5 out of 5 eggsThe picture isn't what it seems

Pros: KeyTronics has made excellent keyboards for many years and I was saddened when my old one died many years ago with its old AT connector. I love the feel of these keyboards.

Cons: THIS IS NOT AS THE PHOTO DEPICTS. The photo depicts an all English keyboard. This keyboard has both English and Russian character sets on the keys. I love the keyboard, but I don't like the dual character set.

I am exchanging my keyboard for one that is English only.

Other Thoughts: Customer service is allowing me to return the keyboards without a restocking fee because of the notes above. Kudos! I do love doing business with a company that handles customer service issues quickly and properly.

All of the companies that display images of products need to make sure that the image of the product actually depicts the product, or tells you that it is only representative of the product AND to see the actual product and all specs, you should go to the manufactures website. Newegg does provide this link and I applaud them for that, if they'd tell you you REALLY need to go there to see an accurate image of the product, it would be better.

5 out of 5 eggsHigh Quality

Pros: Very comfortable feel, satisfying key clicks, lifetime warranty. This is an extremely high quality keyboard for a great price. I have noticed my typing speed increasing and hand fatigue decreasing. It is hard to find a well-made PS/2 keyboard in the age of wireless/extra features.

Cons: No USB if that's a problem for you. Adapters are widely available. The switches are not mechanical, but that is hard to find in this price range.

Other Thoughts: Note that this model has both English and foreign characters on most keys. There is an English-only model as well.

If you spend a lot of time typing, this is the keyboard for you. The keys are full-size, and the layout had not been fooled with.

5 out of 5 eggsBest keyboard ever

Pros: This was the very first keyboard I ever purchased, with the very first system I ever built - in 1997. Beautiful feel, very well designed. I had this keyboard for 10 YEARS with nary a problem. It survived crumbs and small liquid accidents.

Cons: None. Sadly, it did not survive a large liquid accident. Which is why I'm here today :-/

Other Thoughts: TEN YEARS! How many can say they've had any piece of computer equipment working continuously for that long?

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Good shape. Love the way it fits my hands. No fatigue. Would buy another if needed.

5 out of 5 eggsPrevious review = Farthest from the truth

Pros: Beautifully simple and stylish design. Built to last. Get much more than you pay for in the quality department. Looks dang sexy on your desk.

Cons: For the price... none whatsoever.
But I would definately love it even more If it had mechanical switches and maybe backlit keys(If thats even possible at the same time). But I Digress. Not BEERproof. :(

Other Thoughts: Used over 2 years before I spilled a beer on it. Which understandably toasted it. Until then I had zero problems. This keyboard has been choosen for Maximum PC's Dream Machine twice to my knowledge (back in 04 and again this year). Hardly something to scoff at and definitive proof that this is a top notch peripheral.

1 out of 5 eggsA B C D E _ G

Pros: This keyboard is very sturdy, and resembles the model M o days long past. The keys have varying levels o tactile pressure, even though honestly that really isn't needed.

Cons: The added thickness serves to prevent it rom easily being snapped in hal over your leg. As soon as I got it, I noticed the "F" key to not work correctly. You have to push it insanely hard to get it to register. The space bar is not at a comortable angle, and your thumb rests on the edge o it, which hurts after a while. The keys take a lot o pressure to push down, and the typing experience is not pleasurable at all. Another thing is that every thirty seconds or so, all functions randomly cut out or a ew seconds. This completely messes up any gameplay or casual typing.

Other Thoughts: The box says, in bright red letters, "Absolutely Positively The Best Keyboard You Can Buy!" and "The Best Keyboards In The World GUARANTEED!" This, however, could not be urther rom the truth..

5 out of 5 eggsLIfetime Designer Wins

Pros: 1. Lifetime Warranty
2. Highest quality membrane switches
3. Quiet
4. Different levels of tactile feedback
5. Much much better than 99% of they keyboards on the market today.

Cons: 1. It wasn't free
2. Membrane keyswitches still inferior to mechanical keyswitches.
3. Seems a little soft compared to alps or buckling springs switches.
4. If you're trying to build carpal strength or recovering from a RSI injury you may want to look at something with more engineering in it (i.e. mechanical).

Other Thoughts: Overall I am extremely happy with this keyboard. I've used keyboards with either alps (dell at101w) or buckling spring (IBM model M) style keyswitches exclusively over the last few years and this is the first membrane that I've used that I thought was even anywhere near worthwhile to work on for more than 2 minutes. It definitely falls between the high levels of engineering that go into mechanical keyboards and the lack of engineering that goes into most membrane keyboards; probably closer to the mechanical ones in feel. I personally switch between this and a model-M about every 3 months in order to vary the degrees of stress I am placing on my hands. I also think that some Microsoft keyboards feel ok, but this is still far better. I highly recommend it!
