4 out of 5 eggsAlmost Perfect

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: - Excellent feel. The keys are a dream to type on.

- Sturdy construction. All parts have a quality feel to them.

- Media controls. They have everything you need! I love them!

- Very quiet for a mechanical keyboard. 1st time mechanical keyboard owner here and I was expecting much a louder experience.

- White LEDs for caps, number and scroll lock.

- Windows key lock.

- LEDs are bright.

Cons: - Red LEDs. I really don't like red and for the price I should have the option to change the LEDs to any color I want. I would give this a 5 star rating if it weren't for the red LEDs. My previous keyboard was a Logitech Illuminated Keyboard K740. It has white LEDs and it was a pleasure to look at especially during the evening. I don't understand why the keys are red and the caps, number and scroll lock keys are white.

- Very thick USB cord. For the thickness, I would have expected more than one extra USB slot on the keyboard.

- USB slot in back of keyboard (a con if you have limited desk space).

- Brushed aluminum shows finger oils easily.

- Media keys and controller buttons could have been raised higher. It makes it more difficult than it should be to reach the media controls.

- Not in love with the font on the keys. I was expecting a larger, less bolded font.

- Hand rest feels slick and doesn't provide a lot of friction. You get used to it but I'm going to be picky for the cost of this keyboard.

Other Thoughts: This is my first mechanical keyboard. I ordered the cherry mx brown for work because it was supposed to be quiet and it is for a mechanical keyboard. I also liked the idea of a middle bump when pressing down. However, when I type fast, I don't even notice the bump, which is surprising. Overall this is a fantastic keyboard. I like it more than I thought I would. My biggest complaint is the red LEDs. I might actually return this and get a Das Keyboard 4 Professional because the red LEDs bug me so much.

5 out of 5 eggsThis keyboard is sinfull!

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: They should arrest you for using this board - the key presses are just sensual! Much, much better than a membrane board like my previous Logitech.

Cons: The only problem I had was that the keys seemed closer together than my previous board. However, that feeling went away within a day (so it is not really a problem).

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Keyboard

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: Incredible keyboard, love the feel and look of the keys and how they sound. It's comfortable to type on and the function keys area great. The Windows Key disable button is perfect for gaming. Like the LED underlighting along with the ability to customize your keys.

Cons: Thick cable, and I'm talking thick, not so bad when you get it in place but if you travel with a keyboard this might be a bit of a problem for you.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Keyboard

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: - The feeling of the keys is amazing (almost everyday I have a moment where I just realize how good the keyboard feels)
- The keyboard looks amazing
- The keyboard feels high-quality
- The keyboard is easy to clean

Cons: The only con (very minor) I can think of is that the red LED can't be turned off for the leftmost round button on the top of the keybooard. Since I really don't like red leds (I think it looks childish) it is somewhat annoying, but as I said it's very minor.

5 out of 5 eggsMechanical 4 Life Now

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: First time ever using a mechanical keyboard...wow what a difference! Plug and play with just a firmware update from the website. Love how you can make just the W,S,A,D and arrow keys light up with a push of a button (great for FPS games)

Anti ghosting is a must have for any gamer.

Cons: Price? But compared to the junk Razer Deathstalker I was using, it's only a little more.

Other Thoughts: I hated the Deathstalker with all my heart and soul. The buttons were weird or something, as I kept miss typing and hitting multiple keys when I typed. They were short keys, the Corsair Vengeance has nice raised keys, that you KNOW what you are pressing as you can feel and don't have to constantly correct spelling.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good addition

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: Lovely feel (cherry MX Brown) and great LED configuration capability. Ease of cleanup a great plus.

Cons: Needs a bit of getting used to, and my office keyboard is membrane-based. So the first few minutes of playing are always a bit unsettling... Not the Keyboard's fault.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat, But Loud

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: I decided to upgrade my keyboard. I needed one with a smaller profile, but still provided better functionality and usage (my last keyboard did not have Print Screen key).

Typing on this beast feels majestic. It's got the snap of pressure when pressing down on a key. Having used soft keys for years, I never realized how much I actually missed a mechanical keyboard. And while it may entirely be a placebo effect, I have to say gaming wit the K70 feels much more responsive, each keystroke responding instantly.

No regrets!

Cons: Can still be quite a bit loud. The Brown MX switches are the quieter of the bunch, but if you're looking for a quiet keyboard this is NOT the keyboard for you. That said, it's not as loud as other mechanical keyboards, it's definitely noticeable.

Other Thoughts: The cable on this puppy is quite thick. I've never seen a keyboard cable with two USB connectors.

5 out of 5 eggsK70 Mech Brown

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: Great feel, I use the wrist attachment. Write research papers and game. Can pop off keys to clean anything that falls inbetween as well.

Cons: None I am aware of?

Other Thoughts: I have spent over $110 on keyboards which would be considered ergonomic from microsoft and from Razer. Was dissatisfied every time. I expressed restraint buying a mechanical keyboard for so long because I just didn't want to pay the money but I have no regrets. The asia girl who is on the newegg youtube channel did a comprehensive review on these keyboards and that was helpful

2 out of 5 eggsMajor flaws, but it does work.

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: Solid construction, not as loud as some mechanical keyboards. Looks nice. It works, which is the only reason I give it any eggs.

Cons: LEDs started dying not long after I got it. 5 are completely dead and maybe a dozen more are dimming. That's just not acceptable in a $100+ keyboard. It's either bad quality control or bad design. The lighting is badly done to begin with, for example the numbers are dim but the symbols above them on the same keys are bright.

Other Thoughts: The USB cable is stupidly over engineered. It looks like it's designed to run 200' alongside a power main, not 4 feet across my desk. It's 1/4" thick and very stiff. If you put force on it near the plug it would happily pry the USB jack off the motherboard. I would be afraid to use it with a laptop.

It's clearly hobbyist grade, flashy and feature heavy but low quality and badly designed.
