5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding monitor

Pros: I have had this monitor for two years now, the colors are vibrant, there is no washout at the edges. The contrast is amazing and I have never had any issues running even the most recent games at the highest settings, it takes anything my video card throws at it and displays it beautifully.

I first used this as a monitor for my laptop and have since bought a desktop. I use a I5 2500k over clocked to 4.4ghz, a Nvidia 560ti overclocked with MSI afterburner and 16Gb of Corsair Vengence Ram running at 1600 Mhz. I have played just about any graphics intensive game at the highest settings and this monitor makes them all look amazing. HD movies and TV shows look as good as the Samsung 46" 240mhz LED backlit 3D Smart TV displays them. You will not be disappointed by this monitor in anyway.

As with anything, getting it to the settings you want for your own tastes requires you to set it. That's life, technology does not read your mind yet. So for people complaining about having to set the settings.... stop complaining. That's why you are able to set it to whatever you like. Being able to set it to anything you desire is in my opinion another plus.

Two years later I have no dead pixels, no color bleeding, no complaints at all.

Cons: The tiniest annoyance is on PC start up it cycles through the different possible display inputs until the one you have plugged in begins sending data to the monitor. I would only suggest being able to tell the monitor which input to wait for and not cycle on it's own everytime.

Other Thoughts: The con listed is a tiny annoyance that is probably meant to keep less tech savvy people from inadvertently picking the wrong input port and being frustrated. It is only a minor annoyance and I can understand why it is that way.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as it should and looks good!

Pros: - Great picture
- Works great with various computers I'cve tried

Cons: - The menu controls kinda suck, but not worth docking an shouldn't have to use them that often anyway.
- The power supply runs quite warm to the touch and this makes me a little hesitant, but great so far!

Other Thoughts: Works great with:
- Cooler Master 360 case
- ASRock 870i Cafe board
- HIS 6570 1GB video card
- Crucial M4 64 GB SSD
- Seagate Barracuda Green 1.5TB HDD
- G Skill Ripjaws 8GB mem
- Nexus 430w PSU

5 out of 5 eggsperfect

Pros: Its LED (low power consumption) very thin. 1080P (1920x1080) and it has a 2ms respond time, which is awesome. 2 HDMI ports, a VGA port and a Audio out port. This display has the highest quality and all the right ports and was at the right price. Currently have it connected to PS3, 2nd monitor for Macbook and a apple TV which is hooked up to a Monster sound dock via the audio out. the 2ms with the 1080P makes it perfect for gaming and watching movies or doing just about anything at my computer desk

Cons: Does not have built in speakers. although that is not a issue for me.

4 out of 5 eggssamsung bx2331 monitor

Pros: bought in jan 2011 and it still runs well. it's thin, bright, sharp... etc. for the $$ it's def worth the investment. looks better than my old lcd too

Cons: the touch-buttons to adjust the monitor's brightness, contrast, color etc. is the only complaint. once you get use to the button's special "touch" then it's easier, but still annoying sometimes.

no other problems... yet

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this product. i've always been a fan of samsung for their monitors and tvs. And haven't been disappointed yet either.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor, some caveats.

Pros: Great displays! Crisp but not to bright, better than average contrast and color reproduction, lots of useful settings, thin, light, and attractive. Incredible bang for the buck for the $180 something I picked these up for.

Cons: Resolution is a little low for this size, but not really that big of a deal, they still look great and that is to be expected in this price range. My biggest complaint is that the stand is not detachable once attached. I like to keep the boxes to pack them in when I move to keep them safe but the stand will not detach as far as I can tell without possibly breaking the thing. This is the only reason it lost one egg.

Also there is no mount points for any sort of rear wall mount system, which I wasnt really expecting but would have been nice. The only other issue that I have is that the touch sensitive controls can sometimes be... not so sensitive.

Other Thoughts: Overall very happy with my purchase, wish they were still in still in stock, would love to pick up another one.

2 out of 5 eggsGood price (used)

Pros: - Native 1080p Resolution
- Good Color contrast* (see cons)
- Dual HDMI inputs, One D-Sub RGB
- HDMI Audio Pass-through works like a charm!
- Superb viewing angle

Cons: - Magic Color and Magic Eco are pointless, you will never use them
- Bad Contrast/Display brightness ergonomics:
-- Monitor in AV Mode, 1080p does not display properly (oversamples pixel count)
-- HDMI Black Level Normal isn't black at all, its almost light gray, even after tweaking
-- HDMI Black Level Low provides flat black, but with no pixel-filter interference, you'll start to notice LED light bleeding from every bloody side of the screen.
-- Gamma 1 and 2 are too light, regardless of HDMI Black Level
-- Gamma 3 works, but you'll get weird color abberations around the backlight bleed in HDMI Black Level Normal, and light-bleed washout in Low
-- Don't even think about this one if you do graphic design or similar, it is simply too hard to keep the coloring consistent, or match it for printing ESPECIALLY if you enable dynamic contrast/magic color.
- Audio volume resets to 50 every time the monitor is turned off

Other Thoughts: I bought this monitor a while back, as a recertified deal from, and while it definitely serves it's purpose, the cons I listed above are frustrating. I use a good variety of Samsung products all over my home, but really have noticed a slide in quality from the company recently, which leaves a bit to be desired. For this reason, I may have to switch brands sooner or later.
