4 out of 5 eggsBrought back to life

Pros: nice picture

Cons: no VESA, also broke after 3 yrs

Other Thoughts: I repaired this monitor after its backlight failed, it had classic 30 sec to black symptom and you could see picture if you held bright light up to it. This was one of the last CCFL backlight monitors and it has a power supply of very high voltage to drive CCFL. The capacitors in power supply had gone bad, got $6 worth or replacements and soldered them in. Lots of good info on badcaps.

5 out of 5 eggs(Discontinued Model) SAMSUNG 2233SW

Pros: This is a very popular model for its kind and size. (22 inch class TFT/TN panel technology) If you get a working specimen you will probably like it a lot.

Cons: This model has been discontinued by its mfr. That's 1 reason why its cheaper than most 22" class LCDs. The best price "on the street" is about one hundred sixty five, shipped. Why is the price much higher here ?

Other Thoughts: Many have reported that the wall mounting metal bolt holes were broken off inside the case. If you are not going to wall mount it then you're probably going to be OK. Samsung says this model has a 3 year warranty. ----- Just a thought: Only ignoramuses would want a monitor without speakers to have an HDMI input. HDMI is for digital audio+digital video, not digital video alone. Get an HDMI-to-DVI adapter or an adapter cable.

5 out of 5 eggsvery nice

Pros: Very clear and really nice colors.

Cons: It only supports 75hz on low or non-widescreen resolutions. Most resolutions it only supports 60hz.

Other Thoughts: I'm a gamer and this was my first LCD. It's great for everything besides games ;)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: I have had this monitor for just over a year now. I have experienced absolutley no problems. It worked right out of the box. The dificullity with the stand insertion was overcomed with patience. It snapped right into place. No scratches on monitor. No bad pixels and running great. This monitor has been used daily for 12 hours a day for the past year. The quality for games are great!

Cons: No HDMI adapter. However they are cheap to add on.

Other Thoughts: I have just purchased another one for my wife's system.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good

Pros: Great screen, good price. Contrast is very good, especially for what you pay for.

Cons: The back-lighting leaks out the top and bottom a tiny bit when displaying dark scenes (or whatever). Not a big deal really.

5 out of 5 eggsNew to LCDs...Impressed

Pros: Up until an hour ago I was a CRT user (17")...I took this out of the box...took about two minutes to reset my resolution settings for it...full 1920 x1080 HD of course...and WOW!

I don't have any experience with LCD monitors...but this is great. NO dead pixels...beautiful contrast and colors.

Text is very sharp...see below.

Very easy to set up. ...and HUGE compared to my 17" CRT. Opens two full document pages side by side. This is why I got widescreen in the first place.

It also can adjust aspect ratio to 5:4 and 4:3 for older stuff. Great.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: My video card is an ATI HD 4770 (from Newegg)...and it runs this monitor and all the games I've tried with it very nicely at 1920x1080.

Make sure to reset your resolution in Windows if your moving up from a different size or a CRT, otherwise you will get everything stretched out. It WILL still work at lower settings,,,but it's BEAUTIFUL at full 1920x1080!

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Nice finish, big, bright as you could possibly want, 1080p, HDCP, and price.

Cons: I dont know why the blue light must flash when in stand by mode. Not a big deal, just useless. Such a glossy finish, keep the kids hands off it. I dont know why kids feel the need to touch the monitor all the time.

Other Thoughts: I bought mine at a big box store. It was on sale one day when I happened to be in there. Newegg would have gotten my business on this if I hadn't seen it that day.

Cons: Not a single one

Other Thoughts: After buying a samsung lcd tv it was time to get a samsung monitor. If you plan on buying an hdtv i would highly suggest a Samsung. I work for cox cable and I've seen em all samsung is by far the best.
