1 out of 5 eggs3 1/2 years.. really?

Pros: Beautiful picture and functional monitor, while it lasted.

Cons: It's dead after 3 1/2 years. I don't know, maybe to some people that's a long time. I guess I grew up in a time my parents had their television 30 years. I just comprehend a monitor going dead after 3 1/2 years. I supposed I have been fairly luck because I have 3 samsung monitors and 3 samsung tvs and this is my first issue, but I have been hearing a lot of negative feedback about samsung's quality over the last 6 months. Apparently I should realign my expectations about longevity, but I thought I would stop using this monitor because technology improved, not because it went dead. Here's the great catch, Samsung only has a 3 year warranty and their customer service is brutal. Samsung 1 Consumer 0. I'm pretty disappointed and really starting to question purchasing Samsung moving forward. Also had a samsung Blu Ray that last an entire 14 months.

5 out of 5 eggsI like this monitor

Pros: It's got a good look with the typical Samsung glossy black bezel with the blue power indicator. Every pixel is perfect. (I have four Samsung monitors including a 52" HDTV. Not a single bad pixel anywhere.) The display is bright. I also like the energy star rating. It consumes less than 1W when sleeping.

Cons: I can't think of any.

Other Thoughts: I'm using this with Windows 7 beta and a video driver provided by Windows Update. No problems of any kind. I haven't explored the controls under the monitor. Everything was good right out of the box.

1 out of 5 eggsNo digital with 2008 MacBppl

Pros: Looks nice on desktop

Cons: Will not connect to 2008 MacBook with DVI
VGA display is dull and distorted regardless of resolution
DVI cable not included
Display tilt cannot be adjusted
Labels on adjustment buttons are impossible to see; I had to learn them by feel

Other Thoughts: I tried for a month and more to make this monitor work with my late 2008 MacBook. First, no DVI cable came with the monitor. Then Apple's mini-DVI converter wouldn't work with the 2008 MacBook -- it has a DVI miniport, which is a different connection. When I finally got all the right cables, the monitor still wouldn't display. I got friends to check the connection -- the monitor runs fine with other computers in both digital and analog modes. I finally gave up and am using the VGA connection. The result is grainy and UGLY. There is no resolution setting that provides an acceptable image. I more or less hate it. Both Apple and Samsung insist the problem isn't with their product.

5 out of 5 eggssweet

Pros: Very nice monitor. Great quality, looks attractive, good contrast.

Cons: This is the year 2008 why give us a VGA cable but not a DVI cable?

Other Thoughts: Can't really see a difference between 5ms and 2ms. I would say if you looking to buy a 19inch LCD this is probably the best you can get.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor!!!

Pros: I love the colors it was hurting my eyes the first time I played WoW on this thing. The Stand is Nice and Sturdy. The Colors were just amazing everything I would ever need in a monitor.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: The Stand may seem Flimsy but there's a correct way in installing it, its pretty simple kind of like the cube with shapes real easy just pay attention. I would suggest this monitor to anyone Love it!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice and sleek look and plexiglass is a nice touch. Bright and vibrant colors and not one dead pixel. This is my very first LCD monitor and it's a huge space saver. I can write, read, eat and do whatever on my desk. Good bang for the buck purchase.

Cons: Blacks aren't very pretty. Light bleeds from the top and the sides of the screen and it is very irritating to look at. The stand seems a bit flimsy judging from how much it moves back and forth when moving. No height adjustment.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect so far

Pros: Came with no dead pixels and is REALLY bright!(Had to reduce the brightness by half) Also comes with two different programs to automatically adjust color, contrast, and brightness not including the "smart" options on the OSD. Seting up the monitor took about ten minutes(I like to organize everything before I use it)

Cons: No cons that I didn't already know about before I bought it. The monitor wiggles when shaken but it's less than I actually thought it would. Also the screen is only 10" tall so I had to put several books underneath to prop it up to a sufficient height.

Other Thoughts: I didn't buy this on newegg because another store actually had it cheaper at $170 w/ rebate. Also I haven't had time to try out any games so I don't know about the validity of the response time. I'll try to remember to update this in a few months or a year on any changes in condition, but this looks like a keeper. I would recommend this to anyone that wants a nice monitor for a cheap price and not overly concerned with size

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good price, easy set up, love the look and most important running in its native resolution it looks great.

Cons: no height control on the stand, not really a big deal the tilt can take the place of it.

Other Thoughts: With my ATI 2600 XT it looks great, had to update some drivers before it looked really good but was a huge upgrade from my Viewsonic CRT that has been slowly failing for the last month.
