5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent resolution and color reproduction. You can't beat the price!

Cons: The stand could be a little bit better, but it can be removed and mounted to the wall if it's too irritating!

5 out of 5 eggsWhat a difference

Pros: 50000:1 Contrast ratio gives a crisp, clean image, especially at 1920x1080. Power saving features, and a huge difference from my old 943swx in regards to gaming and HD media.

Cons: I can't think of any. This is everything I needed in a monitor.

Other Thoughts: Didnt purchase it from Newegg as I work for a hardware retail outlet, and received staff pricing. Even still, the price here is good.

5 out of 5 eggsUsed for Recording Workstation

Pros: Bought 2 of these and mounted them on an Atdec for a recording workstation. No dead pixels and picture is excellent for the price.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Circular back cover pops off to reveal VESA mounting holes. Does come with DVI cable but I switched it out.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome monitor, awesome price

Pros: I love this monitor. The colors are stunning compared to my older HP w2207. Everything is super clear and pictures look amazing. I love the 1920x1080 resolution and quick response time for gaming.

Cons: I would have liked a glossy finish on the screen itself and also a stand that had height adjustment. The touch controls are tough to get used to.

Other Thoughts: If your looking for a quality monitor for around $200, look no further. I did a ton of research and asked a lot of people what I should get before buying and it all pointed to Samsung. At $189 this is a superb monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome So Far!

Pros: Great clarity, nice color, gorgeous casing, nice price, it's a Samsung!

Cons: I had to move my wall mount to make it fit right. Does that count? Didn't think so. No cons!

Other Thoughts: I'm an official, certified Samsung nut and this monitor is a great example of why. I just really don't think you can get a better monitor for under $200 and maybe not even under $250. This monitor produces clean, crisp images, was easy to setup, and looks great hanging over my desk. I love the gloss finish and the touch controls!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great picture quality. No dead pixels. MagicTune allows you to access the OSD functions from a tray application in Windows.

Cons: Touchscreen-like buttons on the front of the monitor are impossible to see in the dark. Fingerprint smudges on the glossy bezel due to pressing said buttons are inevitable.

Other Thoughts: The base swivels and tilts, unlike what some others have said. It does not have any height adjustment, however.

5 out of 5 eggsSamsung 2243SWX

Pros: This monitor has a very good understanding of colours. Deep black, yet bright whites make watching movies and TV shows on this display a wonderful experience. DVI-D looks great, I'm actually kind of glad they left off the HDMI port, because that usually creates a need for built in speakers which are never any good. Plus, DVI-D is the same signal as HDMI, just without the sound. VGA even looks better than some other LCD's I've tested that have DVI-D.

Very thin profile, one of the thinnest I've seen.

Cons: There is a little backlight bleed on the bottom, but very minimal and doesn't stretch across the bezel. There is also very, very minimal backlight bleed on the top, but none on the sides. This is to be expected however because it is a TN panel.

Limited connection options.

Other Thoughts: I recently went out and bought a $250 23-inch HP display thinking it would be better because of it's glossy screen. It didn't have very deep black colours, nor were the colours as accurate as my Samsung.

I'm considering ordering another one so I can have two of these hooked up, but I think I'll save up my money and purchase some kind of VA display in the future. This monitor is great for gaming (5ms) while VA panels are still working up to that kind of response time. The prices are coming down on those, too so if you want a display with virtually no backlight bleed and very, very accurate colours, go with a VA or IPS- based panel. However, this Samsung display can compete with some VA displays, despite it's being a TN panel and technically in Samsung's "essential" product line.

5 out of 5 eggsNothing to complain about

Pros: I wanted 2good sized monitors to seup a dualscreen thing. Bought two of these, they worked, and that's all monitors should do

Cons: tilt is hard to adjust, must remove stand from monitor to adjust it, and it is very tight. Though I don't plan to adjust tilt alot anyways, so the fact that it is tight may be a good thing

1 out of 5 eggsNot Very good

Pros: Cheap
Full HD 1080P

Cons: Colors look washed out
Touch sensitive controls
No preset color temps (6500K, 5400K, etc.)
Difficult to calibrate

Other Thoughts: Thought I found a diamond in the ruff...but very disappointed in this monitor. Colors look faded and washed out. for a TN panel display it's probably ok. I guess the adage you get what you pay for is actually true. Is there an affordable, decent monitor left with even close to accurate color rendition? I think these manufactures are too worried about response time to even concentrate on a monitor that actually displays any semblance to decent color rendition.

5 out of 5 eggsNice monitor for the price

Pros: Samsung makes nice monitors. The one I received has no defective pixels.

Cons: There is a little blacklighting bleedthrough at top and bottom. The shiny black finish tends to show noticable dust or fingerprints.

Other Thoughts: The pixel pitch (~0.25 mm/pixel) is very fine. At 1920 x 1080 resolution, the standard 96 dpi screen font setting is a little small for the 22" monitor. I change the screen font to 120 dpi and the text looks much better at normal viewing distance (1' to 1.25').

The other alternative is to get a 24" monitor, which will probably cost 30% more.
