1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It looks good thats about it.

Cons: Following the instructions to align the tablet ended with the tablet taking all input at a 45 degree angle and would not align properly.

3 out of 5 eggsOk if you have time to play

Pros: Bought the device to use with predefined form paper. Install was ok and as a tablet for "drawing" not bad. However, I'm no artist. Number of optional items included.

Cons: Never could get paper to algin with forms used (orginal intent). Included s/w was ok and required some "playtime" to figure it out.

Other Thoughts: The price was ok, just didn't get the true function I needed it for.

1 out of 5 eggsCan't buy it - not 64bit drivers

Pros: All reviews and info shows it as great tool. OCR optional... oh well but...

Cons: No 64bit support in the middle of 2010? Unacceptable. Check their website.

Other Thoughts: Get 64 bit windows 7 drivers and I'll buy it right away.

5 out of 5 eggsJust right

Pros: Does exactly what i wanted, When on the go it is a handy note recorder on everything you write. When home used as a tablet for drawing and even as a mouse with the pen as the cursor. I recomend this for anyone who may have any need to record their notes to have the filed in order. Extremely precise when conected to PC.

Cons: If the ink runs out you need to buy the replacements since the notepad itself is magnetic and needs the pen it came with to work. DO NOT LOSE THE PEN.

Other Thoughts: People have complained on the line skipping of the pen, i find it that if you use it correctly you wont have any problems. Press the pen down hard enough so that the point goes in a little (not that much strength needed o.0) and it will, WILL record everything you write.

4 out of 5 eggspretty good digital notepad

Pros: works as advertised. allows you to take note which are then imported into Evernote software. Also allows you to use it like a Wacom board, using the pen as a mouse. With fixed or relative movement on the pad, it can be very useful for a graphics person (I'm not one).

Cons: The tablet is a little on the thick side and slightly heavy, I always had it in my laptop bag, so wasn't too noticeable, but if you are a person with a lot of stuff in your bag, you may notice an increase in weight. The Evernote software needs some work (there may have been an update to the software since I last used it) scrolling through my notes taken is either very slow or eye bleeding fast, with no in-between.

Other Thoughts: i bought this to take notes on in class, and it worked fairly well. It's nice that you don't have to use special paper to make this tablet work. I haven't used it in months, but I think it's due to the fact that I don't take many notes (and i graduated college...)

4 out of 5 eggsmeh

Pros: it does what it says
nice case
adesso customer service has been nice to deal with in the past

Cons: I really bought this to compile class notes, but it ended up a cumbersome extra step .. it just wasn't as slick as I had hoped .. and 4 cds of software was just kind of .. well.. I refuse to put that much garbage on my computer for one device ..

Other Thoughts: digital pen? why? the one it comes with doesn't 'do' anything ... I can't help but think this pad should be pressure sensitive and do away with the need for another device (pen)

3 out of 5 eggsOk for computer but not for paper

Pros: When used with digital stylus as input device, accuracy and functionality are good. Can be used as paper capture, although functional OCR software would GREATLY help this device.

Cons: The quality of the pen is miserable when writing on paper. Skips continuously, no matter how often you change the nib, especially in a dusty environment. No OCR software with it (have to buy separate, and doesn't integrate with Microsoft OCR/Office stuff well). Software is poor and badly integrated - should not have to open multiple programs to do one function.

Other Thoughts: I'm a manufacturing engineer, and bought this to use on the floor and during meetings to capture text notes, diagrams, sketches when I cannot use a computer. After filling up six or seven notebooks with chronologically organized notes, I wanted a digital solution that could be subject-referenced for easier lookups later.

The pad records notes & diagrams, but can't tell what you're writing on the paper if the pen continually skips. Ended up being useless for this purpose, but good for computer input with the stylus. Not as good as a Wacom unit, but cheaper.

Hopefully next generation of these will have a pen that actually works as a pen. Either that or tablet PCs get cheap/light enough for industry to buy...

4 out of 5 eggsGood tablet

Pros: Bought this off newegg (hooray) and the actual tablet pen off the company website (boo!)
The tablet pen makes this a much more functional product by adding two buttons.
I had carpal tunnel from the mouse at work and my bad ergonomics. This is well on the way to fixing that problem.
Different from a mouse for sure.
Can use very light strokes to do what I want.
Much cheaper than a WACOM of the same size, but I can't compare functionality.
Have not used the writing saving feature that much, it's primarily a computer sketchpad for me. Did seem to work okay when I did try it.
Can see the pens through about 0.5" of paper.
Writing surface (below paper) is a transparency like piece of plastic. Slips out, can be cleaned. Protects what is below it well.

Cons: Doesn't come with digital tablet pen.
Software for the most part is cr@ppy. Functionality is split up among 4 programs that should all be one. Seem to be mostly for show.
Not nearly as sensitive as a mouse, but works pretty well in absolute mode.
Digital pen (a necessary component for anyone considering serious with computer use) is twitchy.
Buttons sometimes won't work, get stuck, or don't seem to get the command through. Have to repeatedly hit the thumb buttons sometimes.
Writing surface (the transparency piece) WILL develop blemishes, scratches etc if it isn't protected by paper.
I write on it because I like the feel.

Other Thoughts: Nice case. Comes with paper.

1 month of use saw battery in the pen die (alkaline by default). Stuck a rechargeable in there. Another two have gone by, I just recharge the battery every once in a while.
Packaging with Myscript Notes or something similar would be really cool.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very impressed with the stuff they packed with it. Nice pseudoleather case, came with NiMH batteries AND the charger to boot. They even included a pad of paper. Works well. Has both internal memory and SD slot. Makes for an ok tablet for pc work. Excelent customer service via Adesso.

Cons: No pressure sensitivity with stylus included in PC tablet mode. Customer service said that a standard replacement stylus from other Adesso products would provide that functionality though. The actual pen that fits in the stylus is a cheap ball point. Pad saves to an unusual format of file that specialised software is needed to read. Conversion to other formats can be cumbersome. The software included is functional however. Driver as a tablet is somewhat buggy. It wont save resizing of the active area. Styus doesnt have a "right click" ability on the stylus.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is the pad for you!

Pros: Easy to use and set up, has built in SD media slot and you get a sweet little case for it.

Cons: The updates for software on their website could be a bit better.

Other Thoughts: New Egg Rocks and so does this Product!
