3 out of 5 eggsPoor quality control

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: -Great build quality
-Media controls
-Backlit keys
-Wrist rest
-Clean astetics

Cons: First keyboard had a broken keycap and was missing LED on a different key. I sent it back for RMA. Second keyboard has broken volume wheel.

Other Thoughts: I would love a functional keyboard, and I hope to receive one when I pay $100+ for a keyboard. But it's not worth RMA-ing repeatedly to be entered into the lottery for a fully functional model.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: Fantastic included palm rest that outshine any additional one and works when keyboard is in the raised position,

Browns are satisfying and come with a bit of a click that usually isn't heard on them though with this keboards raised keys they hit and make a sound (could be a con),

FULL cover over all keys, they are all mechanical here, no mech membrane crossover here

Comes with an included key puller and extra "gaming" keys

Windows lock key and an included LED profile for if you want to illuminate specific keys

Included USB passthrough allows you to plug a mouse into te keyboard

A switch on the back for compatibility and polling rates very nice

And last but not least is the design, this thing is an absolute tank and will last you for years to come with proper maintenance, also great braided cable

Oh yeah and the media keys are great too, and the mute key is a life saver for when sound is a bit to loud and you need to quickly mute it

Cons: Gaming keys for wasd have raised edges which while cool in theory only make them annoying for typing so you I don't get to take advantage of the otherwise very nice grip.

The number grip keys only show numbers and not the signs for when you want to type??? Another oversight by corsair, I am not going to keep my keycap puller handy for evertime I alt tab or need to type!

LED's don't dim down enough and can be distracting at night

You can't turn off the very bright white lights on the keyboard that show you when you have caps num or scroll lock on.. kinda nitpicky but it is distracting

5 out of 5 eggsSimply perfect!

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: Well-lit; gorgeous lettering font; fully media-friendly; volume wheel is perfect for audiophiles like me; much more sensitive than my other KBs; solid as a tank!

Cons: It needs to be a bit more prominently displayed that this KB is strictly one color-red-only.

Other Thoughts: The photo examples of this KB do not do it justice; this is a gorgeous tool for gaming. The lettering/.numbering on the keys is very well-defined. The separate media keys/volume wheel was what made me hit "Buy". Sensitivity is taking a bit getting used to, but that's a plus.

5 out of 5 eggsMy Favorite Keyboard

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: -Brown keys are best I've used
-Solid feel of aluminum frame
-Open construction allows easy removal of debris and cleaning
-Super bright, red LEDs
-Volume wheel
-Ease of customization with Cherry MX compatible keycaps

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I feel this is the best mechanical keyboard value around. I like the brown switches but wish they were more tactile and a little stiffer. If more switches were available like clear, that would be awesome but I see why they would limit variations. Having said that I love this keyboard. You won't regret getting it.

Also, I got the vengeance version without the lame gaming logo. If the description is Corsair Gaming K70 then it has the tr4mp stamp logo.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent keyboard

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: I've owned many Corsair mechanical keyboards. They've all been fantastic. This is my first foray into MX Brown switches. Previously, I'd always had MX Red switches.

I love the tactile feel. Browns feel like Blues, but are much quieter. It feels phenomenal to type on.

The backlight is wonderful. I'm a sucker for red (plus its better for low-light environments).

Reactive typing mode is a nice gimick, but I don't use it unless I'm showing off.

Cons: Nothing to speak of.

Other Thoughts: Corsair's keyboards also come with flip down risers on the FRONT of the board, which is recommended. Ergonomically, you should type with the keyboard tilted slightly away, not toward you.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective replacement, BEWARE of a possible defective batch

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: the keys feel great and the customizable backlighting is easy to use and yields great results

Cons: Unfortunately, after receiving my initial defective unit, I decided to try much luck with Corsair again and order a new one, arriving at the conclusion that the chance of me getting a 2nd defective one was low and no competitor offered the same features. The 1st had a defective volume wheel that became difficult to turn and made grinding noises at a point in its cycle in addition to partially attached switch. The 2nd one also came with a defective volume wheel with the same issues but exacerbated. I really thought I was getting a premium product for the price, but I guess I cannot expect that from Corsair. I really don't understand how the quality control can be this bad. Usually the chances of receiving a product with the same defect twice are very low. Too bad the Quickfire TK with MX Browns is out of stock.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat keyboard

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: LED Brightness
Mechanical
Brushed Aluminum
Soft Wristrest

Cons: None really

Other Thoughts: Bought this to replace a much worn and well enjoyed Logitech G510. I wanted to go the Mechanical route this time and spent a few hours researching the different switch types, their sound and feel. Went to a local Best Buy to "test drive" different switch types on various keyboards. I went in thinking the MX Blues were for me, but not 5 mins in store, I was on phone ordering the Browns.

Overall so far this is a much better keyboard then my G510 and I dont miss the LCD screen at all (pointless really in the end). One thing I was hesitant on was the LED brightness. The G510 has full RBG support, but the darker colors were FAR too dim for me in front of 3x 27 inch PC monitors. The K70 even on the lowest brightness is VERY visible, with high being too much and almost an eye strain.

The build quality is superb and I love the brushed aluminum. Keyboard was a lot heavier than I thought and not cheap plastic like the G510. I do miss the dedicated macro keys found on the G510, but I couldn't find a K95 in browns...

Overall this is a fantastic keyboard. Very satisfying to type on, after using membrane based keyboards up to this point. I notice I type faster as well, but there is a break in period to get used to it and you will have a ton of typos at first. I don’t think I will ever go back to a non-mechanical keyboard.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: Quality Construction, Bright Lighting, VOLUME WHEEL, Textured Key Caps (W,A,S,D,1-6).

Cons: No Shift Symbols (!@#$%^) on the textured caps for Numbers 1-6, which wouldnt be a problem if you only used it for gaming, but I wont be using them since I do a lot of typing and don't have the shift symbols memorized.

This could be an isolated case, but the Corsair Logo "sticker" on my board sticks up on one side like it wasn't adequately glued down. Not a major con, but still a con.

Other Thoughts: Love the keyboard, never going to use another one.

1 out of 5 eggsBUYER BEWARE, Corsair quality control is lacking

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: none for the price

Cons: Honestly, given how saturated the mechanical keyboard market is, there really are no excuses for such poor quality control at this price. I just received mine and the volume wheel (a feature I was looking forward too) makes grinding noises and has varied resistance. Also, the C key's switch is not attached to the backboard/PCB correctly, resulting in a titled key. Newegg's customer service is excellent and has provided a refund, but I will not be trying my luck with Corsair again. I advise anyone considering this keyboard to look to alternatives unless they wish to enter the quality lottery and end up going through the hassle of returned their product if they lose. For $125, a keyboard with these features should at least come functional.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible quality control, unacceptable for a premium priced product

This review is from: Corsair CH-9000067-NA Vengeance K70 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: Most keys feel great and the backlight is pleasant: not too bright, not too dim

Cons: While this may seem like a minor inconvenience, the fact the volume wheel makes grinding noises when spun just speaks to the terrible quality control Corsair has. At this price point, I expected my keyboard to at least function properly on arrival. Instead, I got a faulty keyboard and will have to go through the hassle of returning or refunding it. Also, the noise of the keys is amplified by the metal backboard, which can be annoying at times. I would advise potential customers against purchasing the board on the basis that for the price, they should not be running into any quality control issues. The keys are great and all, but the mechanical keyboard market is quite saturated, and, in my opinion, the features and quality of the keyboard do not justify the price, especially when considering the many competitors, such as the Coolermaster Quickfire series.
