Perfect Display
- Pros: Many people think that 30 inch monitors are overkill, from my experience with this beauty I say, what are they talking about!! If your working on a Word Doc you can display two sheets and still have room to display iTunes or the Internet. I don't do photo editing so I can't comment on color accuracy but I took some pictures with my camera and they are so detailed at full 2560x1600 it's almost scary. For gaming
any older game (Halo, AoM, BF2) will run full screen smoothly with my 7900 GTX; Oblivion and newer games I just set "Centered Output" and run the game in 1600x1200 or something like that. Works superbly. The monitor itself is remarkably adjustable: Height is nearly 6 inches at full and a little less than 3 inches at shortest height. I can't explain how beautiful games and desktops look with this much room. You can sit close enough to the monitor so that your whole peripheral vision is filled.
- Cons: No serious cons that I can think of.
Will take some getting used to in terms of size when gaming. Sadly, even 1080P videos look pixelated when scaled to full screen, so be aware of that.
- Other Thoughts: Plan on getting a 8800 GTX or higher if you want any future in gaming with this monitor. My 7900 GTX and C2D e6600@3.4Ghz runs BF2 with everything on 4xAA at about 45-60 FPS
Expands My Horizons!
- Pros: This is an AWESOME display. I believe only 3 monitors on the market capable of 2560 x 1600 resolution (the others being the Apple 30" Cinema Display and the HP LP3065. The Samsung 305T is the least expensive of the 3 and has faster response time. It is not quite as sexy as the Apple display but it is a clean, elegantly simple design. It is great having all these pixels when running Eclipse or editing video and photos. I'm so glad I finally got one!
- Cons: It took forever to find one. Most of the online vendors advertising these do not have any in stock. The USB ports are not easy to access, mainly because this screen is just so HUGE. This is not a problem for semi-permanent connections like the keyboard and mouse.
- Other Thoughts: Requires a dual-link DVI to run full resolution. It would be nice to have a second DVI (or HDMI) input would be nice. I had to crank up the acceleration on my mouse to deal with all this extra screen real estate.

Wow
- Pros: This thing rocks. It is perfect. Not a single bad pixel that I can see!
- Cons: It creates a bit of heat! Requires DVI-D video card connector to reach 2560x1600.
Don't buy the open box value
- Pros: Big, beautiful and cheap
- Cons: Only if it worked properly. One thing in the fine print hidden is that open box values do not come with accessories. It wasn't a huge deal but that was the first kicker. Soon as I pull the 305T out the box I noticed a paper clip wedged into the adjustable stand. Odd, but it seemed to work. When I plugged it in using my DVI cable from my old monitor (non-Dual link) I noticed right away a double ring discoloration right above the logo reminiscent of the pattern that a monitor creates when you press on it about an inch and half wide that's omnipresent. Its likely a defect that occurred by physical damage of the previous party.
Needless to say I'm RMAing it and getting my money back.
- Other Thoughts: Seemed to be nice but I didn't get to see it in its 2560 x 1600 glory. The only resolution it supports with a single channel DVI cable is 1280 x 800. Lesson learned, don't buy the
Huge and Crisp
- Pros: I was using a TN panel before this one, the 245BW. I didn't do my research before I bought the 24" but I wouldn't have known better anyways. I thought viewing angle problems and uneven back-light bleeding around the edges was normal on any mid prices monitor. I remember watching a movie,, I couldn't see dark scenes at all if i was at the wrong height. This monitor is sooo much better. I didn't know the colors on my last were so inaccurate until is saw my new 305T. The viewing angle is amazing, and looking at a black screen in the dark there is no bleeding or uneven blackness.
- Cons: The onscreen OSD isn't a con! I would never adjust the gamma or contrast anyways. The brightness only adjustment keep the colors perfect.
- Other Thoughts: It's so funny how I have to move my head slightly to see different parts of the screen. It will be hard to forget how big 30" is. Gaming looks amazing, every game I can run with full resolution on my GTX280, even Crysis. Crysis is the only game that isn't on max settings. My Crysis settings are medium particle, high and very high everything else, 35FPS.
I plugged it in with my previous 245BW DVI cable and was a bit scared because the monitor was still in test mode. Even with the same pins in the other cable, it still must not have been DVI-D so it was failing to connect. I swapped it out for the new one before it connected correctly.
