and reviewed most all have been removed , good and bad. how does this help someone deside on weather or not its a solid item and will fit there needs ??? or will they now be fooled on an item do to reviews being removed that may have showed an issue with that item??

5 out of 5 eggsSimple, solid, high quality keyboard.

Pros: Someone actually put quality first when engineering and building this keyboard.

Absent is the potentially destructive driver/firmware software that is known to render other keyboards nothing more than paperweights. (One such keyboard manufacturer actually makes it impossible to revert it's firmware back to earlier versions if and when it's firmware takes on a mind of it's own.)

Full keyboard lighting, not simply a few right-handed default FPS keys. Why some keyboards only light up WASD and/or arrow keys (CM being guilty of this, too) is beyond me. Maybe it's because I'm left-handed and find WASD absolutely useless.

Mechanical keys. Rubber dome is fine for Mom and Dad to check their e-mail with, but for us gamers (I'm 43 and a father...I mean MY Dad :P), those just aren't going to cut it. I went through 3 rubber dome lighted keyboards in about a year before buying my first mechanical keyboard. Unfortunately, in just under 3 years, it decided to press the Enter key all by itself whenever it darn well pleased, and thought a select few other keys should register twice from time to time.
I can't see any of that happening with this keyboard.

I press (hit would be a more accurate description) the keys pretty hard when playing games like Battlefield and other shooters. Which is exactly why I replaced so many Saitek Eclipse keyboards a few years back. That doesn't even faze this keyboard.

Cons: I would have liked blue lighting with this keyboard, but as I didn't want the switches that come with the blue one (Cherry MX blue), I'll live with the white backlit keys (Cherry MX brown). Keeping that in mind, I'm happy that red lighting wasn't the only option!

Other Thoughts: While I do miss the key configuration software and macro recording feature of my previous mechanical keyboard, I'm confident this keyboard will far outlast that one simply because this one doesn't have either of those options.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat KeyBoard Heavy/Sturdy/Loud

Pros: - Love the Brown Switch, took some time getting used to (coming from Apple style keyboards). Can't believe how responsive the click is and how much faster I can type now.
- Love the LED option. The main reason I chose this keyboard is because of full LED and full size. Can't go wrong with a full size.
- F Function keys are well suited to what people us them for these days. No extra bulk.
- THIS THING IS HEAVY - The rubber grips on the bottom help the thing from sliding and the sheer weight of the keyboard keeps you from moving it during gaming sessions.

Cons: - Loud, the clickity clack from this thing annoys others when they visit. Oh well, not really a con.
- No additional palm rest (that I'm aware of) for the unit. It sits rather tall and requires that my wrists are elevated off the table I use. ( I primarily use a Macbook or Mac keyboard which feels like they sit level to the table/desk I use)

Other Thoughts: - More LED brightness levels would be nice. The lowest setting can almost be distracting if you are playing a dark lit game.

5 out of 5 eggsfantastical

Pros: -Works wonderfully
-Backlit + options
-Its a mechanical keyboard

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Easily the best keyboard I've ever used. It's my first mechanical and its definitely worth the pricetag (which isn't bad by comparison to other similar mech boards)

5 out of 5 eggsSolid all-around

Pros: Heavy, solid, sturdy, well built, etc. keyboard. I expect this thing to last my decades. Keys are all well lit and the MX Browns feel great.

Cons: No key macros, programmable back-lighting, or USB ports.

Other Thoughts: Although I prefer the heavy and large footprint some may not. Weighs just over three pounds.

5 out of 5 eggsTyping again

Pros: Please understand that I am using this keyboard as a typing keyboard, not gaming!! I love getting a keyboard that feels like a "old time keyboard"!

Cons: The keys are a bit sensative, but I'm getting used to.

Other Thoughts: Great to be back to a "click" keyboard.

5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: The texture of the matted keys and the resistance of cherry brown is phenomenal. The full backlit LED makes it look cool. I'm use to typing on HP membrane keyboards at work and my MacBook Pro. Now I just need to find some unique keycaps for the ESC and Windows keys.

Cons: Not having replaceable key caps like in the other Quick Fire series keyboards. How can you give a key cap tool but no key caps?

Other Thoughts: Now I'm curious to see how the other cherry switches are like.
