This display is beautiful
- Pros: 1680x1050 and not one dead pixel! I'm using this with Windows Vista Premium and the picture is gorgeous. I've watched movies, played a few games, and watched some TV shows as well. The brightness/contrast is unmatched. I was pinching pennies at the time I bought this and almost went with a 20" Viewsonic instead but am SO glad I went this route. The dual inputs are easy to switch between (simply hit a button on the front of the display). Adjusting the contrast, etc is equally easy. The aesthetics of the display are excellent as well.
ALSO - IT DOES COME WITH A DVI CABLE!!! When I bought mine the newegg description did not list a DVI cable so I bought a separate one. Don't do that - Samsung does provide one.
- Cons: Zilch. nada. There is nothing a reasonable person could complain about .
- Other Thoughts: Samsung makes among the best displays for computers and TVs. To save a few pennies I almost bought the 19" model. Spend the few extra bucks to get the 20!!! This is something you'll still have long after you replace the components in your PC. Do not skimp on your display. This should be the one you get! :)
Also, do yourself a favor and ignore some of the reviews you'll see on "magazine" sites that complain about rendering in the corners of wide screen displays. This thing is beautiful all around.
- Pros: Incredible picture. Lots of real estate. No dead pixels. When gaming I sometimes forget I'm looking at an LCD screen. Worked right away on my old GF4200 card.
- Cons: First one I bought had the dreaded buzzing noise. Menu buttons are a little awkward at first. Blue LED behind power button is very bright - won't bother everyone, but a small piece of black tape does the trick. Tilt adjustment is limited.
- Other Thoughts: Having read about the buzz in other reviews I decided to buy this retail instead of through Newegg, which is a shame since I love Newegg and for the retail price I could have had a 22" at Newegg's price. It was worth exchanging for a non-buzzing one, but Samsung's apparent product problems in this line keeps this from being a 5-star product, which is too bad since it otherwise deserves to be.

Excessive Tearing
- Pros: Lots of screen and nice colors/brightness.
- Cons: Excessive tearing, not intended for 3d games.
- Other Thoughts: Not bad unless you bought it for gaming.
A+
- Pros: The picture quality of the monitor is excellent. Forget the specs, look at this monitor in person at a store and you will see how beautiful the picture is.
- Cons: Base doesn't swivel, it's fixed in one position. Yes the blue led light blinks if the computer is off and monitor is on.
- Other Thoughts: Fix the cons mentioned and it's 100% perfect. But still A+++ and wouldn't recommend anything else. It won't dissapoint.
It hasn't trained me yet
- Pros: Samsung, same as my HDTV (which replaced an LG iin three days). They make tubes for Sony so they do quality. Really bright!! I am running at brightness set around 7-10 in a bright room.
3000:1 contrast ratio? Who knows; there is no standard. This comes with all kind of set-me-ups and tweak-me's. Even will create an ICM to use with editing and printing software. I will run the iOne spectro on it tomorrow and make a real ICM, so we'll see. 20" is plenty of real estate for photo editing and printing.
VESA mount on the back if you're so inclined. AND, comes with both cables.
Three year warranty!!
- Cons: Plain old swivel stand. This monitor will internally rotate an image 90-deg either way. An option to buy the rotating stand would be nice.
- Other Thoughts: When I first got it, I plugged it into my Tosh laptop and used it in dual screen mode. Took right off. (Just playing; it's for the new desktop) On a regular install I would use their drivers. A lot of control in there.
