5 out of 5 eggsTwo more

Pros: Just ordered another two of these for my dual setup at work. Previous post was for home. Only 1 dead pixel at the bottom of the screen on only one monitor. It is set up as second display so I don't really notice it. These displays are great for Solidworks and internet/mail. It is an all around great monitor. Text is sharp, graphics are quick with the 8ms response. I don't play any games so I don't notice ghosting of that type but in Solidworks all the model rotations and zooming happen without any ghosting - the only delay is in the redraw rate of my QuadroFX 1400 and is the same as it was on a CRT.

Cons: See previous post.

5 out of 5 eggsI love Samsung

Pros: Great monitor. much bigger than my 22" CRT. Have two of these on a Quadro card and it is awesome. Color presets are right on with color calibration software. Between the two monitors only one dead pixel.

Cons: lower left corner slight color distortion. Controls for custom color are not very easy to figure out.

5 out of 5 eggsfine monitor

Pros: I only gave myself an average understanding, since monitors aren't what I'm best at. But this is my third LCD display, all still functioning fine. One is a 19" SyncMaster 910T, which this one is now beside. Color, etc, setup was easy. It is HUGE. Lots of tilt/swivel/height adj. I find nothing wrong with it.

Cons: If anything, it may be TOO big. Took me a while to feel like I'm not falling in. Now want a second, as I use dual displays on KVM and dual computers. But really they are fine together, and the picture setup matches well.

Other Thoughts: No spkrs is a plus on a monitor. These don't have them to take up unnecessary room. The monitor does come packed in portrait mode, but I had no problem rotating it into place. I should say, I do not game or need special speed, etc. Am running it on a dual-head 128mb plain PCI adapter in each box.

3 out of 5 eggsNot so good

Pros: Excellent colors and great brightness for a 21". Did not have to fiddle much to get the colors right, pretty much out of the box and ready to go.

Cons: I think its just Samsung but I also bought a 244T and both monitors exhibited the same issue of input lag. The best I can describe is its a feel of the mouse not being as snappy as it should. You move the mouse and it 'lags' behind. For some people this may not bother you but for me it was extremely noticeable and bothered me a lot. Enough that I went and bought another monitor.

Other Thoughts: I wish there were 'input lag' standards because then people would know this befor buying a unit. I bought Westinghouse 24" which does not exhibit the lag effect and is just like a CRT.

My opinion is if your sensitive to a snappy mouse, which I had no clue I was, until I bought a Samsung 244T and had to sell it because it was so bad. So I saw this monitor with great reviews and I thought I would give it a try. Same result but not as bad as the 244T.

4 out of 5 eggsNice monitor with annoying prob

Pros: Crisp display; the rotation ability is nice if you do a lot of document work.

Cons: As others have said, the Manual and on-screen menu could be considerably more informative. Also, the monitor ALWAYS has a pop-up re: whether input is Analog or Digital whenever it's turned on. There is NO way to stop this. This may be minor to others, but our work screensavers often cause the monitor to standby... so I get reminded by a two-second popup a dozen times each day that my input, which has never changed, is still the same as always.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent for video editing and games

Pros: Able to see differences between close shades of gray. The black point is very dark (professional image editors know what that means). In other words, your photos have a lot of dynamic range.

The super fast refresh rate allows for very responsive and good looking video games. There are no trailing images and the primary limit on what you see is your video card (as in how many frames per second).

Cons: I wish that the documentation provided idiot level instructions for some of the advanced functions so I did not need to test them to see what they did. Most people, however, are likely to simply plug it in and forget it.

Other Thoughts: Super bright, excellent image after more than one year of significant use. This monitor was recommended to me by some professional video editors, and they were right on that account. As for games, WAHOO! (even if I do spend most of my time doing serious work under Linux).

2 out of 5 eggsBeware!

Pros: Great color and not a lot of ghosting (you can definately see ghosting though).

Cons: There is a serious input delay on this monitor. Some people don't detect the input delay when they use the monitor, but it's a huge issue for me. It decreases my mousing accuracy (not just in games) and drives me nuts. I did some research and found that this is an issue with a lot of newer LCD panels coming out, but the LCD manufacturers aren't releasing any specs on input delay for some reason.

I contacted Samsung about this 3 times (and got teir 2 support) and their only response was "there's nothing you can do to change the timing of the monitor".

I'm going to get rid of this monitor ASAP.

Other Thoughts: Up until this monitor I was a long-time supporter of Samsung monitors. Now I think I'll try a Sxxy or something, because of the following reasons:

1. I can't believe they would release a high-dollar monitor with such an obvious flaw.

2. Samsung support was horrible!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: Very clear screen with no ghost at all when playing games like Quake, FarCry. Best decision I made in buying a monitor. It replaced an old 19" Dell I purchased 7 yrs ago.

Cons: NONE - No dead pixels

Other Thoughts: Trying to convince wife to let me purchase another for dual monitor setup
