With the Samsung 2253LW monitor on your desk you may never get up again. Samsung has combined the best of their TV and monitor building skills and combined them into this one unit. The 22" screen has a native resolution of 1680x1050 for incredibly detailed pictures. The panel has a 300cd/m² brightness rating and an 8000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
The DVI connector even supports HDCP for exceptional HD performance. There is also a D-Sub connector for analog connections. The stand has tilt and swivel adjustments to maximize viewing comfort.
A full suite of Samsung's Magic Technologies works in the background to maximize picture quality. MagicColor and MagicBright 3 work together to give you rich, natural color. There are also selectable brightness modes depending on what you are doing: text, game, internet, sports and movie. So, hook one of these into your system and enjoy the best for work and play.

Best Bang for my Buck!
- Pros: *2ms Response Time (NO motion blur)
*Beautiful matte-finish screen *Cool looking glossy bezel and clear acrylic button strip *Rotate & Tilt stand
- Cons: -No height adjustment...but so what?
-Recessed control buttons...again so what? (I'm trying REALLY hard to pick two negatives here)
- Other Thoughts: I picked up this monitor and I must say that I am blown away by the picture quality. I spent a considerable amount of time researching LCD 22" monitors before I settled on this one. I have owned several Samsung LCD monitors over the years and this is a welcome addition to the collection. Works beautifully, ZERO dead pixels, classy design, fast response time and high contrast ratio. I'm happy using it and my wife likes the way it looks in the office.
To anyone reading this and all of the other thousands of LCD reviews on Newegg: DON'T LISTEN TO EVERY LITTLE COMPLAINT BY REVIEWERS. The fact is that with 95+% of LCD monitors when you are in a pitch black room with a perfectly black screen, you WILL see the slightest uneven backlighting. This is SERIOUSLY NOT EVEN A LITTLE PROBLEM. People nit-pick these monitors to death. Games look awesome, everything else loves the extra desktop space. Stop worrying and buy the freaking thing...I wish I had just clicked "buy" sooner
A Dangerously Beautiful Monitor
- Pros: 1) Beautifully designed monitor and stand, looks elegant and sophisticated on your desk. The glass trim at the bottom of the monitor is a very beautiful addition, as well as the soft blue light behind the power button (once it's turned on).
2) Outstanding image quality and depth; High Definition images look superior on this monitor.
3) Amount of personalization dealing with the contrast, brightness, gamma, individual color curves, is really professional--you can basically tweak this monitor to suit any need, whether it is for gaming, professional graphic design, or for watching high definition movies.
4) Value. This monitor is a steal at less than $300. Looking at the construction and integrity of this monitor, it looks like it would cost a person $500+.
- Cons: The only con to this monitor is that it is very dangerous. Meaning that after you begin to use it, you are most likely to die from the beauty of the display. No, but seriously, there are no cons with this monitor.
- Other Thoughts: Get this monitor, and make sure you buy a Samsung and not any other brand. There are 0 dead pixels on this monitor and everything about the monitor screams elegance.

Great Monitor on DVI
- Pros: Great picture, bright and clear. No dead pixels. DVI working on my Nvidia 8800GT cards. I saw a review with a guy saying it didn't work on his nvidia cards. Mine did not auto display the dvi, I had to push the source buttom on the front panel to switch it to DVI. Stays there now even after powercycle.
- Cons: none so far
- Other Thoughts: Replaced my Viewsonic VX1935wm which I was verry happy with. Ran it with dvi, and wow, the new one is much brighter and crisper.
Best LCD for the price/performance for 22''
- Pros: Technically not 22 but still close enough.
Best looking screen I have seen for a LCD. Compared to more expensive screens this one can't be told apart if put side by side.
The adjustments and fine calibration software makes for easy almost professionally calibrated screen. Images are so crisp and clear and the games played max resolution all look gorgeous.
- Cons: Awkward buttons.
1 dead pixel but it is so tiny even if you get one or 2 you won't notice it since this LCD uses one of the smallest dot pitch pixels for its size. You have to look really hard.
- Pros: Great viewing area and characteristics for the price
Received in pristine condition, with no viewing artifacts. Mostly aesthic, glossy frame. Bottom-mounted controls. Great specs (2ms response and 8000:1 viewing) for entertainment uses.
- Cons: The spec advertisments (response rate and aspect) on the viewing frame look a little cheezy.
The bottom shield for the controls is a little unaesthetic, and might peel off under curious hands.
- Other Thoughts: Basically went with this after I abused my 17" Syncmaster 740N too much over 18 months (scratched easily under finger pressure), and because more and more of my quality electronics have been made by Samsung.
