With the Samsung 2233SW monitor on your desk you may never get up again. Samsung has combined the best of their TV and monitor building skills and combined them into this one unit. The 22” screen has a native 1920x1080 resolution, 300cd/m² brightness rating and 15000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for incredibly detailed pictures.
The DVI connector supports HDCP for exceptional HD performance, and there's a D-Sub connector for analog connections. The stand has tilt adjustments to maximize viewing comfort.
A full suite of Samsung’s Magic Technologies works in the background to maximize picture quality. MagicColor and MagicBright3 work together to give you rich, natural color. Selectable brightness modes let you adjust things for various functions: text, game, internet, sports and movie. So, hook one of these into your system and enjoy the best for work and play.
Pros: It's like a miniature version of my 42" Samsung HDTV. Black gloss, 1080p, and HDCP! Can be used as a HDTV if you have a receiver and speakers. I have the unit plugged into a cable box with a DVI->HDMI adapter, and then RCAs from the cable box to receiver since it's like 20 years old and has no digital support. Ended up saving ~$150-200 instead of getting a TV with a build-in tuner and speakers. Fantastic value since it doubles as a monitor and HDTV! As usual newegg rocks the house.
Cons: Had to monkey around with putting it together at first, but didn't take more than 10 minutes. Turned out to be incredibly easy to assemble. Could benefit from HDMI, but that isn't a problem since there are really cheap adapters that immediately remedy that issue.
Other Thoughts: Those who say that it scratches easily, has no HDMI, and that it doesn't do 720p very well, DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! You must've been trashed while you were assembling it or not be good with simple shapes. I had some initial difficulty, so I studied the parts briefly and then it assembled perfectly with no scratches or damage; and I didn't use the manual at all.
For no HDMI support, get a $5 DVI->HDMI adapter. I'm watching TV in 1080i/720p right now and it works great with that adapter. It also played 720p and 1080p mkvs perfectly when I used it as a monitor before the cable guy came. I have a feeling that an adapter(s) and some messing around to find the best monitor settings for optimal playback would solve problems with a HD camera or component. It's possible to get defective units (e.g., VGA port quit working) but most of the time it just takes patience and focus while researching and troubleshooting a product you purchase.

Just what I was looking for

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: The HD and the 1080P is flawless, the set up was a bit difficult but set up but wasn't that bad. Just use some type of lubricant like hand sanitizer, or some lotion and it should pop right in. Crystal clear like graphics, as a gamer using Crysis and Dead space as a test, the graphics were flawless. Upgraded from a 15'' HP stock monitor. Haha
Cons: None

Pros: Up until an hour ago I was a CRT user (17")...I took this out of the box...took about two minutes to reset my resolution settings for it...full 1920 x1080 HD of course...and WOW!
I don't have any experience with LCD monitors...but this is great. NO dead pixels...beautiful contrast and colors.
Text is very sharp...see below.
Very easy to set up. ...and HUGE compared to my 17" CRT. Opens two full document pages side by side. This is why I got widescreen in the first place.
It also can adjust aspect ratio to 5:4 and 4:3 for older stuff. Great.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: My video card is an ATI HD 4770 (from Newegg)...and it runs this monitor and all the games I've tried with it very nicely at 1920x1080.
Make sure to reset your resolution in Windows if your moving up from a different size or a CRT, otherwise you will get everything stretched out. It WILL still work at lower settings,,,but it's BEAUTIFUL at full 1920x1080!
Later...

Pros: Nice finish, big, bright as you could possibly want, 1080p, HDCP, and price.
Cons: I dont know why the blue light must flash when in stand by mode. Not a big deal, just useless. Such a glossy finish, keep the kids hands off it. I dont know why kids feel the need to touch the monitor all the time.
Other Thoughts: I bought mine at a big box store. It was on sale one day when I happened to be in there. Newegg would have gotten my business on this if I hadn't seen it that day.
