5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong after 6 years

Pros: Great size, resolution, color, and finish. Bought this in early 2007 and haven't had a single issue with it since.

Cons: Obviously the viewing angles aren't up to modern standards, but used as a single display for typical home use, viewing angle is not really much of a concern. However, you really have to be directly in front of it to avoid color shifting on the horizontal extremeties, so I'm looking forward to an eventual upgrade.

The anti-glare coating has developed some permanent blemishes over the years, mainly due to my neglecting to clean it quickly after getting finger prints and other stuff on it. Still, it's held up good enough to keep me satisfied.

I should note that mine didn't really start getting blemishes until I had kids - the things they get on their hands... it's best not to think about it.

Other Thoughts: Great display for its time and still very usable even now. I see that many others haven't had as much luck as I have in terms of longevity, but I guess that's normal in the world of electronics.

I should say that the screen has never had a problem functioning, but over the past couple years it has developed a buzz/hum that lasts about ten seconds after turning on or waking from sleep. At first I thought it might be the beginning of the end, but it's never gotten worse, so I just learned to ignore it.

3 out of 5 eggsFlashing off and on

Pros: Good monitor

Cons: Flashing on and off seems to be an issue with this model

Other Thoughts: I really can't complain - the monitor lasted longer than most here... about 5 years. But, just like everyone else, it's been flashing on and off and I'm now looking for a replacement.

5 out of 5 eggs5 Years Later...

Pros: Samsung Makes some of the best screens and TV's I've ever seen. This monitor is five years old now, and still delivers the same high quality picture as the day I bought it!

Cons: Sadly, this model is discontinued. Nothing good lasts forever.

3 out of 5 eggsFailed after 3 years.

Pros: Looked great, no dead pixels, fine for gaming, sturdy.

Cons: Died after 3 years. Similar to a few other posts I have seen on here, it turns on and off rapidly. I am on newegg right now to purchase a new monitor. The screen was also easily scratched, although I am not sure if this is a problem prone to just this type of LCD or all LCDs; either way it was a bother seeing little scratches over white backgrounds.

Other Thoughts: I probably got my moneys worth over time, but a year or two more would have been expected.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed on me after 3 years

Pros: Good monitor, clean, crisp.

Cons: Failed on me after 3 years. The monitor flickers on and off and never ceases to stop, it is not the graphics card because I unplugged the DVI cable and just turned on the monitor by itself and it continues to flicker on and off with nothing except the power plugged into it.

I'm very unsatisfied with this product for it to die in 3 years.

2 out of 5 eggsExcessive Tearing

Pros: Lots of screen and nice colors/brightness.

Cons: Excessive tearing, not intended for 3d games.

Other Thoughts: Not bad unless you bought it for gaming.

5 out of 5 eggsA+

Pros: The picture quality of the monitor is excellent. Forget the specs, look at this monitor in person at a store and you will see how beautiful the picture is.

Cons: Base doesn't swivel, it's fixed in one position. Yes the blue led light blinks if the computer is off and monitor is on.

Other Thoughts: Fix the cons mentioned and it's 100% perfect. But still A+++ and wouldn't recommend anything else. It won't dissapoint.

5 out of 5 eggsIt hasn't trained me yet

Pros: Samsung, same as my HDTV (which replaced an LG iin three days). They make tubes for Sony so they do quality. Really bright!! I am running at brightness set around 7-10 in a bright room.

3000:1 contrast ratio? Who knows; there is no standard. This comes with all kind of set-me-ups and tweak-me's. Even will create an ICM to use with editing and printing software. I will run the iOne spectro on it tomorrow and make a real ICM, so we'll see. 20" is plenty of real estate for photo editing and printing.

VESA mount on the back if you're so inclined. AND, comes with both cables.

Three year warranty!!

Cons: Plain old swivel stand. This monitor will internally rotate an image 90-deg either way. An option to buy the rotating stand would be nice.

Other Thoughts: When I first got it, I plugged it into my Tosh laptop and used it in dual screen mode. Took right off. (Just playing; it's for the new desktop) On a regular install I would use their drivers. A lot of control in there.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic monitor, fantastic service

Pros: Giant, very good customization for color, contrast, and brightness. Comes loaded with a billion presets and "smart color". Soft led's behind the on button make it look very sleek and professional. Absolutely amazing.

Cons: The original one I got did come with a stuck pixel that appeared after about a week of use. This could have been from it being knocked about in the box for a month after arriving. But no problem, because I just rang up samsung, asked for a replacement, and bam. New monitor, and all is well.

Other Thoughts: Might've gone for the 226BW, but I prefer smaller screens because I only have a 256mb 8800gt :<

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Display

Pros: Great Clarity, Good Contrast. My PC isn't built yet but plugged it in to one of the Lab Computers with the analog connection. Absolutely amazing.

Cons: Didn't buy from here but I think the DVI port might be damaged. Don't know yet. Bought refurbished.

Other Thoughts: If you have any doubts about purchasing a Widescreen LCD especially from Samsung quell them now this Display is awesome. Just looking at it off its a marvel of display design. A lot better looking than other models.
You can actually find the refurb for about 200 bucks at 3btech. Worth it.
